A gorgeous Cobalt Blue color. This duo is exquisite. The basin is HEAVY. It is in very good condition with a little nick on the side edge(see pic) The pitcher in good condition. Elegant Antique White Pitcher~Royal Ironstone~Johnson Bros England
Tall water pitcher standing 12.5" from base to the flower on the handle tip. No major flaws of cracks or chips evident. There's a very small manufacturing flaw under the glaze near the base and one fleck of wood ash on the side. Yes, these beautiful antique pieces were produced with heat from an open wood fire. When held to a strong light, there's evidence of very light minor scratching. Johnson Brothers began manufacturing in 1883 in the Staffordshire district in the Hanley settlement and this would have been one of their earliest patterns as this tall, slim with rounded base style was produced in the 1880s and 1890s. Johnson Brothers England Royal Ironstone Embossed Pitcher in a very Rare color. This pitcher is a faint faint blue, almost like an eggshell white tone. Its in near mint condition beautiful detail, even the bottom is almost perfect with minimal scuffing. Please look at the pictures. According to my research the Pankhurst factory operated from 1850 to 1883, with“ Co” being added in 1852, when J. Dimmock joined J.W. Pankhurst as a partner. This would date this as a mid to late 19 th century ironstone piece. DETAILS: Ironstone pitcher. Pitcher is 7 1/4” in height. Base is 4” by 3 ½” oval. The handle is simple. My research shows this water pitcher to have been made by William& Thomas Adams(My Granny's Attic Antiques: UK Porcelain and Pottery Marks) They were in business from 1866-1900. Which put them during the"Aesthetic Movement" of 1860-1900. The pitcher measures 12 1/2" tall to the spout. Pattern is brown transfer. Marked on the bottom"W& T Adams England" with"Adelaide" stamped in a ribbon Handle is firm. But I would only recommend it to be used for display Sent via UPS to include insurance.

This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. There are some scratches on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher sits but again consistent with age. Considering this is around 100 years old it is in very good condition. White Ironstone Pitcher Alcock England Barnum and Bailey Elephant, Dumbo Jumbo
A very rare Victorian period ironstone pitcher with elephant decoration on handle. Elephant pitcher was made to acknowledge the Barnum and Bailey elephant. Jumbo. Pitcher also has a chrysanthemum decoration on each side at the top. Near the handle and at the base of the handle. This piece measures about 8 inches high with a 4 3/4 base. 6 inches from handle to end of spout, 4 1/2 inches by 4 inches at base. Piece has crazing but no chips. Has a surface crack on base that does not go through to the inside of the pitcher. It's not a perfect piece but it is very rare. Especially in this size. Made by H. Alcock and Co. England. From Barnum and Bailey's timeline: 1882- Barnum brings Jumbo. A massive 12-foot African elephant, to America. The word"jumbo" becomes part of the English language.

There is a line on the bottom that is noticeable. It runs about 4 inches long. J&G Meakin Ironstone Water Pitcher - Block Optic - Hanley England - circa 1890
J&G Meakin"Block Optic" Ironstone pottery was produced by the Meakin Brothers both in plain white as well as with copper luster decoration. Offered is a huge white ironstone pitcher that epitomizes the tendency of that period toward squared. Angular shapes. Measuring a very generous 12" high(at tip of thumbrest) and with the distance between the spout and the handle being 9 1/2" the pitcher has a squared. Eight-panelled body with a pronounced waist that tapers gently as it moves up toward the slightly scalloped rim. Below the scalloping a narrow band in relief accentuates the neck's perimeter. Appropriately marked on the underside of the base with the pottery's signature in underglaze black print this pitcher was made by J. G. Meakin in their works at Hanley. Staffordshire some time between 1890 and 1914 Exact ... moredating is difficult as the Meakins did not register their shapes. Condition on the pitcher is excellent. For its large size. This pitcher has a very delicate and classy look. The glaze is in excellent shape, very shiny and translucent with a slight blueish tinge to it and no crazing. The white of the ironstone body is crisp and bright, unmarred by stains or other discolorations. As you can see in the pictures. This is a truly eye-catching piece of ironstone.

It is in overall very good condition but there is a moderate amount of crazing on it. Pictures 2 and 3 have enhanced contrast in order to better point out the crazing so that there is no question. I am offering for sale this very beautiful Wood& Sons. Ltd. England, Ironstone Ware, TALL Pitcher. This Pitcher measures a nice 12 1/2 inches tall! The circumference of the center is 26 inches around and it weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces. This Pitcher has a sweet embossed Fleur de lis pattern just under the top of the handle on each side and there is a Gold Pansy flower in the center of the Pitcher on each side. The gold trim on this is in good condition with the exception of the top of the handle on the sides. It is a bit worn off. There are no chips or cracks on this piece but there is crazing. All in all this is a beautiful vintage piece that would look nice with most decor or holding a large bunch of flowers. I am a good packer and shipper so I will use the utmost care.
