For your consideration is a one gallon. Common style jug, made by Minnesota Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company existed from 1883 to 1906; ... morein 1906 it merged with Red Wing Stoneware Company to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The embossed writing on the bottom is 1/2 of an inch tall and says: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO RED WING; however due to sloppiness during manufacturing, some of this writing is indecipherable. The handle was attached by hand and was attached at an angle; this and other manufacturing defects make this jug unique. This jug was touching another piece of stoneware during firing and when the two pieces were separated, the other piece got off with some of this jug's glaze from the handle and side. This jug is 8 3/4" tall and the bottom is 7 3/4" in diameter. This jug has 0 cracks and 0 chips, however it does have some glaze skips and the previously mentioned manufacturing defects. Check out my other listings as I combine shipping when practical. This saves the buyer money. The buyer is assured this MINNESOTA STONEWARE jug will be well packaged and shipped promptly. I will try to answer any questions. I'm very easy to get along with, if commnication is adequate; I check my email several times a day. This MINNESOTA STONEWARE jug will be shipped by USPS Parcel Select. Shipping for this MINNESOTA STONEWARE jug is $13.50. I prefer PayPal, but if the buyer chooses to pickup this MINNESOTA STONEWARE jug and wants to pay at pickup, that is OK. Payment is expected within 7 days of commitment to buy.

Little Speckled Brown Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug w/ Cobalt Blue Flower - Heavy!
Little Speckled Brown Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug w/ Cobalt Blue Flowers on both sides What a Wonderful addition to your collection! This is an Pennsylvania Estate Find. A Cobalt Decorated Stoneware Jug or Bottle. Now let me say, I am not a collector of Stoneware. I did however try to research this jug. I must have looked at Thousands of pieces of Stoneware, putting in every keyword I could think of for this type of slip or glaze, and could find nothing like it. I will welcome any idea's from a collector! I do not know it's exact age. It may be vintage, Antique, but it is not marked, like most modern pieces. It is quite beautiful. With it's speckled or mottled Brown with a slight Red Rust shading glaze or slip. I don't think it's Spongeware. And with the lighter clay base is seen dotted in background, those surface dots ... moreare indented. Giving it a slightly rough surface. The brown glaze is glossy. But the Cobalt Blue floral decoration, shading slightly to a lighter Sky Blue on edges, is very high gloss. Heavy. Weighs ~2.5 pounds! Jug measures about 5-1/4" H. 6" diameter including handle May be a really rare piece! Don't miss adding it to your collection!

All Customs forms will state the actual selling price of items shipped internationally. Intrigued by a quote I found in an old book written in 1904 by A. H. Church. I had no choice but to spend the next two days researching what he said. After all, Mr. Church was“the man” at the Victoria& Albert Museum when it came to European ceramics. With an image of a jug nearly identical to the one presented here. He wrote: The only Salopean earthenware that claims notice here is the believed to have been made at Jackfield. about 1760-1775. I’ll continue the quote in a jiffy. But I can assure you that the jug at Victoria& Albert is not only of the same form and age, it appears to have been decorated by the same hand. ... moreHowever. First we’d better take a good look at the old rascal I’m selling. It is black glazed redware. Hand painted and standing 9 ½” tall. As with the V&A example. As well as a second specimen owned by The Jackfield Pottery National Trust. Inventory Number 509515) the one selling here also carries an“inscription contained in scroll cartouche below sparrow’s beak spout. The only difference is the name. According to information passed to me many years ago by the family. C. Guest” was British“nobility. I am simply unqualified to identify the person. I’ll leave that to the Peerage professionals. Let’s call them Nobiliphiles. CONDITION REPORT: In my opinion. This baluster form Jackfield Pottery jug is likely the finest example not imprisoned in a museum or secret collection. As one would expect, there are some minor losses of enamel. After all, it is“over the glaze. There is one tiny bite. And I DO mean tiny, under the rim of the spout, midway between the“poring point” and the body. I have enhanced a couple photos seen below. Had I not, you couldn’t have seen it. More images and commentary continue below my three"Prime Directives: 1st: I never. Under any circums

stoneware / redware bulbous pottery jug signed blue/black glaze Antique American
Hello- This charming bulbous jug is 5 1/2" tall and the same in diameter. It is some kind of stoneware- which looks reddish on the surface. But is also greyish underneath. The glaze is a very shiney black which turns blue where thicker. It is full of metallic bursts in the glaze. The is pure white with a slight uniform crackle which suggests some real age. It could be earlier than 1900- I don't know. It is inscribed underneath- it looks like McCall. Please email with questions.

Antique / Vintage Guernesey Jug/Creamer
This silver tone antique jug is pretty primitive. Some versions of the Guernesey coins similar to the one affixed to the jug date back to the 1800s. It measures about 5 1/2" top of lid to bottom. The lid is slightly misshapen but just imagine where this jug has been! I've included a picture of the inside which has some residue of whatever the jug held last. But for fear of damaging the integrity if this piece, it will come as is. Please ask if you have any question and thank you for looking! Posted with eBay Mobile

