RARE late 1700/early1800 OVOID 9" JUG Single Handle DkGrey Unmarked
This jug came to me with a great story- it was recovered from a wreck dive off the coast of New Jersey. Mostly buried under sand. The jug does not have any maker mark, but various experts have dated it as late 1700's/early 1800's based on it's shape and composition. Dark grey glaze has a beautiful crackling pattern on one side, handle side shows normal glaze crackling. One inch chunk out of glaze(photo above) exposes red clay. Handle has spider crack, but was not repaired. Handle and mouth have chip. Dark brown stain in glaze under handle. 9" tall and 16" inches around widest point. This piece really is beautiful- in a weird way! It has a sense of history about it!

Very pretty mid to late 1800s relief molded white stoneware jug
We are listing this very pretty relief molded stoneware jug. Made in the mid to late 1800s(probably in England) The piece is unmarked, and I have not been able to identify the pattern, so I do not know the maker. It looks similar to jugs that Dudson and other English potters were making in the 1850s to 1870s. The jug is a little over 6 inches tall, 4.5 inches at its widest point, and very elegant looking with vertical designs overlying a stippled background. The piece is in excellent condition, with only a tiny separation line at the top join of the handle. This is a beautiful little jug- please view the closeup pictures and judge for yourself. We can currently only accept bids on this from the United States. The United Kingdom, and Canada. Shipping to the United Kingdom and Canada will be charged at cost. Antique Vintage Late 1800's Beehive 1 Gallon Stoneware jug with Bail Handle
This auction is from our family estate sale and was handmade and fired in the late 1800's- 1900. It is still very solid and intact. And holds one gallon of water that has been physically measured. As evident in the pictures, it has a beautiful spider webbed glazing and beige patina that has came naturally with age. It's approximately 9 1/2 inches tall and the base measures about 6 inches. The total circumference around the jug at the widest point below the shoulders is 23 1/2 inches. It's VERY heavy for its size weighing 3lbs 15.6oz empty. It has a very slight, minor chip on the back of the neck which is hard to see as it occurred quite some time ago and has darkened with age. A picture of it is included. It has a wooden stopper which has a small, plugged-hole drilled through from top to bottom. I assumed because of this that ... morewine was made in this jug at some stage in its long life. We have no solid evidence where it was made, other than our family has owned it for many generations and are originally from central Ohio with German heritage. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have and I'll do my best to help answer them. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
