Up for your bidding consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made in the USA. On the front in gold is a crest with words that appear to be Latin. Under the crest it says in gold Spring'71. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Vintage Moonshine Whiskey Jugs - Brown and Beige - Lot of 2 - 14 in and 1 ft
These were recently found in my late great-grandfather's old farmhouse. The big one is about 14 in. tall and about 8 in. in diameter. The smaller one is a little bigger than a gallon of milk and stands about a foot tall. As far as age. The old house has been abandoned for at least 30 years, so it's anyone's guess. There are no markings regarding manufacturer on either. Both have a glaze and are heavy, solid pieces. As seen in the photos, there are subtle random markings which, judging by similar items, seem to naturally occur during manufacturing. Neat find.

Offered is this small vintage or antique beige and dark brown"moonshine" jug. The jug stands approx. 7 1/2" high. Is 4 1/4" across at the base and holds about 1 quart(actually almost a cup more will fit all the way to the top of the neck) It is in very good condition. There are numerous bumps and raised areas on the surface. I discovered that t he cork is still inside when I added water to measure the jug's capacity but I could not get it out.

This auction is for a Vintage Whiskey or Moonshine Crock Jug. It is brown on top an lighter color on bottom. Has a handle and cork. I do not know if the cork is original to the bottle. I do not want to try to remove it for fear it will break or crack apart. Measures 11" tall not including cork. Some pits and seeds from when it was made. Has a small ding in side which I think is from when it was made because it is glazed over. Not exposed. Small hole in bottom but I don't think it goes through to inside, but I cant guarantee it without verifying it by taking out cork, which I don't dare do because it will crack. Some scratches and divots from when it was made. Çouple small chips on top and bottom of jug has some of the brown paint from top splattered on it when it was made. Somewhere along the line, one of the owners was an artist who painted this cute fisherman with his catch on the front! It's well done! That is approximately 2 pints and measures at 7 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. It was made in Monroe. N.Y. This commemorative jug was for a" Wet Down" of 2 of the departments new fire trucks back in 1987. It has the name Claude on the bottom which I believe must have been a member of the department. It also says Twin 1500GPM Pierce Pumpers. August 22, 1987. Underneath the Jug is Monroe Mugs, Monroe, N.Y and the telephone number and USA molded in. You have found a beautiful piece of folk art. Painted on a vintage moonshine/whiskey jug by artist Aleasa in 1974. A serene farm scene is depicted, complete with a large white farm house and gorgeous traditional red barn with silo. As old as this jug is, it obviously has some sort of history. Just imagine. It may have actually been used on a farm like this one. Or, by someone who lived in a cabin in the mountains. The painting covers the front half of the jug. And the back half is in its original state, as shown in the pictures. The back half of the jug has some crazing, and there are a few minor chips here and there, but those really only add to the overall character of the jug. It measures 11" high by 7" diameter.
