Authentic Small Vintage Basque Stoneware Wine Jug
This is an authentic little vintage Basque stoneware wine or water jug. The loop at the top was used to lash the jug to the saddle of the shepherd. This is a rare smaller size. The jug is made from grayish/white clay. And is undecorated. The jug was hand-formed. It measures 7” tall, and 4-1/2” from spout to air hole. It measures 3” across the bottom. The scent of the wine still lingers inside! The jug is in perfect condition. Free of cracks and chips. It is not marked, as it was made for utility, and not for export. 8 1/4 inch tall. Old heavy embossed stoneware pitcher or jug, has pewter lid with thumb latch, man figural handle, heavily embossed with grapes and leaves and bacchus with other designs, marked Ridgeway& Co with their anchor and urn seal on base, no chips or major damage. But where the thinnest part of the top of the handle attaches to the pitcher their is a very old thin dirt filled hairline crack, probably has been there 100 yerars. vintage stoneware wine jug, with handle and cork aged decor
This is a heavy classic stoneware wine jug it is believed to be from around the 1920's since it was my girlfriends grandmothers she got when she was in her early 20's and she currently is 93. It weighs a lone 6.83 pounds and has a glazed finished as you can see. There are marks as I have shown and that helps with the description. The age marks has not effected the integrity of this item at all. I just want this item to go to a good home and with someone who might have more information on this and can appreciate it. Rare Antique Stoneware Wine Jug Folk Art Pottery 1800's Beautiful!!
Antique Early American Folk Art Stonewear two handled jug made in the New England area circa 1850-1870's. Very pretty blue color with five flowers Dandelions? painted on each side of the jug. At one time. This jug did have a cork and was used for dandelion wine or some other type of spirit. It measures approximately 7 3/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide. In very good condition considering it's age. Some wear shown on the handles and chip in one of the flowers. Please see photos for any imperfections. I tried to show every angle I could. There are no cracks or signs of restoration. A 17th. century “Westerwald” salt glazed stoneware wine jug around 1690
From an old Dutch stoneware collection I’m offering a German beer jug. The jug was made in Westerwald in Germany at the end of the 17 th. century. The jug is decorated with leaves in manganese in a decorated grey square against a cobalt blue background. On top of the jug there is a pewter lid. Which dates according to my opinion, from a later date The condition of the jug is almost perfect, there are two very small hairlines in the handle and there is a crack in the foot(see pictures) furthermore there are no chips or restorations. 5 gallon earthenware jug brown on cream stoneware wine crock
Sturdy. Utilitarian earthenware jug is cream color with a brown top. It has a stenciled"5" on it, so it's a five gallon ceramic jug, but there's no other visible mark on this puppy. It is 18 1/2 inches tall and is on an 11-inch base. There are some chips(see photo) on the body. And on the base. There's some crazing, too, and some surface scratches and wear consistent with use and age. See photos, or contact us for more.

Here is a Primitive Antique Hand Turned Gray with Blue Glaze Stoneware Crock Water/ Wine Jug. Its unique urn shape and design gives it an almost a Persian look. It measures 9" tall x 7" in diameter at the top and 4 1/2" diameter base. It is stamped at the side of the base with a backwards"E" It has several curved kiln marks on the bottom. It is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chip marks. It does have one very small cut roll mark on the outer rim. The the cut roll mark does not affect the structure of the jug. The body of the jug is in EXCELLENT condition with very minor surface wear, all the lettering is still very bold for the most part, and there is a small chip around the hole for the lamp cord! There are 5 small chips around the rim and the handle was removed I believe when the lamp was made! This is an older conversion as the plug is not polarized! This stoneware jug is in great shape for its age and still has vibrant cobalt blue color and displays great character throughout the entire piece. A few minor flaws are evident. OLA may refer to an ancient Egyptian technique where jug was covered with a dark slip before firing and polished after firing.

A 17th. century “Westerwald” salt glazed stoneware wine jug around 1680/1690
From a Dutch stoneware collection I’m offering a German beer jug. The jug was made in Westerwald in Germany at the end of the 17 th. century. The jug is decorated with leaves in manganese in a decorated grey square against a cobalt blue background. The condition of the jug is almost perfect. There are two very small hairlines in the handle and there is a crack in the foot(see pictures) furthermore there are no chips or restorations. I think the jug had a pewter lid in the past, because you can see a discoloration on the handle(see pictures) the height is approx. 8” 20.5 cm) Provenance: this Westerwald jug was excavated in the city of Amsterdam in the eighties on the Prinsengracht(one of the famous canals of Amsterdam) and has been in a private collection until recent.

