Orkney Collectibles presents: Maddock Pottery Trenton NJ USA Flow Blue Delft Pitcher We are pleased to offer this lovely Maddock Pottery Company Royal ... morePorcelain Blue Transferware Pitcher manufactured at the Lamberton Works of Trenton. New Jersey, America. The company was owned by Thomas Maddock& Sons, Moses Collear, C.A. May and Thomas P. Donoher. This beautiful pitcher features a Delft Dutch water scene in Holland with windmills and sailboats. Vintage antique Maddocks porcelain large pitcher with a nice grey blue and white Dutch and sailing vessel design. Reads: MADDOCKS WORKS LAMBERTON ROYAL PORCELAIN. Measures approx. 11 1/2" at its tallest. And 9" in diameter at the base. No chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing and I would consider it in good condition for its age. Has some staining on the inside that you can see as it has not been cleaned and had dirt in it. A great display piece- there is no apparent repairs or cracks evident AS IS condition. However, no apparent crazing, dirt inside, some use evident Here for your perusal is this Wonderful Porcelain Water Pitcher It would have once been part of a set. There would have been a large bowl to hold the water for the washing of the face and hands. There might have been a soap dish. It was made by the Maddocks Lamberton Works out of Trenton. New Jersey. It was called Royal Porcelain. Based on the back stamp on the base. The Pitcher possibly would have been made between 1892 and 1924. Based on the nature of its usage, it was mostly on the earlier side. This pitcher is huge. At least as pitchers go. The approximate circumference of the body is 25 inches. Its tallest point is 11 inches at the spout. It weighs in at over 4 pounds. It is embellished with grey blue and white detailing. My guess is of a charming Dutch village and sailing vessels. Certainly it has slightly faded with time and use. But there are no surface type chips on the base. There is normal wear to the base. I have not cleaned the pitcher and it is dirty inside, but I have left that for

Senator England Crown Semi-Porcelain Flow Blue Pitcher, Cliff Pattern
Vintage if not antique Senator England Semi-Porcelain flow blue pitcher in the Cliff pattern features blue floral design at top and remnants of gold-tone accents along rim and handle. Measures 8-1/4" tall at tallest point x approx. 6" wide at body. 7" long at top from handle end to end of spout x 4-1/2" wide. Marked on bottom with a blue crown logo and"Senator Crown Semi-Porcelain" with a ribbon and words that have mostly rubbed out but begin with a"C" which we believe originally indicated the Cliff pattern. And"England" Raised portion on bottom has numbers that are difficult to make out but that we read as"No. 24819" This is a used piece and has several flaws. Approximately 1" long hairline crack on lip of pitcher that is visible on both inside and outside. 4" scuff mark ... moreon one of the ribs on the body beginning at base and going up to middle of piece that we originally thought was a hairline crack. But is smooth to the touch and does not show through on inside. Significant. Heavy visible crazing on entire surface of piece inside and out. Significant discoloration and browning of piece inside and out. Multiple visible scuff marks and scratches throughout the piece. Inside and out. Visible wear to gold tone along rim and handle. With only remnants of the gold tone remaining. Visible scuffing. Wear, several small flea bites and roughness to bottom side bottom rim. The lettering on the base is very faint. If anyone recognizes this mark, I would love a shout out! This pitcher is in very good shape with some flakes along the base only. It has no cracks or chips otherwise. Please look the pitcures over carefully as they are a large part of my description. Please remember ... moreto scroll down to the end of the listing. History of Flow Blue: Flow Blue pottery and china is one of the most popular. Collectible ceramics in the United States antique market. More than 1500 Flow Blue patterns were produced in Victorian England, Germany, Holland, and the United States. The peak production was from the mid-eighteen hundreds ... moreto the early 1940's. Now it is again popular, but as a collectors' item rather than dinnerware. During the eighteenth century, English potters tried to copy Chinese porcelain, which was immensely popular with the upperclass British. They developed salt-glaze earthenware, which was whiter than other pottery, and which therefore looked more like porcelain.Around 1775, a new technique for decorating pottery called transfer printing was developed in Battersea and by Sadler& Green at Liverpool. In this process, a metal plate, most often copper, was deeply engraved with the desired design. Then paint was rubbed onto the warmed plate and excess paint was cut off with a palette knife. After being cleaned with a cloth called a boss, a piece of tissue-paper was dampened and pressed onto the plate. Next, the paper was lifted from the plate and set carefully onto the plate or other piece of pottery. After the design was rubbed in, the dish was placed in water where the tissue paper floated off, leaving the design. The piece was first heated slightly to dry the paint, then dipped in glaze. The design disappeared then, to reappear after firing. The English potters were all copying

