Welcome to my listing and page.I have the following item for sale that's a very nice used/preowned item.This piece would make a very nice item to add to someone's collection or put it to use.It's in great condition/shape and it's a used/preowned item it's not new.Attention all International bidder's and buyer's please read condition's at the bottom of my listing's. The following is stamped on the item: There are no maker mark's nor brand mark's.This is a antique/vintage whiskey/liquor jug and it's real heavy stoneware type material with a attached handle.It's a one colored jug it's a dark brown color.The complete jug has a very nice glaze coating but not on the bottom.This is a used item it has wear and light scratch/scuff mark's from normal use not abuse and has alot of life left ... morein it.There are some very small flea bite's type chip/nick's but nothing bad nor major chip's.No crack's,there is nothing glued on any of this piece,I do not no what quart size this is.For it's age this is still in great condition for a used item,the complete jug is very solid and heavy duty.On lip area there is two older chip/nick's,just below the lip area there is this small hole please look at my picture's you will see these mark's. The messurement's: it's about 9 1/4 inches tall/high and it's about 24 1/4 inches round in the middle and about 22 1/2 inches round on the bottom. I really don't know anything about this beautiful piece of pottery. It measures about 9 inches tall and 16 inches around at the widest point. It appears to be quite old and has Poland stamped on the bottom. There no cracks or chips just a few imperfections in the piece. I took two close up pictures of the top where there seems to be a bit of a chip. However I believe it is just due to a flaw in its original making. Thanks for looking! Enjoy your day! Posted with

Antique Stoneware Liquor Jug VAN ZUYLEKOM. LEVERT& CO A=1684 AMSTERDAM Measures approximately 12.5" high. I found the Company. Levert& Co. Amsterdam- Liquors" in a document on the Web titled"International Exhibition" dated 1876. Has wear with age includes surface markings and residue. The handle to the jug had broken off at some point in time as you can see by the cracks at top and bottom of handle. Despite this. The handle feels very secure and in place. There are a couple of chip marks at the bottom of the jug. Needs to be cleaned as I've made no attempt to do so. Please look closely at my pictures as I do consider them part of my description. up for auction is a vintage antique.primitive salt glaze.cream and brown. moonshine jug. it holds 1/2 gallon. 9 1/2' tall and 5 3/4' wide. has an applied handle. its in good clean condition.has factory flaws. no quality control back then.rough around the base. waves in the glaze. a chip around the top rim. a chunk of pottery on the side. needs to be sanded off. it gives the jug character.so i left it on it. you can decide.a few spots where the glaze didn't take. nice jug. shipping is a flat $13.50 to the lower 48 united states.

Whites Pottery, Utica, NY is famous for their cobalt paddletail and running bird stoneware designs that sell for thousands of dollars. It is salt glazed with cobalt blue. The front has the words"Utah Liquor Company and 167 South Main St" The backside features a scene of three men drinking. Below is more about the canteen and the Utah Liquor Company. One of the most prolific of the Utah liquors firms was the Utah Liquor Company. This firm is first noted in the 1894 in the Salt Lake City Directory. Special thanks to David Emett for contacting me to correct the information of the size of this rare canteen. Pretty sure with the photos you have listed that this jug is a quarter gallon rather that a half gallon. I am not aware of anyone who has actually measured the capacity of the canteens but for over 40 years this size is considered the quart. I already have a set but my two half gallons could be upgraded. Your jug is an exceptional example of this rare piece. The rarity of the quart has held but several other half gallon examples have surfaced. The quart usually brings a higher price than the half. The gallon is still the toughest to get. This vintage or antique beige and dark brown stoneware liquor jug is marked"A. C. Brauer Wholesale Liquor Dealers 390 Jackson Ave. Jersey City. N. J. in black or very dark blue. The half gallon jug(it actually holds about 8 oz. more than that) sits approx. 8 1/2" high and is about 5 1/4" across at the bottom. It is in very good condition. There are a couple of very small chips in the dark brown glaze. A few small chips in the bottom near the edge(not visible unless turned over) and a light area in the beige glazing(see last photo) I think this is a fairly uncommon jug; at the time of listing I saw no others from this company for sale anywhere. It has an original white slip ash glaze. This jug is hand thrown but many may have been made in the same manner. These type jugs were sold primarily to be used in the kitchen(white color) for vinegar and medicinal whiskey or cider. It is not signed. The jug is in good antique condition with some chips& flaws at base edge. It does have superficial surface cracks. The jug does hold fluid and does not leak. The jug was probably stored outside in the winter. We used to find these at barn sales and flea markets in N.C. but they have become very hard to find especially in this half gallon size. It is from Griel Bros Grocers and Liquor Co. of Montgomery Alabama and has very attractive, clear, and legible advertising on its salt glazed body It is a desirable size standing only 7 1/2 inches tall. It has typical signs of age. Small chips. flaking of the glaze in places, a couple tight short hairlines, but no structural loss of integrity to speak of at all. This is a fantastic find. The owner seemed to be sued a lot for not fulfilling orders and promises. I've been able to connect him to the beginning of Canadian Club and a few other huge whisky names. The crock is in decent shape for being over a hundred years old. It has a few notable chips and it has crazing throughout. There is a mark on the back that I can't tell if it's a scratch or crack. Antique 19th Century Stoneware Whiskey Liquor Jar Dark Brown Slip Glaze
Antique stoneware vessel to originally hold a type of alcohol usually made from distilled sorghum. The condition is amazing for its age. It is very thick and very heavy the clay is very course so the walls have to be thicker as the course clay is not fine. The glaze is traditional brown slip that is typical to early 19th century pieces. So this being so rare gives it a certain rustic beauty. The pictures speak for themselves. Excellent condition. Antique 2 Gallon Stoneware Wine and Liquor Jug Steuben County Chicago Illinois
Hard to come by advertising jug from Stueben County Wine Company out of Chicago Illinois. Jug shows the original phone number and address. And the graphics are clean and sharp. Unfortunately, this crock does have some significant damage to it. There is a large crack running down the front down to the bottom(all pictured) and there is a very large chip out of the lip. Still, despite this, the piece does display well, but it is by no means a mint condition example. It measures 14" tall and 9" wide at the base.

Amazing. Antique, single-handled, stoneware, 1.5 gallon, jug- possibly used as a liquor storage container. BLANCHARD& FARRAR 14& 15 DOCK SQUARE BOSTON" clearly and deeply stamped in BLUE on the front. From the information we could gather on the web, Blanchard& Co. were importers and wine merchants at 31 Faneuil Hall Square, Boston, MA. in the late 1800's/early 1900's. Jug measures just under 12" tall; with a 6 3/4" base. Opening 1 1/2" Weighs apprx. 6 1/2 lbs. Fantastic condition, considering its age- smooth glaze finish; nice solid ridge line around the neck. Glaze on top of handle shows some thumb-wear. Jug has a small chip at the spout and a couple of small, hairline cracks near the spout that appear to be superficial and in the glazing surface only.
