Pair of 8” antique Gaudy Welsh plates. Salad plate/dessert plate. Perfect cabinet place size. Very rare and hard to find pattern. Imari style. Circa 1840-1860. ... moreIronstone lusterware. Poppy flower pattern. The edging is a copper metallic color which has worn with use. Plate 1 on left is in best condition. Plate 2 on right has imperfections. See photos. Repaired hairline crack back of plate. You can see on plate 2 five varying size flea bites and chips to plates edge. Looks to be touched up by blue sharpie. Blue does come off yet I did not wash it off. Does not detract from the beauty of the piece given its age. Please view pics so you can view imperfections. Plate 1 is 8” and plate 2 just slightly more than 8”. Hand painted pieces.

This sweet little pitcher predates a lot of the later"Gaudy Welsh" pieces. I've seen only one other one with panels of solid color. The ... moretwo bright green panels and the one cobalt blue panel are all under the glaze. The flower and leaves on the three alternate panels are all hand-painted over the glaze. The pitcher has six lobed ribs or panels. It measures 4" 10.2 cm) in height and 2 3/4" 7 cm) in diameter at the widest point. Most of these were done in earthenware or a heavy Ironstone. This one is a thin porcelain and you can see light shining through it when held up to a lamp. There is a little purple luster trim which was on the green panels. But is worn. There is a luster stripe on the knobbed bracket handle. It also has the early prominent spout. There is a quarter inch thin, faint,U" shaped line on the inside rim of the pitcher, that does not go through to the outside. This line can be seen in the two pictures of the top in this listing. This pitcher is not marked, but the early ones rarely were. There is a $1.00 charge for a new box within a larger new box and ample packing material to ensure safe delivery. Antique Gaudy Welsh Vase Ewer 1 Of A Kind W/Coraline & Many Other Techniques SEE
This is a very unusual piece. It's porcelain with several different colors of enamel using almost every technique that can be used. Such as coraline, moriage, sponge-ware, and other raised styles. It looks like cloisonne on the neck, but it's psudo-cloisonne in yellow and gold. Some of the colors used are gold, red, orange, pink, yellow, green, white, and 2 different shades of blue. There is also some very fine crazing, or crackle glaze- mostly on the bottom. There is a signature on the bottom that looks like: WM Pell, or Dell, also other letters, and the number 30. I wish I knew more about this vase/ewer, as it's always been one of my favorite pieces. It's 6 3/8" high, and 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point. It's in very good condition with no chips, or cracks, and only a little gold paint loss on the handle. ... moreSee the pictures for more. 19thC GAUDY DUTCH WELSH CREAM PITCHER FACE SPOUT BEARDED MAN. RILEY, ENGLAND A ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL LOOKING ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE. Ca.1802-1828. GAUDY CREAM PITCHER with FIGURAL SPOUT in the form of the HEAD of a BEARDED MAN" Octagonal Form. Hand painted vibrate colors decoration foliage motifs.Pattern name unknown? MARKED on underside: OPAQUE CHINA- embellished marks around this term. The following information was obtained from wwwmarks4ceramicscom after sending them photos of the MARK& PITCHER for identification. Face Jug: The term"Opaque Porcelain" is yet another phrase for IRONSTONE. And was used almost exclusively in England, so at least we know that it was most likely made in the UK. However, this term was used quite frequently and many companies used a variety of embellished marks around this term, which are not ... morenecessarily registered or documented, and it is nearly impossible to find a precise match that would be unique. However, one such company, JOHN& RICHARD RILEY(Burslem. Staffordshire, UK) is known to have made and exported large numbers of"Gaudy Dutch" earthenware to the US, ca 1802- 1828. In this case, our opinion is that this was most likely made by the Rileys. I personally was not sure if it was GAUDY DUTCH- GAUDY WELSH or GAUDY IRONSTONE. I am only going by the above information that I received from. APPROX. SIZE: 6 1/4" Height. 3 1/8" Diameter across Top Rim, 2 1/4" Bottom Base Diameter. Pitcher Gaudy Welsh Ironstone Jug Pre-1840's Snake Handle Hand-Painted
