Vintage Dog Ear P-90 P 90 Pickup-No Reserve
Old One but a GOOD ONE! This one is as an old friend of mine would refer to as"a piece of the Cross" It's out of a'54 Epiphone Zephyr Regent that had the original pickup removed. The hole patched and this pickup installed in the middle position. I can only guess at the age. But by the finish on the patch and the oxidation on the bottom, I would say that it's not much newer than the guitar. I would say it's probably no newer than 1960. WHAT I DO KNOW. is that it sounds incredible! The only reason that I'm selling it is that I want to go with a Lollar tapped pickup to get the 2 output levels. It has the Piano like low notes and it slams out like a kick to the chest. It has the famous P-90 touch sensitivity in spades! It reads 7.97 on the meter and comes with the wiring harness but the pots are oversized at 3/8th's ... moreinch. I'm including the cover which has some nice moderate wear on it. So there you have it. This‘Monkey Band’ figurine is one of a set of four that I am listing in four separate listings this week. They represent models 693. 694, 695 and 696 in this set. This one bears the underglaze incised number‘693’ on the base. I am listing each one separately in order to give collectors the opportunity to fill in any‘gaps’ in their collection of these figures. But, in each case, I have provided one photo showing all four of these lively musicians so that they can be seen together. The four comprise a flautist, a violinist, a trumpeter and a conductor, all made of heavy hard paste porcelain. The original‘Monkey Bands’ were reputedly first produced by the great Meissen factory about 1753-5 and were the result of a commission given to Meissen’s greatest figure modeller. Johann Kaendler who created a 22 piece‘orchestra’ of these wonderful figures, ... moreeach distinguished with marvellous individuality and wittiness in concept. They were immensely popular and much copied by other porcelain factories right through the 19th Century. I have been informed by a kind fellow eBayer(4/2/13) that these figures are from a Kronach factory in Upper Franconia. Germany, belonging to R& E Pech. I have confirmed that the mark appears on page 273 of Ludwig Danckert's invaluable'Directory of European Porcelain' The date is correct. This one is the‘Conductor’ He is extremely well modelled and painted in fine detail. He is conducting with visible enthusiasm! He carries an underglaze‘blue scissors’ mark. I am much indebted. As always, to Mr Geoffery Godden’s superb“Guide to European Porcelain”1993. On page 98 of that book he illustrates the‘scissors’ mark and reveals that it“occurs on late nineteenth century Dresden-type porcelains such as the Monkey Band’which are almost certainly of German origin” The conductor is beautifully painted in rich enamels. At auction is a pair of Staffordshire dogs. They have condition problems. So an animal rescue buyer would be appreciated. They measure 3 3/4" high, 2 1/2" wide and 1 5/8" thick. The left dog in the picture has small chips on both ears. There is a crack on the left ear with an attempted repair. There is a chip at the bottom near the rear haunches. The right dog in the picture has paint missing from his nose. He has crack lines on the front, between his legs when seen from a side view and a crack on the back at the bottom. This is a gorgeous pair of large handpainted porcelain figural KPM sleighs! A boy and girl dressed in Royal clothing and both sleighs covered in apprlied porcelain flowers. Beautiful! They are heavy weighted porcelain and each measure approximately 8 inches high by 10 inches wide. Both have some chipping to the applied flowers and leaves and on the boy's sleigh. Vintage Antique Mexican Statue Figurine Earthenware Ceramic Idol Artifact Rare!
I know very little about this piece except that it appears to b e extremely old and c ome s from the estate of a collector of artifacts and ant iquities. The piece is believe to be a Mexican i dol of some fash ion. And is made of a red clay. The only damage is some chips to the tips of the cro wn on the front of the piece's head. And one of these tips is missing entirely. The pie ce stands about 12" tall and is 7.5" wide. It is very interesting. I cannot begin to estimate a date for it. Von Schierholz Hand Painted Porcelain Candle Holder Pair Applied Flowers Germany
Up for auction is a pair of lovely porcelain hand painted candle holders with applied flowers made by Von Schierholz of Germany. Each candle holder is white porcelain with applied roses and leaves and applied blue flowers with leaves. The bases are scalloped and there is gold trim. They are 2 1/4" tall and 2 3/8" wide at the base. The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. One of the candle holders has a small indentation at the rim. But it is a factory flaw and the gold trim is intact. Both pieces are marked as shown. Insurance is included in the shipping fee. Good luck bidding and thanks for looking. Cupid's bow and arrows are on the ground at their feet, and the woman holds one golden arrow in her hand. The figure is a nice large size measuring 8 1/2" tall by 7" wide. And it is in excellent condition aside from arrow has tip chip and a few tiny nicks to flower petals/leaves, very minor. Beautiful antique c1899 German bisque piano doll- Blowing Kisses- It is 11.5cm(4.5" tall finely modeled with wonderful details. The doll is in very very good condition as you can see by the photos. In the 5th 7th& 8th photo you can see there's an indent in the shoulder which is quite common in early bisque pieces as there was often firing flaws. In the 8th photo I have tried to show a mark in the groin. The little black spots are paint which. I have not tried to remove. There is a photo of the markings however I do not know what they mean. From Germany is this small and beautiful handpainted antique porcelain Dresden Dancing Ballerina Figure with Ceramic Lace Tutu. This charming little girl with her arms extended is posed in the middle of a twirl. Her bodice is yellow. She wears gold slippers, and her white lace tutu is accented with little porcelain flowers that match the flower on her bodice and the other in her hair. Apart from missing portions of her ceramic tutu(two pieces are included) she is in excellent condition. Please view all pictures in close-up to see for yourself. She stands approximately 3 3/4 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide. Pair Genuine Victorian STAFFORDSHIRE Figures Figurines Highlanders Hunter Piper
This auction is for a fine pair of genuine Victorian Staffordshire figures. They are made from glazed white pottery with traces of gilt highlighting and depict a Highland piper and hunter. Both figures are dressed in green and wear kilts. The hunter is shown resting against his gun with his dog at his side. He has a feather in his hat and a cape over one shoulder. The piper is wearing a sporran and is holding bagpipes. The figures stand 15' high and measure 8' from side to side and 3 and 3/4' from front to back. Both are in very good condition given their age(and the fact that we brought them back from England in hand luggage! with no chips. Cracks or flakes. The paintwork remains good. There are no manufacturers marks but are genuine Staffordshire Victorian period.
