Looks to be about a 1/2 gallon container. Possibly a water, molasses or syrup pitcher. This jug is in very good condition with no cracks and just some very minor chipping around the spout. Details can be seen in the photos. It measures approximately 8 1/2" tall. 22" wide around the middle and 6 1/2" wide across the bottom. There are no identifying markings on this piece, but there are a few things we can tell you about it. We purchased this and a few other earthenware pieces(see our other auctions! from an estate auction here in beautiful Western Massachusetts. Antique 5 Gallon Brown Glazed Top Tennessee Stoneware Pottery Whisky Beehive Jug
This is a fantastic antique two-toned brown and natural glazed stoneware whisky jug from Tennessee that is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. It is beautiful all over with the rich. Even, shiny, brown glaze on the top and the even natural toned glaze on the bottom that is covered with natural crazing from age(shown in the last photo) giving it a charming vintage look. There is some light scuffing and scratching on the surface, but no other obvious damage. I haven't tried to fill it, but it is the same size as other 5 gallon jugs I have and it is definitely larger than a 3 gallon, so I believe it holds 5 gallons. It measures 11" W x 18" H and will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Bristol Brown Glazed & Gray Stoneware Pottery Jug
This jug has a bristol brown glaze. I think there may be a small stamp/imprint on the base. This is a very heavy jug. But. I can't make it out. I'll gladly answer questions. Thank you for looking.
