MAGNIFICENT MAJOLICA GLAZE GODWIN `FLOWERS WITH SNAIL` 8 INCH TILE
This superb tile was made by William Godwin. Lugwardine, Hereford around 1900. It has a heavily moulded pattern of leaves and flowers with a snail at the bottom. The whole pattern is coloured with strong majolica glazes. The tile is 8 inches square and is very heavy. The back of the tile is shown in picture#2. It is in good condition apart from a little rubbing to a couple of high points in the pattern although this does not affect the appearance on the tile. Antiques. Collectables, Paintings, Fine Ceramics and Glass 3 FRAMED 18 TH. CENTURY DUTCH DELFT MANGANESE TILES These three Dutch. Delft, manganese tiles are dated to around 1750. They make a superb set mounted in their frame. The ground is cream and design is in purplish brown colour. The scenes on the tiles are of the canal with windmill. Boats and farm or church with small designs in the corners. They are uniquely hand painted in this wonderfully naive style. The condition of all 3 tiles is particularly good for this age. There are a few frits and nibbles to the edge. Some crazing and the tile on the right is slightly brown on the top, this may be the result of old tobacco smoke. Each tile measures 13cm x 13 cm x 7mm(approximately) or 5¼ inches x 5¼ inches. I'm afraid the colour looks varied as I was having problems with my camera. Manganese is a mineral used since Egyptian times to stain glazes and bodies. The colour varies depending on the glaze. Lead glazes give a purplish brown colour. As with these tiles. Manganese mixed with iron in an alkaline glaze creates a rich black tone. Delftware tiles were very popular. Popular decorative motifs included landscapes and flowers. With smaller designs in each corner. In Britain early delftware copied the Dutch manganese palette. Crazing, cracks or losses of any kind. Label on back of tile reads KUMSTINSTITUT FUR PORZELLAN MALEREI MERKEL-HEINE WIESBADEN. There is an impressed mark 115 and hand written in pencil 1489. There is also a handwritten label which I am unable to read and have pictured. I believe it may be the artist. Labels at the edge attach the tile to the frame. These labels are for Foster Brothers, 4 Park Square, Boston. The gold cardboard backing is held in place with brass nails. It is secure but some of the nails are missing. Maw & Co. Relief Tile Classic Woman Looking in Mirror Antique Victorian Framed
This nicely designed tile is a little gem. 4" x 8" It is an excellent example of good British relief sculpture. The frame just hugs the edges and the resulting object has nice depth.The classical woman, Greek or Roman, seems to be in a window or doorway. The frame is 1 1/2 inches deep. The gold trim adds to the illusion of depth. The tile can be removed from the frame by peeling some tape and pulling out some pins.

Up for auction are 16 vintage mirrored architectural tiles recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. Each tile measures approximately 4" x 4" in size. Each have a gold pattern of stars and diamonds in a repeating pattern. They are all found in good used condition. The only condition issue to report is a chipped corner on one tile and a rough side on another. It has a nice 50's look and would be great as a splash back in a mid century modern setting. At one time, they may have been self sticking but you will need an adhesive to mount these now. Will produce a very nice look where a mirrored accent is needed. Very nice hard to find tile table. Marked 1932 and two letters I can't fully make out. Looks to be Taylor but not positive. Table top and legs look all original. Real nice large tile on table top. Table measures 17 1/4 wide and 11 1/4 tall. the tile measures 9 3/4. table wood has some wear from age but is in good solid condition. The tile is intact. Some crazing and light wear. The center of the tile has a round black indentation mark. I have no idea what this is from. Almost a burn mark but it is perfectly round and in the center of the tile. because of it being centered in the tile I think it blends in well. I will consider real offers for the table. RARE Antique Turkish/ Ottoman Kutahya/ Iznik Pottery. BEAUTIFUL Plate Measuring 12.5" in Diameter Up for auction is a rare and beautiful example of early Turkish pottery. A plate from Kutahya dating to the 1st or 2nd quarter of the 20th century. This comes to us form the estate of a family that emigrated out of Iran during the revolution of 1979; this was one of the items they brought out with them when they immigrated to the U.S. at that time. There is an old repair to the rim, as shown below, as well as a couple additional rim chips. However, these do not intrude beyond the rim nor do they interfere with the beautiful, hand-painted classical foliate design, rendered in turquoise, cobalt, green, yellow, and a cupric or ferric red- as can be seen in the photos of the plate, it displays beautifully. The scene is a United States Air Force WWII Fighter Plane pulling out of a dive. Over turbulent seas, with a calm sky in the back ground. NOTE the 5 beautiful horizontal red bands on the rear stabilizer, and the United States Air Force Insignia on the yellow wing tips! It was shortly used as a hot plate or something a long time ago. There is slight wear to the surface, some minor crazing, and some firing imperfections. But NO cracks or chips. This is a GORGEOUS piece of AMERICANA and HISTORY! Vintage Signed Art Tiles
These tiles are 6 in x 6 in. The first tile was broken at some point. And glued back together. There is also tape across the back. I looked these up and the best I can tell is that they are Ucagco and are signed by the same artist. They have not been cleaned. There are two small holes in the top of each one and I assume they are for hanging.

