The jug is rather ... morenarrow and it’s a very early model. But there are no markings minus what looks like a letter G stamped in the back. The grey toned salt glaze has an orange peel texture, the handle is hand applied. There are imperfections in the glaze, due to the primitive process, used as shown in the pictures, but no cracking. Antique Rare Two Handled Salt Glazed Water Jug Circa 1800's
Very Rare 1800's Two Handled Salt Glazed Water Jug It stands 9" tall and 6.5" wide. From handle to handle. Around the middle(belly) it measures 18" The clay looks like the clay that was used on the eastern coast in the 1800's. The clay on the east coast is much lighter clay then other parts of the US. The jug is hand thrown piece. They would have put this on a pottery wheel then turned it to produce this look, and instead of cutting the part off that help support it on the wheel, they left it there, finished it off used it as a foot. I am not quite sure the purpose of that, it seems to me a smoother bottom would have been easier, unless they had fashioned a carrier that the bottle sat down in that size. Some of the heavy glaze is worn off. Mostly on the one side. A very unusal& striking piece of pottery. It Displays ... morebeautiful. Thank you for looking. Please

ANTIQUE 19TH C SALT GLAZED STONEWARE JUG OTTMAN BRO'S & CO FT EDWARD NY BLUE DEC
HUG A JUG TODAY! HERE'S a fine authentic genuine 19th c salt glazed Stoneware Jug to CHEER about. Near as fine collector condition as one likes to find them straight last week fresh plucked out of a one-man thirty year private collection culled locally in his lifetime, for you to reharvest and give new life to once again this brand new Spring 2013 debut listing from Colony Farm Antiques, the hard goods division of Lady Ellens' Fine Ware here on EBay, where we serve reenactors and select collector interests with supreme offerings. The Jug is stamped with OTTMAN BRO'S& CO over FORT EDWARD. NY over a compact tight cluster hand slipped blue scroll coil spray dotted leafy floral cluster typical of slip cup decoration(slip is liquid clay) The decorations sits well mid front to the jug and shows nicely in overall balanced scheme ... moreto the viewer, this one had some thought exercised during manufacture as so many other finds are simply routine, unimaginative, and in some cases, downright hurried and sloppy! The platform neck is well formed and strong, and loop strap rear single handle is tight, easy grip, highly looped, and attached firmly no issues. This is a clean nice stoneware example for anyone's proud display collection. Unmarked to capacity, I would say it is best equivalent to just about 1 1/2 gallon size. Condition Report: One very tiny stone ping above coil spray. Triangular shaped stone ping on right side upper shoulder from which emanates a line of vertical glaze drip. Overall pleasing light grey coloration with a small Texas-state shaped beige blotch to left side midway. This is smooth. Just a kiln color aberration in the manufacture. No kiss marks. Clean sound bottom with tiny felt pad dots to prevent scratching. No fry to cobalt, No hairlines. No repairs. Just HONEST old piece that has sat last 30+ years in a collection in the area in which is was made. Offered here new debut at antique show field trader price-where the buyers descend upon my booth like locusts hungry to purchase Fine Wares

Antique Brown Salt Glazed Stoneware Whiskey Jug
This is listing is for an Antique Brown Salt Glazed Hand Thrown? Pottery Whiskey Jug. I do not know when this jug was made or where it came from. The sticker on the front of it says" Made in Tennessee By Moonshiners" Again I have no idea if that is original to the jug or not. Jug appears to be in good shape with only one major flaw being on the side opposite of the handle what appears to be where a light gouge or something that once on there has been broken off. The jug is approx 8" high and has a corn cob stopper. The photos in this listing is the actual jug you are bidding on. This item will ship with Insurance! Items are from a smoke free home and have been described to the best of my knowledge of them. All items are sold As-Is so be sure to ask any and all questions before bidding. I will only ship within the U.S. and price ... morequoted for shipping is shipping and handling unless otherwise specified. Item will be shipped with the utmost care. It does have a tight crack on the bottom and partly up the side. It doesn't show from the front so it's still a very decorative piece.

