Small alkaline or salt glazed, primitive antique crock. 6 1/4 inches high, about 3 inch top diameter, about 4 1/4 inch bottom diameter. ... moreLooks to be just under 5 inches around(diameter) in the middle. Nice luster, looks different in every kind of light. Glaze is nicely variegated- study photos to get the feel and look of this relatively heavy piece(for its size) Does not appear to be missing a lid- the way the opening was made, I do not believe this ever had a lid, at least not a ceramic one that would have been incorporated into the clay design when the piece was hand thrown. Looks like this crock could originate from the Catawba Valley Pottery, but just my opinion. Glaze& form reminds me a little bit of Pewabic Pottery pieces, but not iridescent. Not much wear given its age- glaze has rubbed off in a few small spots around the rim(see photo) but no serious chips or cracks. Bottom is unmarked. All sales are final- no returns. Antique C Hermann Whiskey Jug Salt Glazed Rust and Brown Tones 1 gallon
This is a wonderful old crockery sipping jug. Although I do not know how anyone could possibly sip from a jug as heavy as this. This weighs almost 10 pounds, you can tell it is a very old jug the minute you lift it. On the jug is the emblem for C. Hermann& Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We looked this company up and they stopped making this kind of jug in 1875 so it cannot be newer than that. It is in remarkable condition with no chips or cracks. This jug is almost 9 inches high and about 6 inches in diameter. The jug has a salt glaze. The red brown color occupies the first 2/3 of the jug and then moves to dark brown to tan. The bottom is unglazed. As I said this is a very heavy item. Careful packaging requires a larger box that will hold substantial packaging material. Our items are wrapped for safety and will arrive in exactly the condition ... moredescribed and pictured. Our shipping charges may be somewhat higher to allow for safe delivery. Excess amounts paid for shipping will be refunded.

PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE~1-GAL. SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE MOONSHINE JUG w/Applied Handle
This heavy. 1-gallon antique salt-glazed stoneware crock jug is a beauty! I'm not sure what was in it originally, but I'd guess hard liquor or moonshine. It has a lovely light cream to putty-colored salt glaze finish, with a hand-applied handle, and possible two-piece body construction. The surface has a wonderful patina, and the inside has the same creamy glaze. There are some scrapes on the mouth and top of the handle that are old enough to beautifully blend into the color of the salt glaze, a few stray dark marks, a few extra bits of clay stuck here and there, and no other damage that I can find. A very unique piece from a bygone era! Unsure of maker. From the late 1800s-early 1900s. I see no damage other than what I've already described. Could use a good cleaning. ANTIQUE 1/2 GAL WINE STONEWARE JUG SALT GLAZED W/ COBALT INCISED FISH DECORATION
THIS IS ONE OF THREE 1/2 GALLON JUGS I WILL BE LISTING CONSECUTIVELY! BE SURE TO CHECK THEM ALL OUT! I will not combine shipping on stoneware. It is just too dangerous! Shipping will be $18 per jug. The three jugs will be followed by a piece of blue stencil decorated Iowa Stoneware! Please feel free to email me with any questions! I don't know the maker but do know I have never seen anything like this one! The front is stamped WINE and underneath that are a series of incised fish an some sort of plant alternating all the way around. Years ago I saw a crock with this incised decoration but it had no markings other than that(and was crazy expensive) This jug has a great somewhat ovoid shape. The WINE stamp stands out even better in person. There is some sort of stone ping to the lower left of the word WINE that did lead to a hairline crack ... moredrifting across the front. It does not get any closer than 1 inch to the cobalt band with the fish and WINE stamp. Everything is pictured. It is truly a fantastic piece of stoneware! It has been sitting in my dining room since I purchased it. If it were not for an unexpected expense this jug would stay permanently in my dining room! Don't miss out on this rarity! I have always overlooked a little damage of the piece is rare and unusual enough. I do believe this jug qualifies! See the pictures!