For your consideration. This beautiful Gaudy Welsh Ironstone Jug is circa 1840's and doesn't have a single chip. I find that amazing! This had an octagonal body and base and the color is still very good, too. The snake handle has a hairline separation on one side of the snake's head where it meets the side of the jug, but this is very faint and it is very strong and firm. The outside of the spout is faintly darkened, there are a few specks here and there, and the interior is crazing and has some darkened age spots. This has a lovely painted detail on the inside of the spout, and the hand-painted pattern has metallic coppery touches. This is 7.25" tall and the same from spout to back of handle. This makes a gorgeous collectible decorative piece or. With care and a glass insert, it would make a lovely vase. Lovely Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink & Copper Lustre Pitcher ~ GRAPE ~ c1840 NR
A Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink& Copper Lustre Pitcher/ Jug c1840 ~ Gaudy Welsh Grape Pattern Molded Pitcher ~ 6 1/2" high ~ 6 1/2" across from handle to spout First Note on this jug: Ignore all the minor imperfections in the enamel and white glaze you see in these pics; this is another of those times I have a piece I love so much and photograph to be horrified by how many little dings show up. That's the good and bad part about very large photos; they will accurately show you what's there but they don't give you a sense of the physical presence of the piece. This small jug looks fantastic on display. It is full of color and lustre, and although it is not a rare Gaudy Welsh variety it is one of the nicest I've owned. The pink lustre frond background is very vivid as well as the copper lustre detail overlay on ... morethe cobalt. As you can see in the pics, the jug is molded in six panels with leafy details on the handle and top rim. There is a tiny bit of discoloration at the very rim of the spout. And there is random flaking to the white pottery; mostly seen on the handle but I wouldn't call any of it disfiguring. There is also wear or flaking to the red enamels on the most protruding parts of the jug, probably caused by bumping into other pieces or rubbing. Overall. This jug is beautiful to look at and wonderful to hold. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English/ Historical Staffordshire/ porcelain/ pottery/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed.
Welsh Gaudy Flower Pitcher with Hydra Handle, 1840's
This is a beautiful and vibrant pitcher in Welsh gaudy dating from the 1840's. Measuring 6 inches in height. It is octagonal in shape and there are no cracks. There is wear around the lip and rim, as can be seen in the photograph, hence the reduced price. The hand painted details are exceptional. And the colors pop. This would make a beautiful tradition to your collection.
Gaudy Welsh Stradforshire Ironstone Jug c. 1840's Snake Handle Hand-Painted

Gaudy Dutch Welsh Pitcher Antique 19 th c Oyster Pattern 4 ½” Tall A rescue from a Detroit area estate… Gaudy Dutch(or Welsh) Pitcher… 4 ½” tall… Un-marked… as to maker) Good color to the decoration… Pattern may be referenced as‘Oyster’ let me know if I am off and I am happy to correct) Condition Overall Good condition… Decoration is in very good condition with very minimal wear… A couple of small flakes to the spout and two(2) tight hairlines… Some light crazing to the interior… No chips or flakes to the base… No repairs… Decoration in rust. Blue, green and copper luster/gold… I am no Gaudy Dutch expert but feel confident this is period… of English manufacture… and dates to the 1810-30 or mid-19 th c period… Gaudy Dutch Gaudy Dutch pottery was made in England for the American market from about 1810 to 1820. Other similar wares are called Gaudy Ironstone and Gaudy Welsh. Some of the Gaudy Dutch items were marked with factory names, such as Riley(1802-1827) E. Antique Early Flow Blue Orange Floral Pink Lustre Gaudy Welsh Dutch Pitcher
Beautiful early antique either Gaudy Dutch or Welsh I think. It is unmarked and is early. The colors are incredibly vibrant. Pink Lustre. Orange and flow blue hand painted in a floral design. It's in good condition for its age. There is an embossed design under the spout. And an amazing decorative handle. It has just a couple of spots where the paint has worn and one can be seen in the first photo. There it a separation inside by the handle that is obviously in the making and is just in the glaze. There is some slight browning on the top edge and on the bottom there is a separation in the pottery on the edge with a very small shallow chip. These imperfections don't stand out by any means. It measures 6" high and 6" across. Thanks.
