$17.30 Shipping Location: Shelburne, United States We are pleased to offer a beautiful antique stoneware ovoid jelly crock. Finished in dark brown Albany Slip glaze. This crock was beautifully formed and ... morehas great color. These are hard to find and are great accent pieces. Pottery makers across upstate New York turned out millions of pieces of utilitarian stoneware in the 19th century. It was not considered valuable and as such. Was not preserved or well cared for. Much of it was finished in a dark brown glaze called Albany Slip. The glaze was high in mineral content which accounts for the variations in color- it can be almost black to lighter shades of brown. The firing process caused color variations as well. Many of the pieces show the fingerprints of the pottery who dipped the piece into the glaze before firing. We will be offering a number of these pieces in the coming weeks. They are great for accenting country or primitive decor. Please be sure to add us to your and check back often. Condition: Overall very good. There is 1 stone blast(a stone in the clay blew out during firing) and several areas that didn't get covered with glaze(as seen in photos) Size: 4 7/8" diameter at the top. Narrowing to 3 3/8" at the bottom; 5 1/4" deep. Shipping: Buyer to pay actual shipping costs; insurance is included as a handling fee. We are happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases. Antique Stoneware: Rare L. Kendall Ovoid Jug w/ Cobalt, Chelsea, MA, ca.1840, NR
An uncommon 2Gal. Ovoid Jug from Massachusetts. Ca.1840's. This bears The cobalt-washed stamp of Loammi Kendall, who started a small stoneware manufactory around 1836 in Chelsea, just north of Boston. His production numbers were relatively small and his name is rarely mentioned in discussions of early New England potters(L. Watkins, pp.45-46) This appears to be one of Kendall's earlier Ovoids. The form is not perfect, and the top indented- most likely bottom-stacked in the kiln. The upper and lower handle terminals are primitively brushed with vibrant Cobalt, and there is a wonderful hand-carved stopper that sits perfectly in the spout. This piece has typical manufacturing imperfections(clay scars, stack marks, inclusions, etc. but no post-production flaws! Please see photos for further description and details. A fine, early example ... morewith a primitive character that will not disappoint. This 2Gal. Ovoid weighs 8.2 lbs and measures approximately 9-1/2"W x 12-3/4"H overall. The wood stopper adds another 1-1/2" 7-Days with No Reserve! I ship professionally and promptly with tracking and full insurance included. Charming Little ANTIQUE 19THC OVOID STONEWARE JUG Irregular Shape 8-INCH HIGH
I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a nice LITTLE ANTIQUE 19THC OVOID STONEWARE JUG. It is 8" high. Looks to be approx. Mid-19thC vintage. But uncertain of precise age. Irregular shape with droopy top lip and indented on one side. Jug has two incised lines around the shoulder. I not believe the jug has any chips. There is a"patchy" area on the top of the handle, but upon close examination it looks to be probably a manufacture flaw, as it appears to have the original glaze over this area(see close-up for your own examination) A small dent spot on the front of the jug also looks to be a manufacture flaw. Nice little Jug. Will pack with care for buyer as with all my items. INSURANCE INCLUDED in the shipping total. Massachusetts residents need to add the 6.25% sales tax. ... moreLook for my other nice Old Items I am listing as well. See listing for payment and shipping details. Very nice and in great condition. Has a small blow out when it was fired. Measures 7 1/2 INches Nice brownish olive green slip on front and around top. This had been used as a lamp about 50 years ago and there is still a piece of the lam part jiggling around inside. Antique American Folk Pottery Hand Thrown Ovoid Stoneware Jug With Drip Pattern
Here for your consideration is an antique American Folk pottery stoneware jug. This is a hand thrown piece. Ovoid in shape, measuring 12 1/2" tall and is 5" in diameter at the base. This has a deep tan salt glaze finish with a drip glaze design and circular rib marks. There is no potter's stamp or other identification marks but the ovoid shape is earlier than the straight sided shape. This would indicate it dates to about the mid 1800's. This is in good condition with some character flaws common in the manufacturing of these pieces like glaze skips and small"grit" pieces. There is a small nick on the belly but nothing that distracts from the beauty of the piece. There is a chip to the lower edge rim but it is glazed over so I think it must have happened during its removal from the wheel and is part of the piece's ... morecharacter. All other wear is reflective of age and use. All sales are final so please ask questions before you bid. Payment is through Paypal. NO international sales or shipping at this time. Shipping includes insurance. Thank you for looking and good luck.

