Little Speckled Brown Salt Glazed Stoneware Jug w/ Cobalt Blue Flowers on both sides What a Wonderful addition to your collection! This is an Pennsylvania Estate Find. A Cobalt Decorated Stoneware Jug or Bottle. Now let me say, I am not a collector of Stoneware. I did however try to research this jug. I must have looked at Thousands of pieces of Stoneware, putting in every keyword I could think of for this type of slip or glaze, and could find nothing like it. I will welcome any idea's from a collector! I do not know it's exact age. It may be vintage, Antique, but it is not marked, like most modern pieces. It is quite beautiful. With it's speckled or mottled Brown with a slight Red Rust shading glaze or slip. I don't think it's Spongeware. And with the lighter clay base is seen dotted in background, those surface dots ... moreare indented. Giving it a slightly rough surface. The brown glaze is glossy. But the Cobalt Blue floral decoration, shading slightly to a lighter Sky Blue on edges, is very high gloss. Heavy. Weighs ~2.5 pounds! Jug measures about 5-1/4" H. 6" diameter including handle May be a really rare piece! Don't miss adding it to your collection!

This crock is approximately 9" tall and 5-3/4" diameter. I would guess it to be about a half-gallon capacity. Shipping includes insurance and double-boxing for safe delivery. I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a nice LITTLE ANTIQUE 19THC OVOID STONEWARE JUG. It is 8" high. Looks to be approx. Mid-19thC vintage. But uncertain of precise age. Irregular shape with droopy top lip and indented on one side. Jug has two incised lines around the shoulder. I not believe the jug has any chips. There is a"patchy" area on the top of the handle, but upon close examination it looks to be probably a manufacture flaw, as it appears to have the original glaze over this area(see close-up for your own examination) A small dent spot on the front of the jug also looks to be a manufacture flaw. This cute little jug is 3 and1/2 inches in height and 4 inches at its widest paart. It has Emkay Candies Syracuse 1 N.Y. on the bottom. I have no knowledge of who made this but I do know that it is very well made and glazed. It is in mint condition. and its four indentations on the blue part make it quite unusual. About 40 years ago moved to rural Virginia although I still worked in Washington D.C. As a Ruritan member I supplied help at local home auctions. While rare porcelain china and oriental rugs were sold for next to nothing the Auctions came alive when the Stoneware from the basement and outbuilding was sold. The prices shocked a simple New York City boy like me. I gained an appreciation for collectable stoneware. When this Classic"Little Brown Jug" came into my store I was delighted. It is primitive, poorly glazed and what might have been termed a"second" by a fine pottery company. It is water tight and was tested for 2 days with no leaks. Here is a Charming 1892 NORTON LITTLE BROWN JUG celebrating the 500 Columbus Anniversary with"1492 Columbus 1892" incised on front. I believe these Jugs were made for the 1892 Columbian Exposition. They were made in Bennington. VT by the Norton family. Jug is approx. 2-7/8" high. There is a chip to the front of the top lip. Looks like maybe another small glaze fleck on top of rim. Antique Macomb Stoneware Co. Ceramic Crock Little Jug w/ Cork Illinois 5.5"
For sale is an antique whiskey/syrup stoneware pottery jug from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It is made by the"Macomb Stoneware Co Macomb ILL" which is incised at the bottom. Measures 5 1/2" tall. Not including the old cork, and is 4" wide at its widest point. The jug is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing. It does have a few glazing and manufacturing flaws. There is an area that looks like a scratch, but it is from manufacturing as it is glazed. Another area in the brown where there is a drip mark which is also glazed. See photos for condition. Macomb Stoneware became part of The Western Stoneware Co. in 1906.

PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE 18TH/19TH CENTURY SWEET LITTLE ONE-HANDLED STONEWARE JUG
This primitive antique salt-glazed stoneware one-handled jug is circa 18th/19th century. It is a nice small size. With a simple, humble form. The color is a wonderful natural tan mottled glaze. The jug measures ~4 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" wide across the widest part. It has a 1 3/4" slightly out-of-round base and a 1" mouth. Overall. The jug is in very good condition. There are no major chips or cracks. I do believe this jug is all original, with no restoration, but since I am not an expert in this field, I ask that you please zoom in on all of the pictures for detailed close-ups. Vintage Little Brown And Ivory Stoneware Jug. 5 1/2.in Tall X 3 1/4 In Wide
This is another little jug I really don't know anything about. I bought it at a resale store or yard sale because I like it. We are selling many of our belongings due to retiring and wanting to move out of state to be near the grandkids. It is 5 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide. Top is brown and the bottom ivory. The old cork has fallen in and I can't get it out! No chips cracks or crazing. Please ask any questions you have before bidding. I normally mail within one business day of receiving full payment.

Early 1800s very interestingly sprigged little brown and white stoneware jug
We are listing this very interestingly sprigged early 1800s brown and white stoneware jug- see the close up pictures for the quality of these sprigs(the jug is unmarked except for a small impressed letter x on the bottom) The front sprig is a procession of putti and a lion. One side sprig is Toby Philpot, and the other side sprig is a young boy with his dog- a unique combination of classical and contemporary 1800 themes. In addition to the sprigging on the jug there is engine turning above the base. The piece is 3 inches tall, almost 5 inches at its widest point, and in very good condition(there is a slight roughness at the front of the spout) Check this one out. And two different scenes of two classical women standing at an alter on the sides. Cute little 1850s Copeland relief molded stoneware jug
We are listing this cute little 1850s Copeland relief molded stoneware jug. It is marked on the bottom with the impressed COPELAND mark first used in 1847 and not used after 1866. It is very sweet and elegant looking. 4.5 inches tall, and 3.5 inches at its widest point. The jug is in good condition, but there are two small chips on the edge of the spout. Very nice little early 1800s blue glazed white stoneware jug - classical sprigs
We are listing this very nice early 1800s Georgian blue glazed white stoneware jug with classical mythology sprigging. There is no maker's mark on the piece. But it is a typical style and quality of the premiere potters of that time period. The front sprig is two putti/cherubs lighting a torch, and the side sprigs are both women/goddesses playing lyres. There is also engine turning above the base. The jug is 3 inches tall, a little over 3.5 inches at its widest point, and in very good condition. VTG LITTLE BROWN JUG OZARKS POTTERY SWIRL PAINTING STONEWARE PRIMITIVE HANDLE
This a little brown jug from the Ozarks. Pottery or stoneware. It is old but I don't know how old. 7.5" tall x 5" across bottom. Weight is approx. 3 pounds. Someone has painted this, perhaps in an attempt to make it look like Ozark Roadside Pottery. I tested a little spot and the paint would be easily removed with mineral spirits or something similar. Very charming and primitive as is. Notice the chip on the rim and the paint job is chippy depending on the way you turn it. From a non-smoking. No pets home. Cute little early 1800s Georgian blue & white glazed stoneware hunt-sprigged jug
We are listing this tiny little early 1800s Georgian blue and white glazed stoneware jug. Which is sprigged all around with a hunting scene. Although the jug is unmarked, the sprigging is quite well done, as is the engine turned banding above the base- indicating this was from one of the better potteries of that period. The jug is less than 3 inches tall, less than 4 inches at its widest point, and in very good condition. The handle is slightly out of line, there are the usual separation lines on some of the sprigs and the side of the spout, and there are two tiny glaze pops inside the spout- but none of this negatively affects the look of this cute little 200 year old piece. The jug is unmarked, but in addition to the hunt sprigging, there is a band of leaves sprigged below the rim(with a row of beading above that) The jug is 3.25 inches tall, 4.5 inches at its widest point, and in good condition. There is a piece of tree sprigging missing, the usual separation lines in the sprigging, and a few little spots of missing brown glaze. Still, it is a cute little 200 year old jug.