Flint Faience& Tile Co. Flint, MI 1921-1933 Flint Faience is known for their award winning, hand-made tiles. They were a subsidiary of The A.C. Spark Plug Company and General Motors, and to make use of the under-used spark plug kilns, the tile company was born. Tiles this size are called insert tiles, and were used in installations among solid color tiles for decoration. 2 RARE CAMILLE THARAUD LIMOGES FRANCE PATE SUR PATE OVAL PLAQUE c.1900
2 beautiful and very rare gems are these early 1900s French Camille Tharaud Limoges pâte-sur-pâte enameled porcelain plaques with oval ormolu frames. Pate sur pate(paste on paste) is a process of porcelain type clay being built up to produce the raised detailed images and then enameled. The frames are in gilt metal. A technique called Ormolu. Click link to find out more about this process. Each depict a woman dancing and playing instruments of some sort. They measure approx 8"H x 5 1/4"W To me they appear different sizes sitting next to each other in the picture but I can assure you they are the same size. Bit of an optical illusion. These will hang beautifully offset at the end of a hallway or anywhere else. These are not easy pieces to find and to find a pair of them together is even harder. On the front face it has a very small chip in the lower left-hand corner/edge that is hardly noticable from the front(see last picture) The design of this ART TILE is a nice maroon and white flower with large green leaves. The tile has corner designs in a yellow color. On the back there is no name or manufacturer name that I can see. There are concentric rings with the outer ring having a mark of the letter"G" in a circle and directly opposite that the number"4" Also. Circa 1800's. This antique Ceramic Tile Stove is an exquisite piece that could have come right out of a Williams-Sonoma catalogue. It is covered on 3 sides with beautiful patterned emerald green ceramic tile. Measuring 30" long. 25" wide, and 40" tall, it has solid sturdy nickel-plated cast iron feet which have a beautiful aged patina. A metal tag on the front bears the name" F. Pesser Verviers" and the top lifts off for viewing the interior. The stove has a front compartment(possibly for wood or coal burning) and 2 bottom drawers. This Antique Tile Stove is in good condition with some minor surface wear. Which is expected considering the age of this piece. Antique Floral Tile from Japan
Beautiful high-glazed colorful tile from Japan. We don't know who made this tile but it has fine workmanship and dates back to around 1900. The art nouveau style was copied from the English. But it is more colorful than the original designs. The glaze has slight crackling from age. There is evidence of wear on edges; is a tiny chip on one edge is noticeable(see upper left side of photo) Overall, for a 100+ year old tile, it is in very good condition. It measures 5 3/4" square x 5/8" thick.

TRENT PORTRAIT TILES OF A MAN AND A WOMAN
A beautiful matched pair of portrait tiles. The sculptor and ceramic artist Isaac Broome was the lead designer for Trent tiles of Trenton. NJ. in the 1880's-1900.These striking tiles are a matched set and were never installed in a building. You can see in the photos that there is some very faint crazing which is expected in ceramics of this era. The green glaze retains it's original depth of color.The high relief of the sculptures give the appearance that they gaze into each others eyes. The word TRENT is on the back of each tile. We present an original Dutch Delft Blue tile from Holland. It depicts a sailboat at sea. Nicely glazed surface. The clay is coarse and porous with a lot of mica(sparkling inclusions) There is no crazing. The surface has several miniscule glaze bubbles(blisters) On the whole. The tile is in a remarkably good pre-owned condition! There are no breakages. Or cracks that run through the fired clay, no chips, but only one small flake at the lower right corner(not visible on the surface) The tile is not stamped. But it bears a striking resemblance to two tiles by Tichelaar Makkum, that are listed separately. It dates prior to 1974. PLEASE NOTE THE SIZE. It is 3 X 3 inches and not 4 X4.
