Has a very thin hair line crack on the spout(picture 7) but not bad. There is a mold defect when it was fired, and appears to have caused a glaze bubble which made the hole on top of maple leaf. A rubber gasket seal and screws into the top of the jug. It appears to have"+" slots in the top for screwing the lid tight so I'm assuming it held some type of valuable liquid! Bottom Marked Stoneware Cone Top One Gallon Jug by Buckeye Pottery
For your consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made by the BUCKEYE POTTERY of MACOMB ILLINOIS. This jug is a one gallon size and is the cone top style. I do not know much about this company. What I do know is this company was formed in 1882 and was sold in 1941; I beleive this jug to have been manufactured during the first decade of the twentieth century. In 1882, the technology to use this type of glaze had not been invented. The companies that I have studied got the technology to use this type of glaze between 1894 and 1901. From the table to the shoulder is approximately 7" This jug has a total height of approximately 10 3/4" The bottom is slightly over 7" in diameter. This jug has a crack on the cone, not far from the handle. It has a chip on the shoulder and another chip on the lip. Wow. This rustic jug is 118 years old! So sad about the crack(see photo) 9.25" tall 7.5" wide 5 pounds At least the chips on the bottom barely show. English Lovatts Stoneware Jug Pewter Top Hand Painted 1895
Charming! This is in very fine condition. I can find no flaws of any kind. Made by Lovatt's Potteries. Ltd. Langley Mill, near Nottingham, England, 1895. Today they are known as Denby, a favorite fine English Pottery. The bottom part of the jug is grey texture with posies hand painted over it; then there is a row of cream-coloured beading. The top half is cobalt blue with more flowers in pink, white and green. The pewter top is in fine condition, hinges work well, there is just nothing wrong with this lovely piece. Very Rare Antique I think Red Wing Pottery Dome Top Hand Painted"Little Brown Jug" only it's not brown or Little. The Handle looks to be applied. It has no cracks. Or repairs. It does hae a few chips at the mouth of the jug. on the back base& bottom pictured. And, the paint on the flower is crackling and delicate(must be handled with care) also pictured. I think this jug is ca. 1890s- 1940s give or take, but I'm not 100% sure? The shoulder of the vessel is domed. The jug's 7 1/2" tall again I think it's a one gallon jug. This is a handsome old stoneware jug in two tones- beige and carmel. It is in superb condition: no cracks. No chips and no crazing. It is marked 2 gallon and stands 17 1/2" tall and the base is 8 1/2" in diameter. The unusual feature in a screw in top make out of the stoneware. It is very difficult to read the stamp on the bottom except the 1944 which I assume is for the date. Inside the oval stamp I can make out Chesterfield and Made in England but the Co. name is possibly"Whittingham" I take Paypal for expedient and safe payment of your item. This company was founded in 1883 and existed until 1906, when it merged with Red Wing Stoneware and the merged company became known as Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The glaze on this jug indicates it was manufactured after 1895; the bottom marking indicates it was manufactured before the merger happened in 1906. This stoneware jug has a total height of approximately 13 3/8" from the surface it is setting on, to the shoulder is approximately 8 7/8" and the bottom is approximately 8 7/8" in diameter. This auction is for a Vintage Whiskey or Moonshine Crock Jug. It is brown on top an lighter color on bottom. Has a handle and cork. I do not know if the cork is original to the bottle. I do not want to try to remove it for fear it will break or crack apart. Measures 11" tall not including cork. Some pits and seeds from when it was made. Has a small ding in side which I think is from when it was made because it is glazed over. Not exposed. Small hole in bottom but I don't think it goes through to inside, but I cant guarantee it without verifying it by taking out cork, which I don't dare do because it will crack. Some scratches and divots from when it was made. Çouple small chips on top and bottom of jug has some of the brown paint from top splattered on it when it was made. Bottom Marked 1 Gal. Stoneware Cone Top Jug by Buckeye Pottery Macomb, Illinois
For your consideration is a one gallon cone top shoulder jug. Made of stoneware. Debossed into the bottom it says: THE BUCKEYE POTTERY CO MACOMB ILL The writing is glazed over, but I could see 0 punctuation. This company existed 1882-1941. I assume this jug was one of the first pieces this company manufactured that had white glaze, because the turkey eye dripping leads me to believe it was fired right after salt glazed items were fired. The height is almost 10 1/2" and the bottom is approximately 7" in diameter. There are 0 cracks, however there is a very minor(probably insignificant) chip.

