Antique Pottery Stoneware Crock Jug Herb Beer with Nice Handle
Description: T his is an old Beer Crock with a handle found in an old barn here in New Hampshire. There are no markings to identify it but the pronounced lip means that it held contents under pressure and the cork could be tied down to resist the pressure. The bottle is about 8 ½” tall and 4” wide. There are a few nibbles here and there but it remains in pretty good shape with nice color as you can tell from my pictures. Up for bid is a STONEWARE BATTER JUG with BRISTOL GLAZE- Nice Piece! Batter Jug is in very nice condition for age. No cracks that I can find. One chip on rim. Pic 9) Inside of jug appears to have some crazing or small spider crack lines(pic) however. Inside of jug feels smooth to the touch and no cracks are evident to the bottom of jug. Nice decoration to the ears of jug. Bail handle is in nice condition. Jug stands about 9 3/4" tall and bottom diameter is approximately 6 1/2" Jug may have been made in two pieces. Bottom half was turned and the top half may have been molded, then placed together and glazed.

This is a great piece of cream toned crockery. I'm downsizing my crocks and jugs which I have had since the 70's and boy this jug was well cared for long before me. It stands 11 inches tall with a base of 7 iches in diameter. It has a very nice sheen. There are some manufacturing blurbs. No cracks and only one man-made tiny chip on the bottom rim. 3 DAY AUCTION! This is for a lovely antique stoneware jug with diminuative proportions and a quaint decoration of cobalt and white lines applied to the wall of the jug. The size is attractive. Standing 9 inches tall with a 6 1/2 inch diameter. The jug is in very good condition. It does have a small, flat chip on the bottom rim which is barely visible, and there is some glaze imperfection on the bottom rim which I think is from manufacture. There are a few straw lines, but there are no other chips and no cracks. The unglazed shoulder is soiled, but that's pretty minor. Here we have a very nice stoneware whiskey jug. The color is amazing! Earthy green with a slight blue cast and a rusty brown showing through in some areas. Very clean inside and out thanks to the paper wrapped corn cob stopper that I believe is original to this jug. Fits perfect! Nice sized for tipping. Approx. 7 1/2" tall-6" at the top and 5 1/2 at the bottom. Slightly ovoid shaped. There are a few very small imperfections in the glaze where tiny bits of debris was glazed over and then came off later. Check close up of handle and see where the glaze ran around one of these. Vintage / Antique Cobalt Bird Rooster Jug Stoneware Pottery - Nice Lamp Base
Hand painted stoneware jug with cobalt blue rooster/ chicken/ bird. The jugs dimensions are roughly 12" tall. 2" lip, 6.5" diameter at base, and 24" in diameter at it's widest point. There are no visible makers marks that I can see, other than the artists initials of"DT" on the lower right hand corner. There is one small ding on the lip about the size of a pencil eraser(see pics) There are 2 thin glaze pops near the bottom- not hairlines- it doesn't show on the inside- this is in the glaze. One is about 1.5" and the other about 2" There is crazing(due to age) but glaze fully intact. Nice clean jug- no major issues, color is vibrant, glaze is shiny. Thanks for looking!

There is a chip on the inside of the mouth opening, which does not go completely through to the outside of the mouth opening, as shown in the last two pictures. Original 19th Century Upstate NY Small 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jug Nice
From an estate dispersal and at ebay for your consideration is this nice small 1/2 gallon stoneware jug with the cork still in it which we did not try to remove. The jug appears to be empty and is in excellent condition. No chips cracks or repairs. The dark spot(character mark) is where a stone popped in the firing. This jug measures 9 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter at the base. Very nice sized jug for a primitive display and it looks much better in person than in the photos. It looks to be all hand thrown and has a great primtive look that would look awesome in someone's home. The jug measures 11 inches and 3 inches diameter. It has a really nice brown salt glaze on it. It is also marked on the front and the back which is usually not seen on these old bottles. It does have a seperation starting in the handle that was done during firing and has lasted all these years. It is still solid. This is must for a collector or collection believe me you will love it. Very nice classically sprigged and engine turned early 1800s stoneware jug
We are listing this classically sprigged and engine turned blue and white felspathic stoneware jug from the early 1800s. Although the jug is unmarked it is very well sprigged and decorated. So the maker was one of the better potters of that time period. The jug is 4.5 inches tall, over 5 inches at its widest point, and in very good condition. There are a couple of flakes under the front of the spout and two or three small flaws under the glaze(see the close up pictures) but this is a very nice 200 year old jug. Very nice 1815-1825 unmarked Ridgway putti sprigged stoneware jug
We are listing this superb little Ridgway putti sprigged stoneware jug from the 1815 to 1825 period. Although the jug is unmarked it has the exact same shape and sprigging as a marked Ridgway jug pictured and described on page 97 of the book An Illustrated Guide to British Jugs. The putti sprigging was used by other makers. But the shape of the jug was slightly different on other makers' jugs. The jug is almost 5 inches tall, 4.5 inches at its widest point, and in excellent condition(only some brown color coming through on the white sprigging) This is a great little 200 year old jug. Very nice Georgian (Scottish?) unusually sprigged highly glazed stoneware jug
We are listing this very interesting highly glazed stoneware jug which may have a Scottish origin(it is unmarked) The front sprig appears to be a Highlands warrior. And the two side sprigs appear to be Scottish shepherds with their flocks. In addition to the sprigging, the jug has a band of beading below the rim, and ring turning above the base. It is 5.5 inches tall, 7.5 inches at its widest point, and is generally in very good condition. There is a small piece of the bottom of the handle missing, very small typical separation cracks on the bottoms of the sprigs, little spots of wear or discoloration at the end of the spout and the high points of the handle, and a couple of minor glaze flaws- none of which detract from the visual effect of this striking jug(see the close up pictures) I have never seen another one like it. Nice 1815-1835 Georgian relief molded stoneware jug with Angels and Banner mark
We are listing this nice 1815-1835 English relief molded jug which is marked on the bottom with the raised Angels with Banner pad(also called the Angels pad) impressed with the number 102(some experts have speculated that this mark may have been used by the H& R Daniel partnership) On page 106 of the book An Illustrated Guide to British Jugs there is a picture and discussion of this mark. Which is rarely seen. The jug is decorated with floral designs, is 5 inches tall, and over 7 inches at its widest point. The piece displays very well and is generally good condition, but there is a hairline down one side of the rim, some separation cracking around the bottom of the handle(which is quite stable) and some rubbing of the glaze on one side of the handle(see the close up pictures) Still this is a rare jug which displays very well. Antique Redwear Stoneware Whiskey Jug With Pour Spout Nice Check It Out
You are looking at an old whiskey jug with a pour spout on it it is in excellent condition for it age there are no cracks or hairline cracks on it. I have only wiped it with a damp cloth the remove the dust I would say there is 2 small chips on the spout about ball point pen size as I tried to show in the pictures. Any questions please feel free to ask. It is brown in color but it's not even some spots look lighter like the finish was thinner in those spots.
