Primitive Antique Stoneware Jug Blue Cobalt Signed Script J N Kuh & Company NJ
Primitive Antique Stoneware Jug Old estate find. This is a nice Primitive Antique Stoneware Jug with large script blue cobalt decoration. applied handle and early glaze. The cobalt writing says"J. N. Kuh& Co, Newark N. J. From what I can find out, these jugs were made by the Fulper Pottery of Flemington, NJ, for the companies whose names are written on the jugs. The script writing is quite dramatic and has a great look. The jug is in very good condition with some chips on the outside of the top rim and one shallow chip on the side of the handle- no cracks. Solid and sturdy. Otherwise, just some minor glazing flaws. Great stylish script writing on the front in a dark cobalt blue. Design is very well done. Nice smaller stoneware jug in very good primitive antique condition. Displays nicely. Jug measures about 11.5" tall. And is ... moreabout 7" across at the bottom. Nice Primitive Stoneware Jug with Original Cobalt Script Writing. NJ Collectible. Great Shape, Great display piece. Thanks for looking. Please email with any questions. Low opening bid. The items that I sell are primitives/antiques/vintage items that I find and would buy for myself. I try to describe each item as well as I can but I am not an expert. I sell on ebay for fun and enjoy the people I meet here. I do not leave negative feedback and hope that if you are not happy with an item that we can work out any problems. Vintage Western Stoneware Company Gallon Jug 1902-1906
Vintage Western Stoneware Co identified by the Blue Maple Leaf without plant number indicating it was made between 1902 and 1906. This jug will hold 130 ozs of liquid(tested) It is 10 1/2" tall, 7" in diameter with a 1" opening at the top and weighs just over 5 lbs. It has a blemish just above the maple leaf and on the end of the maple leaf that we are referring to as a birthmark because it appears to have been made at the time of glazing, like it scraped another jug or the oven at some point. And the dark streaks are within the glaze and will not come off. On the bottom edge there is another blemish that is 3/4" long and also looks like it was part of the process. There is some minor crackling but you have to look real close to see it. For 100 years old this one is in very good shape.

ANTIQUE, NEW YORK STONEWARE COMPANY, STONEWARE JUG, COBALT FLUE FLOWER DESIGN
ANTIQUE. NEW YORK STONEWARE COMPANY, STONEWARE JUG, LARGE COBALT BLUE FLOWER DESIGN: If my research on this old stoneware jug is anywhere near accurate and correct, this vintage stoneware jug was manufactured by the NEW YORK STONEWARE COMPANY, Fort Edward, New York? Unfortunately, the computer's search engine keys on the common terminology"New York stoneware" There were many New York State stoneware potteries at one time in the state's historic past, so quite a few"New York stoneware" responses come to the surface! I would highly recommend YOU do your own personal research on this beautiful stoneware jug and its large cobalt blue flower design. My nine photos, taken from every possible angle, will give you an excellent idea as to the appearance and overall physical condition of this antique stoneware jug. This ... moreantique stoneware jug has only two very small imperfections, small chips on the top edge of the jug's neck/throat area, clearly illustrated in one of my photos. This stoneware jug weighs FIVE pounds and THIRTEEN ounces. The jug is 11 11/16 inches tall, 23 5/8 inches in circumference, and is 7 inches in diameter across its bottom/base. The opening in this jug's mouth is 7/8 inches wide. This large stoneware jug requires careful packaging and a large shipping carton, hopefully, to prevent someone from receiving six pounds of stoneware jug pieces they can then have the challenging task of putting together to make a jug! The postage/shipping costs I have documented for this antique stoneware jug, reflect shipping costs to the West Coast of the United States. Unless you are use to federal and state"entitlements" you KNOW there is no"FREE LUNCH" The reality of that simple truism in life, is reflected in U.S. Postal Service charges. If anyone has any questions on this jug that my photos do not illustrate for you, please feel free to drop me a line. Thank you. SEMPER FI! Antique Providence Pub Market Company Stoneware Jug 1 Gallon, Ca. 1912, marked.
Measuring 11.5 inches tall by 7 inches wide this striking. Excellent-condition, stoneware 1-gallon jug is marked"Providence Pub Market Co. Providence R.I. Which after some research. The only information we could find was an inspection report for the Company back in 1912. They passed safety and fire inspections with flying colors back then. Nice earth-tone color marked with blue ink. a portion of the label was not stamped when the jug was made. it's not chipped off, scraped off, or worn off. it was never there. There is a small ding/flake toward the bottom of the jug, as I have noted in the pic, however it does not detract from a great display and is quite common in antique stoneware. If you're into antique stoneware jugs that are MARKED. This puppy is for you. look n' see. Pics speak for themselves!

Hawthorn Pottery Company H.P. Co. PA Pennsylvania 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug
CLICK ON A PHOTO FOR A LARGER IMAGE: Photos Not Showing Up? Send me a message through the ebay contact system. I'll get it fixed. Hawthorn Pottery Company H.P.Co. PA Pennsylvania 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug. Tobacco Spit Glaze 3 Gallon H.P.Co. Jug. Stands about 13.75 inches tall. Condition is fine, with two small 1/4 to 1/2 shallow chips in the bottom, top and handle are mint. As for the tobacco spit. Turkey splatter, whatever you want to call those marks: I'm no expert on these old jugs. And I can find no other example of this phenomenon on Hawthorn Pottery output. I bought this jug in a country auction in PA, so I have no provenance for it beyond that. A little suspicious, I took my knife to the edge of one of the splatters, and although hard, I can get the blade to shave the surface of the lump. What this means, I don't know. Are ... morethe tobacco spit globs real, or maybe just some add-ons? Seems like a lot of deceptive work for an item that is already collectible and didn't sell for all that much in the live auction. Perhaps these old salt-glaze lumps are softer compared to the thinner glazes on the rest of the jug? I'll leave that up to you as the buyer. I sell it today with no warranty as to the authenticity of the brown splatters. But the rest of the jug is certainly authentic. 150224/ 1565 R3/1/2015 AUS_ Additional purchases will be combined if bought same day. For one low shipping rate. Sales Tax may apply. Please read and accept my terms of sale below before you bid. You can see all of my current listings by clicking BY PLACING A BID ON THIS ITEM. YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS: 1) POSTAGE: All USPS postage rates are calculated using the most affordable(not the quickest) shipping class.
