HUGE Pair DRESDEN PORCELAIN CANDELABRA w/ PUTTI FLOWERS Von Schierholz German Offered for sale is this huge pair of Dresden porcelain 5 light candelabras. Each with 2 putti and applied flowers throughout. Each candelabra separates into 2 pieces as shown in the pictures- just the bases would be really pretty single candlesticks if you prefer. SIZE: The candelabras are approximately 23 inches tall. From candle holder to candle holder they are approximately 14 inches wide. I put a can of Coke with them in one picture so you can see the size. CONDITION: Each of the upper candle holding parts has a repair to an arm. And a putti is missing a thumb- the pen is pointing to these in the close up pictures. There are the typical scattered small chips to petals on the applied flowers. Please see the close up pictures. Pair of Antique German HP Porcelain Candlesticks Ca 1907
Up for the auction is a pair of amazing antique(Ca. 1907) German Von Schierholz's Meissen style glazed porcelain candlesticks made in Meissen style with the winged cherubs surrounding by the flowers and supporting the candle cups(pics. 1-6) It is beautifully hand painted in pastel colors with a great attention to the details(pics. 7-11) Very beautiful. Eye catching pieces, real treasure and high quality pieces of art! Marked on the bottom as shown on pic. 12. In an very good condition for the age with a small professional restoration to one of the cups under the scalloped rim and not noticeable if not to turn it over. Also there are a couple of tiny nicks on the foliage(see pics. 10-11) Provenance: this is my last item from the estate of Maria Helen Alvarez-Smith who was a president and part owner of Tulsa's first TV station back ... morein 1949. She moved later to San Diego where she became a partner in the business that bought San Diego's KFMB-TV and radio stations in 1953. And financed and built Disneyland Hotel in 1955. There are no white ware marks or even the name of the country of origin so it was made between the early 1800's and 1890. After that they had to put at least the name of the country of origin. ANTIQUE GERMAN CANDLE HOLDER WITH MATCH STRIKE RP CREST This beautiful antique german porcelain candleholder with match strike measures 7 1/2 inches from handle to handle and is 4 inches wide in the center. The match holder has a gold shield in the center that has the initials RP along with palm trees. I think this may be from a hotel? The holder has a gold accented fan type handle on each end along with gold trim on the rim and on the top of the candleholder. The piece is in very good condition. However there is quite a bit of gold wear and gold loss on the shield. There is also some gold wear on the rim and candleholder. The outside bottom has some spots of yellow discoloration. This is a Vintage VIETRI Italian Gilt Leaf Motif Candle Holders. The candle holders appear to be terra cotta or similar redware pottery that. As is typical on such pieces, shows through a bit in places. The candle holders are about 5" long including the stem of the leaf with a maximum width of 3 1/2" And they are 1" tall. The opening for the candle is about 7/8" in diameter at the top, tapering a bit smaller toward the bottom. The holders are in excellent condition with the exception of some minor remnants of white cancle residue inside and out side the holder area. The holders are an estate item. We think they are old enough to be vintage but we do not know the age for sure. The maker's marks have a somewhat contemporary look as seen. The holders are marked with a clear plastic sticker reading"MADE IN ITALY" ... moreand"HILLSBOROUGH N.C. presumably the importer's or retailer's name) In a circular pattern with the Italian maker's name, VIETRI INCORPORATED" inside the circle. It bears the makers mark that dates this piece to have been made between 1891-1896. It also bears the Bawo& Dotter Elite red overglaze decorating mark that dates the decoration to have been done between 1891-1900. It features a lovely scalloped edge with handle. It is decorated with pink. Blue and green flower transfers. The edge of the rim and the skirt of the candle are painted in gold. It measures 6 inches wide and stands 2.75 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with only a small flake on the underside of the bottom foot ring which sits on the table as seen in photo 6. No other chips or cracks. The lady is wearing blue/green gloves and is in an ELEGANT low cut dress with matching blue/green design. She has gold plate trim and her shoes are also gold plate. The gentleman is wearing a ruffled shirt and his pants and jacket have the same pattern as the lady's dress. His long jacket has the blue/green cuffs. And inside is blue/green too. He is wearing blue/green shoes. They both have the BEAUTIFUL ROSEBUD LIPS! Lots of GOLD PLATE trim all over. Nothing identifiable on base. BEAUTIFULLY MADE! They both measure 7 1/4" tall. 4" wide, by 2" deep. Martial Redon Limoges France Handpainted Candle Holder Purple Violets Urn Ewer
Offered is an antique Limoges handpainted candle holder made by the Martial Redon Porcelain Factory in France circa 1894. The candle holder measures 10" tall and 5" wide. Pieces like this are hard to find now. The candle holder is urn or ewer shaped and molded with leaves. Flowers and scrolls. It has ornate double handles and a reticulated candle bowl. The body is handpainted with purple flowers, possibly violets. The upper part of the holder is painted a golden tan, and the handles are gilt and tan. The candle bowl is 1 3/8" across(interior measure) The holder is not signed. On the bottom the candle holder has the green M R France stamp. Mark 2, used the the Redon Factory between 1891 and 1896. The candle holder is in excellent antique condition without cracks or chips.
