This one is in nice condition with no cracks and lots of primitive, ... morecrude and sloppy manufacturing marks and details to show. The folks making these were clearly interesting in production versus artistic quality at the time. This is perhaps a beer or liquor bottle of the period, perhaps ink or something else as well. It has no makers mark and is probably from the mid to lat 1800's. The bottle is relatively thick walled or hefty and stands about 5.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter at the bottom. Nicely primitive in appearance with a brown glaze or salt glaze with occasional red specks, etc. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this old primitive pottery or stoneware bottle low so enjoy the auction. We'll pack this carefully. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CROCKERY JUG STONEWARE POTTERY TINY BROWN SPECKS ~NICE
This is a great piece of cream toned crockery. I'm downsizing my crocks and jugs which I have had since the 70's and boy this jug was well cared for long before me. It stands 11 inches tall with a base of 7 iches in diameter. It has a very nice sheen. There are some manufacturing blurbs. No cracks and only one man-made tiny chip on the bottom rim. This is a Great Looking Old Jug but I Can't Say That It Actually"Holds" a Gallon of Water(or Hootch) It is very nice to look at. But it does have a crack which causes it(and me) to weep. The crack is shown in a photo. I bought it at an auction in North Carolina. I do not know its age. It will fit in well with your rustic/folk art decor. It stands 11" and has a 7" diameter. This is a one of a kind vintage"Ye Little Old Brown Jug" from Peerless Cement Company in Detroit. It has scores from 1942. 1945, 1946 and 1947. Great WWII era Deyroit advertising piece and due to war no games in 1943-44. Dimensiins are about 13 inhes tall and 9 inches in diameter. No cracks, chips or damage. VINTAGE CROCKERY Petite handmade Jugs Marked
someone collected petite Handmade pottery One is like a whiskey crock. You can see and feel the rope clay turned to make this stoneware type jug. I think this is a salt glaze in a black/brown, olive color. There is a mark impressed in a circle that to me looks like a swan or duck, too small to tell but could be a C and a small o. Please tell me if you recognize the mark. No damage to either jug. Age unknown. Makers unknown. The other is a beautiful glazed terracotta field with what looks like a feathered branch the flows across it. It too has signs of turnings and a dark greenish black interior glaze. Green felt dot glued to bottom center. Don't know why. This one would make a beautiful ink pot and has a native american feel in the decoration. As found.