Antique Salt Glazed Stoneware Pottery Jug Crock 1 Gallon 1800s Primitive Whiskey
Antique Jug This auction is for a really nice and very rare antique stoneware jug or crock that has a really nice salt glaze finish. The jug is rather narrow and it’s a very early model. But there are no markings minus what looks like a letter G stamped in the back. The jug measures about 11" tall and it has a very unusual pinched handle design that I’ve never seen. Really nice piece and in excellent condition with no damage. There is a very shallow chip at the mouth but it might just have been manufactured as such– it looks like it’s always been there. Great piece and guaranteed old! I charge a 5.1% sales tax to all Wisconsin residents- sorry. It's mandatory! Thanks for bidding! Shipping rules: If you happen to win more than one auction and live in the United States I will GREATLY discount shipping. Obviously. The discount will ... moredepend on the weight of each individual item and the physical characteristics of the shipment. Discount will be determined once all auctions are closed, or you can email me for the exact cost prior to the auctions closing. Return Policy: Returns are accepted on items in the event there is a discrepancy between the item description above and the actual condition of the item. I am also always willing. At my discretion, to work with the bidder to make sure their experience is positive, and will often return items if it’s not what the bidder expected. Please inquire before bidding if this is unclear. A request for return must be made within 3 days of delivery– there are NO exceptions to this rule. Bleeding_gums rules: Payment must be received within 10 days of auction close. Quality Shipping! Powered by The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.

Brown Salt Glazed Miniature 4 1/4" tall Jug
I can tell you I honestly don't know what this was used for. Maybe liquor? Anyway it stands roughly 4 1/4" tall, it has a salt glaze, and the base color is brown. It is a molded item, suggesting they made more than one. It does have a fish eye in the glaze, showing some color from the salt glaze. No other condition issues have been found. I try to describe items in the best detail I can for your bidding confidence. If you have any questions please email me before bidding. If possible. I am happy to combine shipments if your bidding on other items I have up for auction. I only ship to your registered EBAY address, and only use USPS. I will leave feedback once it has been left for me. Thanks.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*3A%3Cd%3Ff6%3E-14b366d7d4e-0x10b-

2 1/2 antique vinegar whisky spit salt glazed
Hello. This is a crock/jug that I have had for at least 15 years. I actually rediscovered it as it was behind some pics. in my garage. It was probably used for vinegar. It looks as if it was covered with paint at one time, there is a little here and there on the surface and more on the bottom. I could not find a makers mark but it is clearly marked 2 1/2(gal. no doubt) on the top side. Someone may be able to ID the maker by that. There are no chips but there are rough spots on the surface where the glaze bubbles burst. This seems to be characteristic for this type of glaze. The height is 15 1/4" the largest dia. is 9 1/4" and the bottom dia. is 6 1/2" Please take a good look at the pics. and contact me with any questions. Thanks, FLL On Jan-29-15 at 14:51:16 PST. Seller added the following information: Hello again. After this ... morejug started getting so much attention I thought I had better make sure my pictures and discription were giving you the info. that you needed. In my research I came to the conclusion that this jug probably has a spit salt glaze. In the description I said it has a spit salt glaze. Well I really don't know what kind of a glaze it has for sure. Please take a good close look at the pics. Most of the white spots come right off. Some are spots where the glaze bubble burst and paint is there. Once again please contact me with questions or maybe more pictures. Thanks again, Franklloydlarry

Vintage 2 Gallon Crock/Jug Salt Glazed W/Tulip 13 1/2"x 9" No Reserve
Vintage 2 gallon jug with I believe the salt glazed. Its approx. 13 1/2"x 9" brown or tan in color with the tulip& number 2 in blue. I'm not sure if its a tulip or not but from the ones on ebays that would be the closes to what it looks like. It has a couple tiny chips on the top edge and 1 on the side. I've showed these in my photo's. Its unmarked except for the flower& number 2. I've tried to show everything in my photo's. Buyer to pay for shipping unpacked its over 10 pounds so shipping will be for 14 pounds plus the cost of insurance(optional) I always combine shipping. I try to keep my handling charge to around a dollar but if shipping is off by more than $1.50 I refund the overage above $1.50 back to the buyers paypals account. Paypals or Cashiers Checks ONLY. I always Email the buyer and ship the ... moresame day I receive payment and always conbine shipping for more than one item. I will ship to any country but outside USA will pay the higher shipping rate plus a handling charge. I will no longer stand good for any item I list that is fragile and broken or lost while in shipment without insurance. I pack to were I'm never worried about it being broken but here lately the post office has lost a couple packages and crushed one. Any questions just Email me.