Rare ENGLISH LEEDS TYPE POLYCHROME CREAMWARE JUG, c. 1780-1800
Rare ENGLISH LEEDS TYPE POLYCHROME CREAMWARE JUG. C. 1780-1800 Fine Design- Some Old Restoration This is a rare antique English Leeds type polychrome decorated creamware jug. Circa 1780 to 1800, or so. Jug is 7 5/8" high with a 5 1/8" diameter base, and it has finely painted decoration in green, blue, yellow, pumpkin orange, and brown, as pictured. It is clean and intact, but it does show some old restoration with most of the white painted overspray having turned slightly yellow. Almost all of the overspray restoration paint appears to be on the bottom and inside of the jug with only a few small spots of repair on one side of the body and a couple small spout chips. I see no cracks in the pottery at all, and the handle is unrestored. In general, it looks to be in pretty good condition, and a redo of the restoration could improve ... moreit to near perfect looking. This is fresh from a western Pennsylvania estate. Shipping is $20.00 Priority mail within the US with combined shipping offered on multiple purchases, and any insurance coverage is at the buyer's option and expense(required on most breakable items) There is a 14 day money back inspection period, and email for more information and payment details. Antique ceramic water jug / botijo / gargoulette
This is an antique water jug/ botijo/ gargoulette. A traditional water container that can be found all over Spain and in parts of southern France. It is designed to maintain a cool water temperature, even when placed in the sun. This item is depicts a country house on one side and a dog on the other, with trees in between. The colors are browns, yellow, greens and white with black for lines and a touch of blue. This item shows signs of being an antique, and I estimate it is from the first half of the 20th century. The bottom is stamped handmade in Spain, so we know it is likely post 1891. Approx 9.5" tall and 8.25" at the widest.

Large Vintage Glazed Ceramic Jug Unearthed w/Original Cork- Very Good Condition
Large Vintage Glazed Ceramic Jug Unearthed w/Original Cork- Very Good Condition This wonderful old jug was recently unearthed from an old barn. It was several feet under the soil and no one knows how long it was buried. It was a miracle it was ever found. The glaze is a very dark brown or black and cleaned up beautifully! Amazingly there are no chips or cracks on the jug. There is one very small spot near the top where the glaze is chipped. It shows in the photos. It is about 12" tall with a girth of about 30" so it is a good size jug. It was probably used for whiskey back in the day. There are no markings on the bottom so I have no idea how old this old jug is. It weights in at about 11 pounds without packing so there is heft to it and postage will reflect it. This is a sensational find that will make a delightful addition to any ... moredecor. Questions? Please ask prior to bidding.
RARE YORKSHIRE PRATT-TYPE TOBY JUG c. 1800-1820
Prancing Horse Antiques Satisfaction or I'll Make It Right! RARE YORKSHIRE PRATT-TYPE TOBY JUG c. 1800-1820 Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album This TOBY JUG was made in Yorkshire. England and is one of the most desirable examples due to it great color and the"baby" toby being held by the large toby. I purchased this from Sotheby's over 25 years ago when in the company of Dr. Wynn Sayman of Richmond, MA, one of the country's top ceramics experts, from whom I purchased some Whieldon over the years. Anyway, this Toby Jug is an outstanding example of the genre, having brilliant"Pratt" colors and great modeling. Of course, I love the"baby" Toby. The jug is in generally great condition, with the only issues several hairlines as shown in the photos- there is a line ... morefrom the elbow on the left side down to the base, another line joins it halfway, there is a line around the outside of the base, and a shallow chip on the bottom- all as shown, The finger on the right hand has a rub. But given the age, this example is in excellent condition. It is about 10" high. There is what appears to be a crown mark on the bottom. I have seen similar examples of this type sold for well over $2,000, with one of the same size sold by Christies realizing $3327 on 11/21/2002. Antique Stoneware: 19thC. English Puzzle Jug, Salt Glaze w/ Hunt Scene, ca.1840
An early salt-glazed English Puzzle Jug. Attributed to the Brampton(Chesterfield) pottery, ca.1840. A superb example featuring a continuous figural Hunt Scene sprig including hounds and horses. Both neck and rim are symmetrically pieced with geometric shapes, with an additional scalloped edge profile on the upper lip(see close-up) One of the spouts has loss as shown; otherwise in excellent overall condition with no hairlines, cracks, repaired damage or restoration work. Beautiful detail and workmanship; fine honey-brown glaze. This piece deserves a prominent location in any Antique Stoneware collection. Please see photo set for complete details and further description. Similar examples typically sell in the $400-800 range, depending on condition and complexity; more information on these fascinating jugs can be readily found on the internet. ... moreMeasures approximately 7"W overall, including handle; 8-1/4"H to top of handle, and 7-1/2"H to top of rim. The base diameter measures 3-3/4" Offered with absolutely No Reserve. Ships fully insured to the highest bidder. Domestic bidders only, please; I do not ship Internationally at this time. Good luck, and be sure to check my other Auctions ending shortly. Thanks. Some brief information on Puzzle Jugs follows: The defining feature of a puzzle jug is its pierced neck. Which makes it impossible to pour or drink the contents. In fact, the jug is made with a hollow handle and a hollow ring around the neck, typically fitted with two or three spouts. The idea is that the contents can be sucked up through the handle and drunk from one of the spouts by covering the others with your fingers. However, this might be a little too obvious, so the potters typically included at least one additional small hole, usually up underneath the handle, which also had to be covered before drinking. BESWICK ENGLAND CREAM GLAZED EARTHENWARE PITCHER/JUG/VASE
A great little Beswick earthenware piece with an industrial feel(shaped somewhat like a metal oil pitcher) which is in contrast to it's glaze- a soft cream with the appearance and feel of satin. It was made in England in the early 1950's I believe. Judging from the base which is impressed with"BESWICK ENGLAND" and Pattern No. 1553-1" and stamped as well with"Beswick England" There is a tiny black blemish at the base of the handle(something embedded in the glaze) and there is a section of crazing in the glaze to the left of the handle; otherwise however i t is in excellent condition having no stains. Cracks, chips or scratches. It stands 17cm tall from its base to top of spout and is 12cm in diameter at the bottom of the bowl. I like this pitcher for its simplicity and sculptural shape which displays beautifully. ... moreAnd also for its functionality- with its wide spout it pours perfectly for sauces and the like. And it converts to a vase when the need arises too, looking especially lovely holding a posy of white flowers.
