Awesome Vintage Brown/Cream 1/2 Gallon 8 1/2" Jug Pitcher. Has a wonderful almost salt-glazed finish to it. In Excellent condition with no cracks.Chips or scratches.The inside is the brown glaze. No markings on the bottom. You can feel the potters wheel marks on the bottom. Quite a heavy pitcher 4lbs 2oz. Would go great with any decor. Take a look at the pictures.

Bottom Marked RedWing Stoneware 1/2 Gallon Jug with Brown Glaze
For your consideration is a jug that was manufactured by Red Wing Stoneware Co. of Red Wing. Minnesota. The debossed writing on the bottom says: RED WING STONEWARE Co. This company was founded in 1877 and existed until 1906; in 1906 it merged with Minnesota Stoneware Co. also located in Red Wing, Minn. and formed Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. This jug was manufactured 1885-1906. This jug was manufactured using a two piece mold and the handle was hand applied after the jug was formed. It is glazed with a shiny brown glaze. This jug has a total height of approximately 7 3/8" the bottom has a diameter of slightly less than 6" and the capacity was advertised as 1/2 of a gallon. This jug has 0 cracks, however on the bottom edge is a chip that can be completely covered with a dime. This jug does have glaze skips. Here is a spectacular 1 gallon size stoneware brown jug. Four scribe lines around the top edge give crispness. The neck is precisely formed. The attachment of handle to the jug shows purpose and care. Two tendrils of glaze add character. This is a very well made piece. The jug is 12 inches tall. And 7 inches in diameter at the bottom, and slightly wider at the top. It is sturdy and structurally well made. It is in very good condition. There is a small rough area on the top of the handle which is partially glazed over so apparently done while being made. Bottom Marked Minnesota Stoneware Red Wing 1 Gallon Common Jug w/ Brown Glaze
For your consideration is a one gallon. Common style jug, made by Minnesota Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company existed from 1883 to 1906; in 1906 it merged with Red Wing Stoneware Company to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The embossed writing on the bottom is 1/2 of an inch tall and says: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO RED WING; however due to sloppiness during manufacturing, some of this writing is indecipherable. The handle was attached by hand and was attached at an angle; this and other manufacturing defects make this jug unique. This jug was touching another piece of stoneware during firing and when the two pieces were separated, the other piece got off with some of this jug's glaze from the handle and side. Antique C Hermann Whiskey Jug Salt Glazed Rust and Brown Tones 1 gallon
This is a wonderful old crockery sipping jug. Although I do not know how anyone could possibly sip from a jug as heavy as this. This weighs almost 10 pounds, you can tell it is a very old jug the minute you lift it. On the jug is the emblem for C. Hermann& Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We looked this company up and they stopped making this kind of jug in 1875 so it cannot be newer than that. It is in remarkable condition with no chips or cracks. This jug is almost 9 inches high and about 6 inches in diameter. The jug has a salt glaze. The red brown color occupies the first 2/3 of the jug and then moves to dark brown to tan. The bottom is unglazed. As I said this is a very heavy item. Careful packaging requires a larger box that will hold substantial packaging material. KENTUCKY FARM FIND 1/2 GALLON SIZE BOURBON WHISKEY MOONSHINE HAND TURNED GREAT FORM AND FINISH. ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE STONEWARE JUG offered as acquired from estate. I discovered this piece a few years back in a barn in Henry County. Kentucky, and am offering it just as found- magnificent old piece with great form. Has subtly defined ribs from turning. Applied handle, and I really like the shape on this one; shoulders do not flare in a pronounced way, so you ... moreget more of a minie ball shape than a beehive. If it was good enough for a moonshiner, it's good enough for me! Jug holds 8 cups(1/2 gallon) of fluid comfortably to shoulders. Or 9 if the guy filling it up really likes you. Stands almost 10 inches tall and is about 5 1/4 inches diameter at base. Condition is difficult to describe with these pieces, as you expect some normal imperfections in the original glaze, and there may be a few original slips in the paint or pinpoint wear, but there are no notable chips, cracks, dings or repairs of any kind. One area around side/base join looks a bit jinxy, but this is obviously the original craftsmanship and not damage. There is one bit of a nick in the handle, but it is under the original paint and glaze. So it's original. This is the type I usually find. Not always so solid not always handled this one is both. Classic brown over tan with two fingered handle. Without writing or embellishments of any kind. Just the good old shine crock/jug. Probably around eighty to one hundred years old. Sturdy and versatile. Dug one up 6 months ago has linseed oil maybe in it. Couldn't bring it home because the stench of the oil. Still sits out in the woods where my pit is. And still sometimes when I walk by it the fumes are overwhelming. Some say clean it others say clean and it loses its authenticity. I already have most of it off. You should have seen it when I popped it up out of the ground. This is a nice. Bottom marked Red Wing(Minnesota Stoneware Co. wide mouth whisky jug in excellent condition. There are no cracks or chips, just a few light scratches and scuffs on the glaze that are almost invisible. It holds a little over a gallon and measures 8" H x about 8" W with a 2 3/4" mouth. Very nice. Old, stoneware whiskey jug, in a crock style. I believe it is a 1 gallon size. The top is dark brown and the bottom is a lighter beige. I can find no makers mark anywhere. It has a handle. There are no cracks. It does have two small chips as seen in photos. There are wonderful variations in color around the body that highlights the age and handmade look of this great piece. It weighs 5 1/2 pounds. Measures approx: 12" tall, 7" in diameter across the bottom, 22 1/2" around, 1/14" opening spout. It has a"shiny" surface. I think it was meant for liquor but not certain. Great looking old tyme stoneware whiskey style 1 gallon jug with a single handle. It measures approx. 11" tall and 7" across the bottom. There are many flaws in the finish that have been there since the jug was produced. Even the chip on the bottom rim has a glaze on it so probably original. Study pictures for condition.