Measures approx 4 3/4" across and 5 1/2" tall. A couple of small chips on bottom lip expose a dark grey clay clay and glaze match so closely they are difficult to notice. Bottom and bottom edge each have fingerprint sized bend in clay(likely moved while wet) This is a special jug! Photos are part of the description. Please see photos for condition and email any questions. Will combine shipping of multiple items sold. Shop early for Christmas or Hanukkah! Have a relaxing holiday with your shopping out of the way. Antique Primitive Stoneware Very Early Reddish Brown Glaze Ovoid Jug 1800's
Up for auction from our own collection is a very early Reddish Brown Glazed Stoneware Ovoid Jug. We bought this at a Wisconsin farm auction over 35 years ago. It stands 10 5/8" tall. And is 5" in diameter across the base and approximately 7" in the middle. This is a very early piece of stoneware and I would guess it to be from the 1850's to the 1880's- but please look carefully and do your own dating. It is in excellent condition with just the small pictured chips on the top of the rim spout and some glaze pops. There is also a glaze miss on the handle. High Bidder to pay by Pay Pal within 2 days of auction's close. Please No International Bidders and ask any questions before bidding. High bidder to pay $13.00 S/I. Thanks for looking!

EXTRA LARGE 3 GALLON OVOID JUG STONEWARE BLUE DECORATION ANTIQUE AS OFFERED
This large antique ovoid jug was acquired at a New Hampshire estate sale a short while ago. It is a beautiful jug with blue on it and these large specimens of ovoid shape are getting really hard to find. Unfortunately. This jug has received some abuse and there are cracks throughout and two small chips on the bottle mouth. Look carefully at the pictures to make sure these are defects that you can live with-still, this jug is very impressive. The cracks start at the top(two of them)one goes through the blue decoration and splits in two and then travel about. In the blue area, you can clearly see the number 3 stamped. There is also a weak name stamp but the only letters I can make out are" ANNGE. The backside crack runs alongside the handle and down and then crosses over under it. This all being said, the cracks are still quite tight but ... moreI would not be swinging it around by its handle-best to pick this up by its bottom. There is a chip on the bottom and as you can see there are felt circles to protect surfaces. There are several flaws in the glaze and a couple of kiln"bumps" all made in the jug's production. It measures about 15" tall. While I make every effort to give an accurate description. Please look and read carefully before you bid as I do not accept returns unless I have grossly misrepresented an item. If you have any questions, PLEASE EMAIL ME and I will answer ASAP. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE AS MAILING OVERSEAS CAN BE COSTLY. ACTUAL VALUE WILL BE DECLARED ON CUSTOMS FORMS. Risk of loss or damage is yours. You may choose insurance to protect yourself. Payment is expected within three days of auction's end. Shipment will be made within three business days of cleared payment or check. As a seller. I generally do not initiate feedback but am happy to return feedback left for me. Also, I will not end an auction early, even to entertain a very generous offer. As always, thank you for looking and please check out my other items. RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,R

VERY LARGE OVOID STONEWARE JUG BY CLARK & FOX ATHENS NEW YORK - A BEAUTY
THIS BEAUTIFUL JUG STANDS APPROXIMATELY 16 1/2 INCHES TALL X APPROXIMATELY 12 INCHES WIDE. IT HAS CHIPS ON THE RIM AND A HAIRLINE RUNNING FROM THE RIM DOWN TO THE BLUE DECORATION WHICH HAS AN OFFSHOOT THAT RUNS TO THE RIGHT AND LEADS TO A HOLE. A FURTHER LINE RUNS FROM THE HOLE TO JUST UNDERNEATH THE HANDLE AND GROWS LESS OBVIOUS AS IT GOES. SURPRISINGLY THE JUG APPEARS QUITE STABLE AT THIS POINT BUT I WOULD NOT HOLD IT BY ITS HANDLE. THERE IS ANOTHER HAIRLINE THAT RUNS FROM THE HOLE UP TO THE RIM THAT MEASURES ABOUT 3 INCHES. IN SPITE OF THESE FLAWS THIS IS STILL A VERY BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF STONEWARE AND MOST IMPRESSIVE IN SIZE AND SHAPE. PLEASE VIEW THE PHOTOS AS PART OF THE DESCRIPTION AND CONTACT US PRIOR TO BIDDING IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO REPLY. SHIPPING FOR THE JUG VIA USPS. The handle is noticeably chipped to one side of the incised decoration from long ago adding further to the character of the ovoid. There is no staining or discoloration. The jug has a 1/2” drilled hole near the base and must have been used as a lamp at one time and could again if desired. This is truly a lovely Antique 2 Gallon“Ovoid” Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Blue Accents marked“GOODWIN WEBSTER” which makes a striking display.