Glazed, stoneware shoulder jug with applied handle is approximately 10 1/2" tall and 7" in diameter. It has a bee-hive shape and a dark rich brown color glazing. Antique C Hermann Whiskey Jug Salt Glazed Rust and Brown Tones 1 gallon
This is a wonderful old crockery sipping jug. Although I do not know how anyone could possibly sip from a jug as heavy as this. This weighs almost 10 pounds, you can tell it is a very old jug the minute you lift it. On the jug is the emblem for C. Hermann& Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We looked this company up and they stopped making this kind of jug in 1875 so it cannot be newer than that. It is in remarkable condition with no chips or cracks. This jug is almost 9 inches high and about 6 inches in diameter. The jug has a salt glaze. The red brown color occupies the first 2/3 of the jug and then moves to dark brown to tan. The bottom is unglazed. As I said this is a very heavy item. Careful packaging requires a larger box that will hold substantial packaging material. Our items are wrapped for safety and will arrive in exactly the condition ... moredescribed and pictured. Our shipping charges may be somewhat higher to allow for safe delivery. Excess amounts paid for shipping will be refunded.

12” Vintage/Antique RCPSO AKRON OH Whiskey-Moonshine Jug Salt Glazed W-Cork
This is your chance to own an item of yesteryear. Probably had more use as a Moonshine Jug– but let’s say it’s a Whiskey Jug. Wish it could talk so we would really know what experiences it had. Let me make up one. Mountain Moonshiners would give one of these jugs for their best customers. Of course they couldn’t give out too many as it might make the Revenuers suspicious and no one wanted that” Or“Whenever word spread that the Revenuers were near– they would bury their Moonshine Jugs. Being made of porcelain and Salt Glazed Stoneware to help insulate their moonshine underground” Maybe it’s true and imagine the fun you can have spinning“yarns” about this Jug. It would make a great decorative item. Addition to your collection, or an interesting gift. You could even"Fill it Up" and drink a beverage of your choice out of it! It is in ... moreGood Age-Appropriate Condition. Please see photos for signs of it’s history as it has chips and dings. PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE~1-GAL. SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE MOONSHINE JUG w/Applied Handle
This heavy. 1-gallon antique salt-glazed stoneware crock jug is a beauty! I'm not sure what was in it originally, but I'd guess hard liquor or moonshine. It has a lovely light cream to putty-colored salt glaze finish, with a hand-applied handle, and possible two-piece body construction. The surface has a wonderful patina, and the inside has the same creamy glaze. There are some scrapes on the mouth and top of the handle that are old enough to beautifully blend into the color of the salt glaze, a few stray dark marks, a few extra bits of clay stuck here and there, and no other damage that I can find. A very unique piece from a bygone era! Unsure of maker. From the late 1800s-early 1900s. I see no damage other than what I've already described. Could use a good cleaning. See photos. 8" tall x 7 1/4" in diameter. PLEASE ... moreALSO VISIT MY SISTER STORE. CROSS CREEK MARKET! I am always happy to combine shipping to save buyers money. Antique 2 Gallon Salt Glazed Jug Cobalt Sunburst Clock Pigeon Droppings PA or NY
Antique 2 Gallon Salt Glazed Jug Cobalt Sunburst Clock Pigeon Droppings PA or NY Up for auction is an antique 2 Gallon Salt Glazed Jug… dating somewhere around or before 1880. It has the cobalt blue design with the 3 surrounded by a sunburst or clock design(12 branches) There are droppings as well. We believe this crock is from PA or NY as it came through a family that migrated from north central PA. It measures 8 ¾” in diameter. It stands 12” tall. It is in pretty good shape though there is a crack that runs from the front around to the back side. It was caused from bad storage in a garage. The last time tested. It held water. I did not test it now as I did not want moisture in it for shipment due to the cold temperatures throughout the nation. There is a small glaze nick on the outer side of the lip as shown. Antique 1860s Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug OL & AK Ballard Burlington VT 2 Gallon
Global Garage Sale eBay Drop-Off Stores 94 West Canal St. 4 Winooski. VT 05404 802-655-4443 1. You drop it off 2. We sell it on eBay 3. You get a check! This item is being listed by a Global Garage Sale eBay Drop-Off Store. Global Garage Sale stores are operated by professional eBay sellers with thousands of happy customers worldwide. So bid with confidence and please contact us with any questions. Antique 1860s Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug OL& AK Ballard Burlington VT 2 Gallon This listing is for a wonderful antique O.L. A.K. Ballard Stoneware Jug. This is a 2-gallon salt glazed jug that measures about 14" inches tall and 8 1/4" inches across the base. Based on our research. These two Ballard brothers were making stoneware in Burlington, Vermont between 1859 and 1867. The jug is in good overall condition with a few small chips ... morearound the rim and the bottom edge. There is also a 1/4" inch hole drilled in the back near the bottom, and another 1/2" inch drilled hole on the very bottom. We are not sure why this was done. Please see the photos below and contact us with any questions. We have a low opening bid price, so don't miss your chance to win! The three Ballard brothers. Orrin L, Alfred K, and Hiram N. worked briefly in Burlington before taking over the old Thompson& Co. pottery in Gardiner, Maine in 1854. In Burlington they used the incised mark BALLARD& BROTHERS/BURLINGTON, VT. They operated the Gardiner facility for about a year and produced wares with the incised mark BALLARD& BROTHERS/GARDINER ME. Following this experience the two brothers moved to Portland, Maine, where in 1855 they established a pottery at 100 Green Street. The 1856 Portland directory lists them at that address and describes the as“Manufacturers and Wholesaler Dealers of Stone Ware of every description, which they offer to the trade on the most reasonable terms. Orrin and Alfred moved back to Burlington and made pottery together from 1859 to 1867. Their mark was O.L. A.K. BALLARD/BURLINGTON, VT. Biddi

