Normal condition as used vintage with some crazing to the gloss. No breaks or repairs that I am aware of. Or can see. Some manufacture flaws. To the finish as normal with all crockery. Moonshine jug in good condition. 6-1/2" diameter at base, 2 tiny chips on inside edge of lip, crackling in light tan glaze on lower half, and some drip mark hazing of surface of dark brown upper half, otherwise any other scrapes, dings, bumps dimples or other surface irregularities on this jug are from the forming process! No makers marks found anywhere on this, but close inspection does seem to show indications of hand-forming around the neck and bottom of handle/loop. Up for your bidding consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made in the USA. On the front in gold is a crest with words that appear to be Latin. Under the crest it says in gold Spring'71. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. This is an old stoneware/ceramic jug/crock that has been in storage for a lot of years. Could it have been used for whiskey or moonshine? It is a tannish gray at the bottom with brown at the top. No markings on it and no cork. Does have the usual blemishes that come with something this primitive and has a small chip at the bottom(could have been original) I'm not a good judge- this is probably about a one gallon size. Vintage Whiskey Moonshine Crock Jug Brown Top With Handle and Cork
This auction is for a Vintage Whiskey or Moonshine Crock Jug. It is brown on top an lighter color on bottom. Has a handle and cork. I do not know if the cork is original to the bottle. I do not want to try to remove it for fear it will break or crack apart. Measures 11" tall not including cork. Some pits and seeds from when it was made. Has a small ding in side which I think is from when it was made because it is glazed over. Not exposed. Small hole in bottom but I don't think it goes through to inside, but I cant guarantee it without verifying it by taking out cork, which I don't dare do because it will crack. Some scratches and divots from when it was made. Çouple small chips on top and bottom of jug has some of the brown paint from top splattered on it when it was made. Bottom edge has some chips and wear from age and ... moreuse. I don't know what the inside looks like or its condition since I wont remove the cork. A nice Vintage piece of crockery! Antique Prim Moonshine Whiskey Crock Stoneware Brown Pottery Shoulder Jug
sr 1262013 I am not an antique dealer. This is being sold for a friend who has had this forever and has had to part with his collections due to hard times. So please feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase! This jug has lots of flaws or some say character. I cannot not find definitive markings. However, there are markings underneath the pour spout that we can not decipher. There also appear to be markings on the bottom that look like initials, but age has deteriorated it. The brown part of the jug is full of flea bites, comes with the cork. The base of the handle is not perfect but it looks like it was manufactured that way. The crock has a dent in it on the right hand side of the spout, as well as a square chip from the base of the bottom. There are also flea bites and flaws from manufacturer. Bottom has a couple of hairline cracks. ... moreThis does come empty. Base is 7" diameter. This jug is approximately 12" high that includes the cork. Someone mentioned that this might be a Red Wing. This antique has probably seen a lot of use over the years and was probably used to hold moonshine at some point. it has probably seen a lot of partying in it's day. There is a cork in it which has an opening for liquid to pass through. It is dark brown on the top portion and kind of a tan/off white on the bottom portion. Base is a little over 7 inches tall and the entire jug is about 10.5 inches high. Base is approximately 7 inches in diameter. Bottom is slightly concave and has strips of old fabric affixed. Antique Whiskey / Moonshine JUG /Stoneware - Pottery- Crock/ Rustic - Primative
This is a very old stoneware/ pottery type jug. Likely used to hold whiskey, maybe moonshine! or water. It is 11 inches tall by 4 inches wide- I believe it is a 1 gallon capacity. The jug is a nice off white color and is all the same color which is somewhat uncommon. The neck and opening are nice and smooth. The cork is long gone sadly. There are a few chips on the bottom(not noticeable unless you flip it over) and a few rough spots and nicks along the extended lip of the body, but nothing deterring to the aesthetics of the jug. The bottom of the jug is not smooth like the rest of the jug, there are some slight ripples in the glaze and uneven coloration. The camera's flash bounced off of the surface and it may appear as though there is a crack in the bottom, however there are NO cracks in this jug. This is a really primitive piece and ... morewill look great in your rustic decor. Since it is all one color- and not two toned like so many jugs, it will be a great piece to add to a collection. You have found a beautiful piece of folk art. Painted on a vintage moonshine/whiskey jug by artist Aleasa in 1974. A serene farm scene is depicted, complete with a large white farm house and gorgeous traditional red barn with silo. As old as this jug is, it obviously has some sort of history. Just imagine. It may have actually been used on a farm like this one. Or, by someone who lived in a cabin in the mountains. The painting covers the front half of the jug. And the back half is in its original state, as shown in the pictures. The back half of the jug has some crazing, and there are a few minor chips here and there, but those really only add to the overall character of the jug. It measures 11" high by 7" diameter. This would make a wonderful decorative piece for anyone's home, bar or restaurant, and certainly an amazing addition ... moreto anyone's folk art or moonshine jug collection.
