I have two vintage whiskey jugs. Brown on top and beige on bottom. I cannot find any kind of markings on them. I think they may be 5 gallon judging by the measurements of others that look similar on eBay. They measure approximately 15 inches tall by a 10 inch diameter. Large and heavy. I have a 10 lb. scale and each is over on that so I am unsure as to the exact weight. Will update when possible. I cannot find any cracks, there is one chip on the botton of one jug as pictured.

This nice and well made antique stoneware jug that was probably made in the upper Midwest. The jug has a great brown glaze and a nice applied handle. It was probably filled with Whiskey. With the crock being in great condition. There are a couple glaze pops here and there, but those were done during manufacturing. Measures about 11" tall and is a 2 gallon size. The glazing on top is of brown swill. the bottom portion glazed in off white. Appears to be a two piece molded handle being put on after the jug mold and then glazed. Shows very little wear and observed no scratches couple of dings here and there. Check the picture. A few pin tip glaze flaws as you would expect. B ottom is lightly glazed in white. bottom is lightly crazed and has a small crack that has not hone through. You can see it in the picture. The 2 gal. jug measures about 14"h X 9" w. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. For sale is a large vintage two-tone 2 gallon whiskey stoneware crock jug. It stands 16" tall and is 8 1/2" across the bottom and weighs almost 14 lbs. The wording on the tan section is Mile End Distillery Co. Ltd. 86, Mile End Road, E. 2. Overall the jug is very clean and in very good condition, the only flaw I can see on it is a hairline crack on the back side(see photo 4) I do not know if the crack goes all the way through, or if is just in the glaze, but it does not take away from the appearance of the item. Up for bid is a very unique& beautiful antique 2 gallon whiskey jug. The jug has a mettalic iridescent glaze and was purchased in North Carolina at an estate sale. The sale was at an estate that had been in the same family for over 120 years. The information given to me when I purchased this jug was that it was made by Edgar Allen Poe of Fayetteville. NC. Poe was a successful businessman(brick maker) in Fayetteville but made unique iridescent whiskey jugs from 1880 to 1893. The house in which he and his family lived can still be toured in North Carolina. The only marks I can find on the jug are a number"2" that was stamped by multiple pin stamps(see pictures) There are kiln drippings on one side adding further character to this beautiful piece. This is a 2 Tone Color color jug with the top being a dark brown and the bottom section having a cream color. This is a large jug that weighs 26 pounds and measures 18 and 1/2" tall by 11" across at the base with a 2 and 1/4" across mouth. There is some minor wear present as well as a small chip on the inner section of the mouth as well as some fine hairline cracks towards the bottom in a small area section. I have provided photographs for this. There are no further breaks, chips, or repairs present. This is a must have stoneware jug for any serious collector.
