Dark brown 10-inch jug. Antique This ceramic jug is 10 1/2 inches tall. The diameter is 6 1/2 inches. It has a shiny dark brown glaze; photos show some reflection of its surroundings(there is NO bluish tint on it) There is bubbling in the glaze. And there are some scrapes in the glaze around the rim of the opening and the bottom rim. The most notable damage is a square, punched in area that is 7/16 inches by 7/16 inches. It did NOT punch the whole way through the jug. There are some scratches on the jug due to use. The handle is very secure- there is no evidence of any breaks or repairs to the jug or its handle. The stopper is long gone and is NOT included. This was bought at an antique store over 30 years ago. Offered is this small vintage or antique beige and dark brown"moonshine" jug. The jug stands approx. 7 1/2" high. Is 4 1/4" across at the base and holds about 1 quart(actually almost a cup more will fit all the way to the top of the neck) It is in very good condition. There are numerous bumps and raised areas on the surface. I discovered that t he cork is still inside when I added water to measure the jug's capacity but I could not get it out.

Rare Antique 1800's 3 Gallon Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug This is a rare opportunity to own a very old 3 Gallon salt glazed stoneware handled jug with a wide mouth in a very dark brown. I'm estimating 1800's. But it may be older-look at the pictures and judge for yourself. It has a primitive"3" near the top. No other marks. The top is slightly darker than the bottom. 14-1/2 inches high and has a 9-1/2" diameter. The mouth is almost 4" across. Condition: Very good given it's age. Handle is intact and solid. No chips around the mouth and only minor chips around the top edge of the body. The top has some lighter color in a very few small spots-may be paint drips or an old attempt to touch it up. Regardless, it only adds to the patina of the jug. The bottom has some damage as can be seen from the last 3 photos, ... morebut it appears to be age related. There is the start of a hairline crack near the bottom, but the jug appears to be solid and should be around for a very long time-see last photo. See high resolution photos for more! This is a great old jug and would make a wonderful addition to anyone's home! REALLY COOL VINTAGE STONEWARE SHOULDER JUG 1/2 GALLON - MED. BROWN/DARK BROWN
Up for auction is a really neat vintage one-half gallon shoulder jug with a seldom seen color combination. This jug has a medium brown color on the top portion of the jug and dark brown on the bottom section. I can't recall ever seeing this color combination. The jug stands approximately 8 1/2" tall and has a base diameter of just under 6" This is a super cool smaller vintage should jug that is in excellent condition and has no chips. Cracks, or defects of any kind! Would be a welcome addition to your stoneware collectibles. I am not an expert in any field of collectibles. However. Antique Dark Brown Glazed Chinese Saki or Soy Sauce jug
Nice old antique Saki or Soy sauce bottle from the mid to late 1800s probably Chinese in origin measuring aprox. 5 1/4" tall and 4 3/4" across the base.Item was dug in a dump behind an old sewing mill in central PA. Condition is nice but does have two chips mostly to the underside of the lip on the back side of the spout one about 1/2" and the other about 1/4. There are also a couple of old base chips as seen but no cracks or other damage. There is a spot on the shoulder that looks like it's missing glaze but it has smooth edges and is a spot where the glaze never took. Nice crude early jug.
