Antique Stoneware: 19thC. 1 Gal. Jug w/ Primitive Cobalt Decoration, *NR*
BEAUTIFUL 1 GALLON ANTIQUE STONEWARE/COBALT JUG featuring a handsome cobalt design. Jug is approximately 12" tall and the base diameter measures 7" There are no marker's marks. The handle is in great shape. There is. However, a chip out of the jug lip(see photo) It is quite smooth so it has probably been there for many years. There are a few small chips on the front(see photos) Again, they are smooth and appear quite old. There is a very thin and tight hairline 5" crack at the back of the jug which extends on to base of the jug- about 3" The jug appears quite stable and these imperfections do not distract from its charm and beauty. I am not an expert and selling in"as-is" condition. I am downsizing and have to let go of some of my treasures. Happy bidding! No minimum.

19th C A.K. Ballard Bennington Vt saltglaze 2 gal. stoneware jug w cobalt flower
Offered here as a buy it now or best offer is this 2 gallon A.K. Ballard(Bennington Vermont) salt glaze stoneware jug with a rather impressive floral cobalt decoration. Aside from some glaze drips the sole apology I can find is a barely perceptible'spider' to the side as shown in my last picture(the small'irregularities' to the glaze shown in my 9th and 10th pictures are. I believe, in the manufacturing of the jug) However, the spider is sufficiently tight and small that I'm not sure it isn't simply in the glaze(cant see, of course, that far into the interior of the jug) Nevertheless, as my pictures show, the cobalt is massive and impressive. ba sically encompassing the whole front-side of the jug. USPS domestic shipping with insurance will run $2 2. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*3A%3Cd%3Ff6%3E-13df8b184b1-0xfd-

ANTIQUE 4 GAL STONEWARE JUG/CROCK,KEENE, N.H., COBALT BLUE DECORATION
Here is a large 4-gallon antique stoneware jug crock made in Keene. New Hampshire. I can't quite make out the top line, looks a lot like J. S. Taft, xxxx-xx- N.Y. but not sure. It has an elaborate cobalt blue decoration with vines, flower and leaves, tendrils etc. This jug is about 19" tall and approx. 10-3/4" across the diameter at the base and about 34-35 inches in circumference at the widest part of the jug. The top and side(of the spout) have very old chips. There is an"in-the-making" defect in the front that you can view with the e-bay magnifier. I do not see any hairlines or cracks, just the very old chips on top and side of spout. I have had this for decades. Packing and shipping by UPS, see handling fee for packing. See my items for sale. Antique Ottman Bros.Ft. Edward N.Y. Stoneware Jug Signed&Virtually Perfect-2 Gal
Tonight's Auction is for an Antique Stoneware Jug from Ottman Bros. in Fort Edward N.Y. Late 1800's salt glazed. Signed in Blue and in Wonderful Condition, no cracks, or chips and nice and clean. It's about 11 1\8 inches tall and 7 1\8 inches wide at the base. Made to be a 2 Gallon Jug most likely, but will hold close to 5 Quarts. A great piece for someone's collection who wants jugs and crocks that are signed and with no damage. Early 5 Gal Stoneware Whisky Jug US Standard Pottery East Liverpol Ohio VGC
Rare. Early, 5 Gal Stoneware Jug US Standard Pottery East Liverpool Ohio VGC Description: Rare. Early, 5 Gal Stoneware Jug, marked with the logo of the US Standard Pottery Company, East Liverpool Ohio This lovely jug comes from an Estate Auction in Southern Florida. It took me quite a while to identify this jug. Many jugs are described as being rare. This one is. It was made by the US Standard Pottery Company in East Liverpool. Ohio. The company is listed as manufacturing ceramics from 1886-1927. There were earlier pottery manufacturers in this area with the name of Standard. But information is scarce. The eagle logo is correct for US Standard. During the years that US Standard was producing a wide range of products. The East Liverpool, Ohio area was know as"The Pottery Capital of the World" The area had high quality clay and a ... morecommunity of skilled ceramic artisans. I would suggest that the current very good condition of this 5 gallon jug testifies to the high quality of manufacturing. The jug is 19.75" tall and 11.5" in diameter. The height from the base to the shoulder is 13' From the photos you can see the expected imperfections from its original firing. Age discoloration on the shoulder and a few areas where small chips of glaze have been lost. There are no cracks or other issues that I am aware of. It's a lovely pieice of stoneware. The light colored glaze is amazingly beautiful for its age. The shape is delightful and overall, its just a charming piece of antiquity. And, it's at a good price.

PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE~1-GAL. SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE MOONSHINE JUG w/Applied Handle
This heavy. 1-gallon antique salt-glazed stoneware crock jug is a beauty! I'm not sure what was in it originally, but I'd guess hard liquor or moonshine. It has a lovely light cream to putty-colored salt glaze finish, with a hand-applied handle, and possible two-piece body construction. The surface has a wonderful patina, and the inside has the same creamy glaze. There are some scrapes on the mouth and top of the handle that are old enough to beautifully blend into the color of the salt glaze, a few stray dark marks, a few extra bits of clay stuck here and there, and no other damage that I can find. A very unique piece from a bygone era! Unsure of maker. From the late 1800s-early 1900s. I see no damage other than what I've already described. Could use a good cleaning. See photos. 8" tall x 7 1/4" in diameter. PLEASE ... moreALSO VISIT MY SISTER STORE. CROSS CREEK MARKET! I am always happy to combine shipping to save buyers money. Bottom Marked 1 Gal. Stoneware Cone Top Jug by Buckeye Pottery Macomb, Illinois
For your consideration is a one gallon cone top shoulder jug. Made of stoneware. Debossed into the bottom it says: THE BUCKEYE POTTERY CO MACOMB ILL The writing is glazed over, but I could see 0 punctuation. This company existed 1882-1941. I assume this jug was one of the first pieces this company manufactured that had white glaze, because the turkey eye dripping leads me to believe it was fired right after salt glazed items were fired. The height is almost 10 1/2" and the bottom is approximately 7" in diameter. There are 0 cracks, however there is a very minor(probably insignificant) chip.

early 19th C 3 gal saltglaze stoneware jug w. rare incised bird, as is
Boy. Where to begin here? To say this jug has issues is a bit of an understatement: At some point, someone dropped it and it broke into multiple pieces. I count 14 pieces, though I may have missed one or double counted one. Then they glued it all back together, so you see it as it is. I would have to say neither the word'hairline' or'crack' seems adequate. But clearly, we can be thankful they didn't throw it all away, because otherwise she is indeed a rarity- the early 19th C ovoid form with a boldly incised bird that would otherwise make this piece a centerpiece of anyone's collection. But here is, that's what I have. And since it wasn't me that broke it or glued it together, I have no idea what glue was used and thus cannot be certain of the opportunities for restoration. As for dimensions, she's appx ... more15" high, 10" in diameter at its widest point and 6" at the base(what you see on the base is some tape residue from when, I assume, she was being glued together) Offered without reserve, domestic USPS shipping will run $36(if less I will refund) RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2Bf54%3E-14563241fb8-0x10d-
