1800's Antique Salt Glazed Whiskey Jug with turkey droppings
Antique 1800's salt glazed whiskey jug with desirable"turkey droppings" It is in very good shape. No chips at all and only a hairline crack on one side and half way on the bottom. It does not go all the way through. This was found in a old shed that has been untouched for atleast 40 or more years. I don't know the exact year of the jug, it is thought to be the 1800's. No stamps or markings found on the piece.

It measures approximately 9 3/4 iinches tall with a 5 1/4 inch base. It's a 2 quart size with glazing inside.and is a grayish.brownish color. It has some small chips on the rim and a chip on the base which measures about 1 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. There is no makers mark.nor is there any moonshine left in it!

The glazing on top is of brown swill. the bottom portion thinly glazed of gray color. Appears to be a two piece with the molded handle being put on after the jug mold and then glazed. Shows very little wear and observed no scratches couple of dings here and there. A few pin tip glaze flaws as you would expect. B ottom is lightly glazed. bottom has a crack but has not gone through. This is an old stoneware/ceramic jug/crock that has been in storage for a lot of years. Could it have been used for whiskey or moonshine? It is a tannish gray at the bottom with brown at the top. No markings on it and no cork. Does have the usual blemishes that come with something this primitive and has a small chip at the bottom(could have been original) I'm not a good judge- this is probably about a one gallon size. Antique C Hermann Whiskey Jug Salt Glazed Rust and Brown Tones 1 gallon
This is a wonderful old crockery sipping jug. Although I do not know how anyone could possibly sip from a jug as heavy as this. This weighs almost 10 pounds, you can tell it is a very old jug the minute you lift it. On the jug is the emblem for C. Hermann& Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We looked this company up and they stopped making this kind of jug in 1875 so it cannot be newer than that. It is in remarkable condition with no chips or cracks. This jug is almost 9 inches high and about 6 inches in diameter. The jug has a salt glaze. The red brown color occupies the first 2/3 of the jug and then moves to dark brown to tan. The bottom is unglazed. As I said this is a very heavy item. Careful packaging requires a larger box that will hold substantial packaging material. Vintage 1930's/1940's or earlier large jug crock with cork. It measures 12" tall with a 6 1/2" outside diameter at base. The capacity looks like 1- 1 1/2 gallons. It is a heavy thick wall salt glaze glazed stoneware stone ware pottery jug with a cup style side handle near the top. The crock is in very good condition. It is glazed brown on the top half and tan on the bottom half. The exterior bottom is glazed in the center area and unglazed around the rim showing the stoneware. There is a remnants of a loose cork left. The crock displays beautifully and shows normal use wear as pictured. This is a very well made heavy. Thick walled jug. It is sold as is. $16.00 postage.

This is a great vintage find. It came from an"of a 89 year old woman. She said it was her fathers and mothers. The jug is in wonderful condition. There is only one small chip on it. It is on the side of the mouth(see picture 4) There has NOT been any repairs. There are no cracks on the jug. Just that one small chip. I measures 9 1/2" X 8" some surface scratches nothing dramatic. The one gallon jug is made of stoneware and with brown glazed also has the original corncob stopper. I have not tried to clean it. I always leave that to the new owner. This is a AS IS sale. There is normal vintage some normal wear,discoloration and overall"old" look. Measures approximately 9" tall and approximately 6" wide. with cork lid. Very nice collectible. I know very little about this item so please ask questions. there is 2 small splits on handle and one on lip of jug. to me they look like they have been there since it was made. Antique VTG 5 Gallon Whiskey Jug Stoneware Glazed Crock Cobalt Blue 5 Up for auction is a really nice antique 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock. It stands 17 ½”tall and is11 ½” in diameter. It is in pretty nice condition with a few flaws. There is a spider crack as seen in the first 2 pictures. This is a surface issue and does not impact the structure and integrity of the jug. Also. A bubble in the glazing has“popped” giving the appearance of a chip; this is seen in the 4th picture. There are no other cracks or chips. It has the cobalt 5 and the nice rounded shoulder. The brown glaze is also in very nice condition with a some nicks around. Flash highlights most nicks brighter than they really are. Camera flash in middle of jug in every photo. No cracks. It is much nicer than the camera shows. Cork is intact; a little darker on the bottom from use. Great ole' jug found at an estate sale. Wonderful primitive from long ago. Old 1-Gallon Whiskey Moon Shine Jug 2-Tone Cream and Brown Glazed Stoneware
This wonderful item being offered is an old. 1 gallon moonshine jug with thumb handle. This nice piece of glazed pottery is almost 12 inches tall and 7 inches wide at the bottom, and weighs almost 6 pounds. This old jug is in good condition. The jug does show wear with scuff marks, dings, etc. and has a few chips on the side of the jug(see last photo) Please look at photos carefully.
