Description: T his is an old Beer Crock with a handle found in an old barn here in New Hampshire. There are no markings to identify it but the pronounced lip means that it held contents under pressure and the cork could be tied down to resist the pressure. The bottle is about 8 ½” tall and 4” wide. There are a few nibbles here and there but it remains in pretty good shape with nice color as you can tell from my pictures. This is an antique primitive beehive crock jug that belonged to my Mom. It appears to be very old but does not have any markings on the bottom. The handle is bent. But appears to be the original handle. There are a few spots where the glaze did not stick to the crock when it was glazed. There is a dark spot near the top of the jug. There are also a few chips around the top and bottom edges. The jug is about 10 1/2" tall and 25" around at the widest point. PayPal only please. Up for your bidding consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made in the USA. On the front in gold is a crest with words that appear to be Latin. Under the crest it says in gold Spring'71. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. Vintage crock jug with handle. The jug is appr. 11 1/2"tall and appr. 11' around. On the front it says J. Friedrich-Grosskarben, there is also other print on the front that is hard to make out. This auction is for a Vintage Whiskey or Moonshine Crock Jug. It is brown on top an lighter color on bottom. Has a handle and cork. I do not know if the cork is original to the bottle. I do not want to try to remove it for fear it will break or crack apart. Measures 11" tall not including cork. Some pits and seeds from when it was made. Has a small ding in side which I think is from when it was made because it is glazed over. Not exposed. Small hole in bottom but I don't think it goes through to inside, but I cant guarantee it without verifying it by taking out cork, which I don't dare do because it will crack. Some scratches and divots from when it was made. Çouple small chips on top and bottom of jug has some of the brown paint from top splattered on it when it was made. I am not an expert on crocks or jugs so I will do my best to describe. I am not sure if this is considered stoneware or pottery. It is very large measuring 14 inches tall and measuring 13 1/2 inches across on the thickest part. It has a bulbous looking shape with a handle towards the top. It is a lite green color and has an unusual swirled design around the entire jug. No makers mark not sure who made it. It has a clay looking bottom. The swirl design on the sides has some tiny pin holes which are tiny spots that didnot get glazed all the way. There is one tiny speck ... morethat a few pinholes are together which makes it look like a tiny hole. It is not a chip it is just a tiny speck that did not get glazed on the top. Here is a Vintage Stoneware Whiskey/ Water Jug with a Handle and Cork. It belonged to my in-laws and has been in storage for a long time. If the whole jug is filled it is 2 1/2 Gallons(it has a small corn cob in it that had been used where the cork is) It measures 14 1/2" Tall. 9 3/4" in Width. It weighs almost 10 lbs. empty. I don't know if this is what is considered saltware as there are no markings that I can find. It is in good condition. This is an unusual whiskey/moonshine jug with the wire and wood handle. It is about 9 1/2" to top of jug and is almost 7" across the bottom. This is an old jug and the wire handles are bent. The chip on the top is just glaze deep and the one on the bottom is not bad. Considering the life these had it is a wonder they survived. Not sure how much it holds. Maybe 2 gals or less. The dark part on the bottom is just where the stoneware is darker. Normal flaws. Photos are a part of the description. Bid with confidence. Looks to be about a 1 gallon container. Possibly a water, molasses or syrup jug. This jug is in very good condition with no cracks or chipping. Details can be seen in the photos. It measures approximately 10" tall, 24" wide around the middle and 6 1/2" wide across the bottom. Comes with the original cork firmly in place, though looks as though a part of it has been broken off. Also has a nice iron and wood handle in great condition. Vintage 1 GALLON Handle JUG Brown Glaze Pottery Moonshine Crock Beehive
My parents bought this jug at a rural farm estate sale decades ago. I measured myself and it held approx. one gallon plus two cups of water. No leaks. It stands approx. 9.5" tall, with a 7.5" diameter at the base. I believe the shape is known as"beehive" but I'm not sure.I am NOT an expert on this sort of item! I have examined it carefully and can find no damage other than that associated with many years of normal use. As you can see in the pictures, the bottom surface is quite rubbed, and the underside of the handle is missing the glazed surface. But I see NO cracks and actual chips; there are places where the surface is uneven but I think that was part of the hand made process. There are also small surface bubbles. No maker marks that I can see. I will package carefully with lots of wrapping and foam noodles. Shipping ... morewill be via USPS with tracking and insurance. After listing. I saw the cost of Priority shipping outside my postal zone and it is very expensive! I am now adding a standard shipping option, which will also include tracking and insurance.

brown tan stoneware jug crock vase with handle
I love this stone crock or jug some might say. But I have no idea how old it is. It might be handmade because I can't find any markings on it. The brown trim paint is slightly thicker in one area than the other. Another reason to think it's homemade. There are slight imperfections. It is pretty and it does hold water if you wanted to use it for a vase. There is a small area in the bottom where the paint or glaze is missing. It is just a little over 8 inches tall and almost 7 inches wide at the widest point. The very top is about 5 inches wide. Cool item! Please study pics as I said there are small imperfections. Shipping is high, The crock is heavy but it will be packaged very well to arrive safely.
