LARGE AUTHENTIC ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA WARRANTED PITCHER & WASHBASIN -- ANTIQUE
This is an authentic large Royal Ironstone washbasin pitcher and bowl. This is an estate find that came from a home that was built in late 1800s and was full of antiques from the original family. It does have some flaws but somewhat to be expected with age and use! The item was used for hand washing and is quite large: Bowl is 15" diameter and 4.5 lbs. Royal Ironstone China Warranted Pitcher Mottled Two Tone Beige & Off White 13”
I got this in a second hand store so I don’t know its story. As in its age or origin. I’m not an expert on these, so did a little internet research and learned that this is a turn-of-the century American made item(not from England but mimicking English Staffordshire pieces) Please contact me before bidding if you have concerns or questions. Thanks for looking! Photos taken both with and without a flash because its colors look much different in the different lightings. I would call it“warm beige” and“cream. The colors are mottled and unevenly applied with a sort of“robin egg” effect. The lower quarter is much lighter than the top. Its surface is smooth and very shiny. Pretty! There is no basin. Just the pitcher. It’s large at just under 13” high by about 7” in diameter at the widest point. The base measures about 5” in diameter. You can see ... morea seam down the center in front and back. The base it stamped“Royal Ironstone China Warranted” with an emblem showing a lion and a unicorn on each side of an oval shield with a crown on top of the shield. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE It’s in very good vintage condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. There’s crazing throughout that is so faint that I didn’t see it until I looked under a 5x magnifier. I tried to get the crazing to show in the photos but had no luck. It’s clean inside and out. I see manufacturing anomalies and age related patina, but no damage except the crazing. If there is any other damage then it is so minor that it eluded my inspection. Please see all photos. Vintage Ironstone Porcelain China Warranted Pitcher E70 ?
7-1/2" high. 6-1/2" long, and 5" wide white ironstone pitcher with a brand stamped on the bottom under the glaze"Warranted" a lion and unicorn beside a throne" and what appears to be"E70" There are no cracks but there is a tiny chip at the top of the spout(shown in last picture) The piece is covered with fine close together horizontal crazing lines under the glaze.

Collector's Warranted Ironstone China
Earthenware made between 1853-71 at the Clayhills Pottery. Tunstall, Stoke on Trent. Original partners were Thomas Elsmore and Thomas Forster. Some crazing- some wear on edge- one less than pin point pottery glazing imperfection mark on top- otherwise excellent shape. No discoloration on top of platter. Remarkable for its age. Seal on bottom of platter besides the crest is not readable. 13 1/2 inches long by 10 1/2 inches long. Great gift for the collector at holiday time!
