Glazed, stoneware shoulder jug with applied slip handle is approximately 9 1/2" tall and 7" in diameter. It has a bee-hive shape and a dark rich brown color glaze that is iridescent in some light. It is very good condition given its age and likely use. There is a chip at its base(see photo) that is nearly unobservable given the color of the stoneware. The jug is sound and un-cracked, despite its chip. This jug is easily 80 to 100 years old, given the family's Kentucky history. It weighs 6.2 pounds. Antique 5 Gallon Brown Glazed Top Tennessee Stoneware Pottery Whisky Beehive Jug
This is a fantastic antique two-toned brown and natural glazed stoneware whisky jug from Tennessee that is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. It is beautiful all over with the rich. Even, shiny, brown glaze on the top and the even natural toned glaze on the bottom that is covered with natural crazing from age(shown in the last photo) giving it a charming vintage look. There is some light scuffing and scratching on the surface, but no other obvious damage. I haven't tried to fill it, but it is the same size as other 5 gallon jugs I have and it is definitely larger than a 3 gallon, so I believe it holds 5 gallons. It measures 11" W x 18" H and will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Antique Glazed Brown Stoneware Beehive Moonshine Jug Circa 1880 -Rare small size
Up for sale is a rare size Antique glazed dark brown Stoneware Beehive Moonshine Jug circa 1880-1900. This jug measures 6 3/8" tall from the top of the handle to the base. The base measures 5" across. This was meant to be filled for individual daily use. LOL. It was difficult to get the accurate color to reflect in the pictures because of lighting and camera flash but this jug is not 2 toned. It is one solid dark brown. When it was in the kiln it was too close to another jug which is the reason for the area on the side which measures about 1 1/4" wide and 1" tall. There is another spot where the jug must have"dinged" with another by all appearances that happened during the making process. The clip is perfect as is the handle. HERE IS A RARER SMALLER I SAY HALF GALLON JUG THAT IS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS. THE BOTTOM HAS A FEW DINGS AND THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED WITH NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OVER THE YEARS, THE SMALLER JUGS WOULD HAVE BEEN USED IN THE HOUSE WHERE THE GALLON ONES OR LARGER WERE USED FOR STORAGE. THE JUG IS IN A BEEHIVE SHAPE WITH FLAT HANDLE FROM THE TOP OF OPENING TO THE TOP OF JUG. IT STANDS ABOUT 7" TALL AND IS 6' ACROSS.THERE'S A FEW RUB MARKS AND A FEW CHIPS ON THE BOTTOM LIKE I SAID SO PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES FOR A DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION AND ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE. Up for bids is this old antique STONEWARE WHISKEY JUG. It is tan color and app 8"tall. It would be considered to be a Beehive Jug due to it's shape. Actually. It is wider at both the top and also the very bottom when compared to the most narrow place. No writing identification on the jug. Just an average old jug in average condition with a few chips in the bottom.
