vintage stoneware crock moonshine or whiskey jug. measures approx 11 3/4" high and 6 1/2" wide at its widest. 6 1/2" round at the bottom. it's two tone brown with the top being the dark brown and the bottom a greyish tan. couldn't find any makers marks. also didn't see any chips or cracks. great different size jug for your pottery collection. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Offered is this small vintage or antique beige and dark brown moonshine whiskey jug. The jug stands approx. 9 1/4" high. Is 5 1/2" across at the base and holds about 1/2 gallon. It is in very good condition. There is a small rough area on the top of the handle which is partially glazed over so apparently done while being made. There are numerous bumps and raised areas along the sides. Also glazed over. There are some small chips some stray dark brown glaze along the top rim. I purchased this at a recent farm sale; there is one 3/4" chip on the edge/rim close to the number"2" see picture) It is white in color and the spout and handle shows either a light glaze line. Faint crack or original mold mark. I can't really tell but it just adds to it's character and doesn't affect it's useability. There are some darker age spots& lines visible also. This is a nice old Appalachian one gallon whiskey jug. This is a very old jug. With nice antique texture and color. It has a couple of small chips in the rim and a larger chip in the base, but the jug is structurally intact and stable. It will hold liquid, no cracks or holes. The base is 7" in diameter and the jug is 10 3/4" tall. I picked up this jug on the World's Longest Yard Sale here in Northeast Alabama. This old crock is in reaaly good condition and I am offering it as found. I have not cleaned the jug. It has some dust on it. But the fine craftsmanship and wonderful color are easy to see. VINTAGE SALT GLAZED GALLON JUG MOONSHINE CORN WHISKEY JUG TWO TONE– BROWN& CREAM FINGER HANDLE Wonderful old salt glazed gallon jug in traditional brown and cream. Unglazed rim and bottom. Measures 11" high with a 7-1/8" diameter at the base. No major chips(in fact. I don't see any on the rim at all, where they usually occur-see photo and judge for yourself) No cracks or breaks. A few places near the bottom where the maker did not apply glaze, as is typical of older pieces. A few light brown streaks-see last photo. Nice fine clean age-related crazing evenly spread over the entire jug, giving it a neat appearance-see next to last photo for example(use zoom feature) See high resolution pictures for more!