Antique Salt Glazed Jug "Kelley&Classay halifay, NS" 1gal.
This little jug has a great look! It is 8" tall and 61/2" wide. It's grey in color with cobalt stamped makers mark. The stamp is faint in areas so I am unsure of the exact letters. Looks like KELLEY& CLASSAY. The next line is clear, it says HALIFAY, NS. I'm sure that was some sort of typo and was meant to say Halfax! Has a couple chips, one large one on the spout about 1" wide as well as 3 smaller ones. Only one chip on base 1" wide. Chips are all old damage, and don't detract from its beauty at all! Oh! And it has a cork that has not been removed in at least 20 yrs, probably more!

EARLY ANTIQUE CIRCA 17TH/18TH CENTURY SALT GLAZED STONEWARE ONE-HANDLED JUG
This early antique salt-glazed stoneware one-handled jug is circa 17th/18th century. Salt glaze pottery is stoneware with a glaze of glossy. Translucent, and slightly orange-peel texture, which was formed by throwing common salt into the kiln during the higher temperature part of the firing process. This primitive jug has a beautiful early pear-shaped form. And a nice mottled natural/yellowish color. The jug measures ~8 3/8" tall x 2" diameter at the base. Considering its age. The jug is in good condition overall. There are a couple of small chips at the neck, and a hairline crack, but no major repairs or restoration that I can see. The blemish in the front of the jug was possibly formed during the firing process, from maybe touching another jug. The form. Color, and surface are great. This jug shows good honest wear from years ... moreof use, and has nice character. Thanks for looking, and any shipping cost overcharge will be promptly refunded.

ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE CIRCA 18TH/19TH CENTURY SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE ONE-HANDLED JUG
This antique primitive salt-glazed stoneware one-handled jug is circa 18th/19th century. The form is pleasing. With nice line detailing around the neck, and it has a molded handle. The color is a wonderful tan with a mottled glaze. The jug measures ~6 1/4" tall x 4" wide across the widest part. It has a 2 1/4" base and a 1 3/8" mouth. Overall. The jug is in good condition. There is a couple of small chips around the perimeter of the base, but nothing major. The blemish shown in the first picture was possibly formed during the firing process, from being too close to another jug. I do believe this jug is all original, but since I am not an expert in this field, I ask that you please zoom in on all of the pictures for detailed close-ups. Besides great color and form. This jug has a nice surface, showing good honest wear from ... moremany years of use. Thank you for looking, and any shipping cost overage will be promptly refunded.
