Vintage Stoneware Crock Jug - 2 Tone Brown/Tan & Off White
Vintage stoneware crock jug. The jug is a 2 tone brown/tan and off white. The jug is approximately 11" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter(measured on bottom) tape measure shown in photos as well. The jug is not perfect and does have some wear but just adds to the character of the piece. I tried to capture all main wear in the attached photos. There are some chips along bottom edge. An area of crazing on one side, a couple stoneware imperfections on one side in the brown area(doesn't look to be chips- looks to be be from when made) I have found no cracks. The neck looks to have been hand formed and the handle to be applied. Nice item. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Vintage Brown Jug Stoneware 1 Gallon Earthenware Whiskey Pottery
Here is a spectacular 1 gallon size stoneware brown jug. Four scribe lines around the top edge give crispness. The neck is precisely formed. The attachment of handle to the jug shows purpose and care. Two tendrils of glaze add character. This is a very well made piece. The jug is 12 inches tall. And 7 inches in diameter at the bottom, and slightly wider at the top. It is sturdy and structurally well made. The bottom 8 inches is glazed clear, with the natural color of the clay showing through. The top is dip glazed in a rich chocolate brown. The Buckeye Pottery Company of Macomb. Illinois was established in 1882 by Joseph Pech and his sons. They started with a total capital of ~$20,000 and hired twenty employees. The building was located on Carroll Street near the railroad tracks in Macomb. Joseph Pech, a native of Bohemia was born in 1827, and immigrated to America in 1852, living in Wisconsin and Ohio, eventually settling in Macomb, IL, where he founded Joseph Pech& Sons in 1882. The platform neck is well formed and strong, and loop strap rear single handle is tight, easy grip, highly looped, and attached firmly no issues. This is a clean nice stoneware example for anyone's proud display collection. Unmarked to capacity, I would say it is best equivalent to just about 1 1/2 gallon size. Condition Report: One very tiny stone ping above coil spray. Triangular shaped stone ping on right side upper shoulder from which emanates a line of vertical glaze drip. Overall pleasing light grey coloration with a small Texas-state shaped beige blotch to left side midway. This is smooth. Just a kiln color aberration in the manufacture. No kiss marks. Clean sound bottom with tiny felt pad dots to prevent scratching. No fry to cobalt, No hairlines. No repairs. Just HONEST old piece that has sat last 30+ years in a collection in the area in which is was made. An unmarked Yellow Ware Toby Jug with spectacular Rockingham(Bennington) glaze. Likely English, late-19thC. A small(5"H) example with concave base, applied strap handle and smooth, bulbous body. The overall condition is excellent. There are some minor production and/or manufacturing flaws, glaze skips drips, and one tiny nick on the inner rim(see close-up) The glaze is a beautiful, rich brown with lots of creamy yellow base clay showing through. This is a 5& 1/2" tall pitcher featuring portraits of the"Guild Mayor& Mayoress Mr. and Mrs. Astley-Bell" in 1922. On the other side is a sheep with a cross and flag that may be the seal of Preston. The city featured on the pitcher. It has a gold rim around the top and a gold stripe down the handle. On the base it says"W. Eilmer Ltd. Preston. The printing is a little smeared so I am not certain of the spelling of the name. Has a small chip on the bottom rim that can only be seen when upside down. The interior is quite clean. I saw a tiny bit of crazing here and there. The oval is 1 11/16" wide; the writing in this oval says: RED WING UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING MINN; stoneware with this oval in combination with a two inch wing was only produced from 1933 to 1936. This jug has a total height of almost 15" from the surface it is sitting on, to the shoulder this jug, is almost 9 7/8" The bottom is approximately 9 7/8" in diameter. This jug has glaze skips and other manufacturing imperfections. A previous owner glued a cork into this jug; this cork has been removed, but remnants of it still remain. Vintage Nautical Puzzle Jug
Hi. I'm listing a vintage puzzle jug. I've only found one like this and I used the copy from google images. You will see the exact duplicate in the photos. I haven't any clue as to how old this might be, I bought it at a vintage shop about 12 years ago. The google image actually has the picture and the text, however it hasn't any information about where and when it was made either.The copy of the jug is exactly the right depiction. I take most of my pics. at night and have to use my flash and it just isn't the same as natural lighting. It's in relatively nice condition, there are a few small marks, as I've noted in the pics. The middle portion with the text has a sand like texture to it. The vessel, as google addresses it: is approx. 8 1/2" H& it is approx. 17" around the largest portion. Antique Crock 3 Gallon U.S.A Rare No Reserve!!! Brown
You are viewing a wonderful crock that is 3 gallon and as you can see has a brown glaze inside. The crock is marked USA on the bottom. There are no cracks, chips and breaks in this crock. I took photos from all angles to show you what great shape this very old crock is in. This crock was in my late grandparents home. I will be listing two other crocks I found as well. This crock measures 11 1/2 by 10 1/2 and weights 14.6 lbs.