Vintage One Quart Stoneware Brown Top Shoulder Jug
For your consideration is brown top shouder jug. It is made of stoneware and has a one quart capacity. I do not know who manufactured this jug. I have read extensively about stoneware; I have yet to read of any company having the capability to mass produce stoneware items with this glaze before 1895. I have yet to read of any company mass producing utilitarian stoneware items after 1947. The maximum height(not counting the cork) is 7 1/4" From the bottom to the unglazed shoulder is 4 7/8" The diameter is 4 1/2" This jug has 0 cracks. However next to the opening is a minor chip. There are glaze skips and a place on the shoulder that touched another item during firing.

This is a very fine Western Stoneware 2 gallon crock jug. It is 12 inches tall and has a 8.75 inches diameter base. It is two-tone with a vivid brown top and a cream colored body. It has a big blue number 2 and a blue western stoneware maple leaf on the body. There appears to be only minor ware on the base. There are no visible chips on the handle or spout. There are some minor chips on the top edge of the body. The overall presentation is very nice with great luster. This would make a very nice display item.

This is a fantastic antique two-toned brown and natural glazed stoneware whisky jug from Tennessee that is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. It is beautiful all over with the rich. Even, shiny, brown glaze on the top and the even natural toned glaze on the bottom that is covered with natural crazing from age(shown in the last photo) giving it a charming vintage look. There is some light scuffing and scratching on the surface, but no other obvious damage. I haven't tried to fill it, but it is the same size as other 5 gallon jugs I have and it is definitely larger than a 3 gallon, so I believe it holds 5 gallons. It measures 11" W x 18" H and will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Offered is this vintage or antique glazed stoneware jug with a round top. I describe the color as a sort of grayish-beige. But the color varies a bit on different parts of the jug. It stands about 8" high and is approx. 5 1/2" across on the bottom. It has a cork in so I could not measure the capacity without removing and probably damaging the cork. But I would guess 1/2 gallon or maybe 2 1/2 or 3 quarts? The jug is in very good condition. I see no cracks. Antique Cobalt McCoy Marked 4 Gal Brown Top Stoneware Whisky Shoulder Jug
This is an original antique brown top whisky jug with McCoy marking in cobalt blue and nice shiny even glaze. There absolutely no cracks. But the bottom edge has a few chips near the front(shown in the photos) and there is a small flake of glaze missing from the mouth of the jug. It holds four gallons and measures 19" H x 10" W. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Interesting find. I have never see a jug like this so I am not sure how it is used. Would love any ideas from fellow ebayers. A large stoneware jug with that rich dark brown glaze with a flat top and a spout and handle. It is marked on the top"Pat Aug 7th 1894" On the bottom, I can make out a stamped JUL and a 6 and that's all. The jug is tall 9 1/4" by 7 1/2" wide. Great looking old tyme stoneware whiskey style 1 gallon jug with a single handle. It measures approx. 11" tall and 7" across the bottom. There are many flaws in the finish that have been there since the jug was produced. Even the chip on the bottom rim has a glaze on it so probably original. Study pictures for condition. Vintage Brown & Tan Glazed Top Whiskey Jug Crock W/ Cork Top 9 1/2" Tall
There are no markings on this jug. There is a chip on the bottom and on the neck. Near the handle, see photos. The fourth photo shows a closeup of the top rim which may appear as a chip, however, after close examination, this defect was made in the making of this jug. Stands 9 1/2" tall. The diameter is 5 1/2" across the bottom. There is crazing under the glaze on the bottom portion and a number of poc marks, very crudely made.
