Thought it may be ironstone but possibly just a very heavy ceramic. This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. Rare all white toiletry or wash pitcher, manufactured during the 1903 to 1910 time frame, which stands 12 inches tall and is 8 inches in diameter at its widest part. The pitcher carries the back stamp of the Burgess& Campbell Company, which is a crown in a circular ring with the words, Royal China above the crown. Noted by both Edwin Barber's book, U.S. Marks on Pottery and Lois Lehner's volume, U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain, And Clay, the Burgess and Cambell name, under the crown trademark, was replaced by the name, International when the company formed new business partnerships in 1903. The International Pottery Company was one of a large number of potteries formed in the Trenton area during the late 1800's that became known ... moreas the Staffordshire of America. In over-all marvelous condition for its 100+ years of age. There are no cracks, chips, or nicks. We do note that there is crazing to some areas and a yellowing/staining of the white porcelain, where over the years, minerals from the water have seeped through the porcelain. Antique 1800's John Edwards Victory Ironstone Wash Set
This a nice wash set by John Edwards that includes a pitcher. Wash bowl, chamber pot and shaving cup that has some damage but still displays very nice. All of the pieces have a beautiful dolphin handle. The pitcher has a crack at the top of the handle but it is hard to see in the pictures, it has no chips. The pitcher is 12" tall. The chamber pot has two chips on the under side of the lid and one chip on the rim of the pot, it has no cracks. The pot is about 6.5" tall with the lid on. When the lid is on the chips can't be seen. The bowl has no chips or cracks. The bowl is 14" in diameter and 4" tall. The shaving cup is 3.5" in diameter and 3.25" tall. Lovely antique white ironstone pitcher and bowl. Mark on the bottom identifies it as by Edwin Bennett Pottery Co. of Baltimore MD. Both pieces are marked. Although the mark on the pitcher is very light at this point in time. Both bowl and pitcher have staining and mild crazing(please see photos) There is a hairline crack near the top of the bowl(I have provided two views of the crack- one from the interior of the bowl and one from the exterior) There are also three small marks/ dots on the interior of the bowl. Real nice Ironstone Wash Basin w/Pitcher. pre-owned
Unsigned Wash basin w/ water pitcher are in Lovely condition. Used to decorate Hutch. No signatures or markings except a small"c" on the bottom of Basin. I am not a professional so i cannot tell you exactly who. What or where except it has some age and has been very well taken care of. There is some natural occuring crazing on the Basin. Wonderful scroll design on Basin and Pitcher and Blue Victorian Floral Transfer as shown in photos. This set is beautiful, no chips, or cracks. The Basin is off round but pretty much measures 16" diam. x 4" deep. The pitcher is a wonderful 12"x 9.25" Having a smaller home, i have no room for this. This terrific white ironstone basin was made by Joseph Goodwin in Tunstall. England. This round bowl measures approx 13.5" across and is approx 5" deep. There are no chips or cracks. When I washed it up for the pictures, a very fine approx 2" hairline showed up while wet.never new it was there. When it dried again it did fade, it was very hard to see. but it is there. This bowl is nice and shiny. On the bottom is a impressed mark with a Staffordshire Knot. Inside the knot is"Joseph Goodwin, Ironstone China, Tunstall" This bowl was owed by me. I have always used and enjoyed my ironstone. Up for sale is a very nice large water pitcher(9.50” tall. 6.75” diameter) and wash basin(3.50” tall, 13.50” diameter) made by Treasure Craft, a California Pottery Company, in the 1960’s. THE RIM OF THE BASIN HAS THE SAME MATCHING TURQUOISE SHADE SURROUNDING THE PIECE. THE BASIN HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS AS THERE IS A BIG CHUNK BROKEN OUT OF THE RIM ABOUT 3" LONG AND REACHING DOWN INTO THE BASIN WITH A HAIRLINE CRACK EXCEEDING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BASIN. The white bowl is nearly 16 inches in diameter. The pitcher is 12 inches in height. The bowl has no chips. But does show evidence of crazing. The last picture shows the one area of crazing is more significant than any other. The African woman on the side of the picture is wearing an apron kerchief and looks like a red dress or skirt and blouse. Sold as is. See photographs and title. The ironing table. Vintage Large IRONSTONE Wash Basin and Pitcher PINK & IVORY Guardian ANGEL
Beautiful. Large, vintage ceramic wash basin and pitcher. This wonderful set was recently found in northern Wisconsin. It is in very good condition with one tiny paint fleck missing on the pitcher rim. Normal crazing noted. No chips or cracks. Colors are pink and ivory with the picture of a guardian angel near the bed of a sick child. The basin measures 15 7/8" diameter x 4 5/8" high. The pitcher measures 11 3/4" high. Insurance is included in the listing price.

Antique All White Embossed Water Pitcher and Wash Basin Bowl. The pitcher measures 12.5" height and 8" wide at widest part of body. Fancy scroll handle and ribbed body, bottom mark is black Royal Ironstone China Alfred Meakin Ltd England. The Wash Basin measures 4" deep and 15" diameter at rim, it has a lovely embossed design and marked on bottom in green Royal Ironstone China W.H.Grindley& Co. England. The bowl has tiny faint overall crazing, no chips,nicks or cracks to either piece. This has different makers but acquired together and matches nicely. All white. This is a beautiful Victorian Johnson Brothers Royal Ironstone Pitcher that measures 11 1/4 inches tall. There is no crazing or cracks but one small chip but remember this has survived from the Victorian Era.