I don't know the maker but do know I have never seen anything like this one! The front is stamped WINE and underneath that are a series of incised fish an some sort of plant alternating all the way around. Years ago I saw a crock with this incised decoration but it had no markings other than that(and was crazy expensive) This jug has a great somewhat ovoid shape. The WINE stamp stands out even better in person. There is some sort of stone ping to the lower left of the word WINE that did lead to a hairline crack ... moredrifting across the front. It does not get any closer than 1 inch to the cobalt band with the fish and WINE stamp. Everything is pictured. It is truly a fantastic piece of stoneware! It has been sitting in my dining room since I purchased it. If it were not for an unexpected expense this jug would stay permanently in my dining room! Don't miss out on this rarity! The owner seemed to be sued a lot for not fulfilling orders and promises. I've been able to connect him to the beginning of Canadian Club and a few other huge whisky names. The crock is in decent shape for being over a hundred years old. It has a few notable chips and it has crazing throughout. There is a mark on the back that I can't tell if it's a scratch or crack. Stoneware Jug Bottle Light Blue Wine Whiskey Vintage 11.1/4" Tall w Makers Mark This bottle is approximately 11.1/4" tall. The diameter is 9.5" and it weighs a little more than 2 pounds. There are some minor areas of peeling paint/glaze and a hairline crack or maker's defect along the neck. The bottom side is marked with what I believe to be the maker's mark with some numbers. I do not know the age or the maker. But I think this is old. The color is a light blue or some may call it a baby or sky blue.

Hard to come by advertising jug from Stueben County Wine Company out of Chicago Illinois. Jug shows the original phone number and address. And the graphics are clean and sharp. Unfortunately, this crock does have some significant damage to it. There is a large crack running down the front down to the bottom(all pictured) and there is a very large chip out of the lip. Still, despite this, the piece does display well, but it is by no means a mint condition example. It measures 14" tall and 9" wide at the base.

Rare Antique F,I & K Round Wine Jug Salt Glazed Stoneware Cobalt Writing WowDeco
Here we have up for auction(1) antique stoneware salt glazed Wine adevetising jug. Not sure if it is I F& K or F I& K. Looks like it would hold a gallon. Couldn't find too much about this jug but I did find some. It was manufactured between 1850-1895. Probably by Whites of Utica NY as it has their collar design with the notch for pouring. Standing about 14" tall to top of handle. Jug itself measures 11 3/8" tall by 10 1/2" wide by 5" deep. Add it to your collection today! Very heavy jug at 6 pounds and 13 ounces. Vintage Miniature Stoneware "Moonshine" Jug-Grandpa Meier's Fortified Apple Wine
Offered is this miniature vintage stoneware"whiskey" jug. The glazed beige and reddish-brown jug has a partial label from Ohio's Meier Winery for"Grandpa Meier's Fortified Apple Wine" The jug sits just under 3 1/4" high and is 2" in diameter across the bottom. It is in very good condition. With no chips or cracks. The glazed surface shows considerable crazing or crackling. The partial label shows only part of the word"fortified" and only the"e" in"apple" The cork is still in place. The jug probably dates from the 1930s-1950s. Vtg Blanchard & Farrar Dock Square Faneuil Hall Boston Liquor Wine Stoneware Jug
Amazing. Antique, single-handled, stoneware, 1.5 gallon, jug- possibly used as a liquor storage container. BLANCHARD& FARRAR 14& 15 DOCK SQUARE BOSTON" clearly and deeply stamped in BLUE on the front. From the information we could gather on the web, Blanchard& Co. were importers and wine merchants at 31 Faneuil Hall Square, Boston, MA. in the late 1800's/early 1900's. Jug measures just under 12" tall; with a 6 3/4" base. Opening 1 1/2" Weighs apprx. 6 1/2 lbs. Fantastic condition, considering its age- smooth glaze finish; nice solid ridge line around the neck. Glaze on top of handle shows some thumb-wear. Jug has a small chip at the spout and a couple of small, hairline cracks near the spout that appear to be superficial and in the glazing surface only.