ANTIQUE F. Winkel & Co. C.1893 FLOW BLUE DART Pitcher Bowl Set Flo Jug Basin
Antique F. WINKLE& CO"DART" PITCHER AND WASH BASIN Today I have decided to sell an absolutely lovely F. Winkle& Co circa 1893 Flow Blue Pitcher and Bowl set decorated in the Dart Pattern. This set offers a super rare deep dark blue Flow Blue Antique striking with its gold gilding. The pitcher measures approximately 12 1/4" in height with a slightly lobed body. Having four slight creases or indents giving an overall melon shape with molded four molded fans extending downward from the neck. The body of the jug is decorated with the most vivid deep dark blue flown transfer decoration featuring large groupings of azalea type flowers that alternate with panels of scrolls and vines. A jewel pattern drops down from the rim. The basin measures a bit over 15 1/2" in diameter. The exterior of the bowl is also slightly lobed(the ... moreinterior is not) And the fan shapes drop down from the rim and rise up from the base rim. The flow blue azalea pattern on the exterior of the pitcher is repeated on the interior of the bowl. The jewel pattern on the exterior of the bowl matches the neck of the pitcher. Both pitcher and bowl have gilded rims and sponging that is in pretty good shape. Both are also marked in blue under glaze: DART Rd No 219409 F.W. Co ENGLAND. Each also has a raised in-mold rectangle. Within the rectangle. Rd 187591" is impressed, although in the case of the pitcher, the impression is illegible. Condition: Both pieces have been carefully inspected and critically scrutinized for damage. Both have been black-light tested for repairs. No chips. Cracks, or repairs are present. The pitcher has fine crazing inside and out. Of note is a specific circular line on the exterior base of the pitcher near the back stamp that has been examined closely. There is loss to the gold gilding. There are also several spots or flaws on the bottom of the pitcher that look like they were a part of the firing process as they seem embedded in the glaze. They do not distract from the beauty of this set. Just need

VICTORIAN DOULTON BURSLEM FLOW BLUE ENGLISH WASH BASIN SET: PITCHER CHAMBER POTS
This flow blue six piece ironstone wash basin set in the Florida pattern was made by Doulton Burslem in England. The back stamp indicates it dates to 1891-1902. The set includes a very large pitcher and basin. Two chamber pots, a tall mug, and a section of a soap dish. The photos are arranged to show the items in that order. The set is in various conditions. The large basin has been beautifully restored after being broken in a number of places. Observe in photo#4 a yellowing color which shows where repairs were made in the early 70’s; the surface, however, remains smooth and shows no cracks. One of the chamber pots has three chips out of the top rim, the other a small one. All the other items show their age but do not have any cracks or chips. 2p5ddv.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2B26rk%3E2p5ddv-1458d644aeb-0x112-

ANTIQUE Royal Doulton C1891-1902 FLOW BLUE IRIS Pitcher Bowl Set Flo Jug Basin *
Absolutely gorgeous.I mean gorgeous. Breathtakingly beautiful.did I mention GORGEOUS Victorian Floral Antique Royal Flow Blue Wash Bowl and Pitcher Set in IRIS pattern Circa 1891-1902 Amazing Set for its age. Finish is full of shine. The Blue is Deep and flowing. Love this set. Displays so beautifully. This set. It appears to be a iris floral decoration. Set is highlighted with intricate gold gilding in the most breathtaking design on both the pitcher and the bowl. Very minimal gold loss through the ages. A few minimal scratches on the bottom of the bowl from pitcher. No discolorations that I could see, may be one or two tiny flea bites. No chips, repairs or cracks. Very little crazing(if any) I mean this set is amazing. Royal Doulton made in England. I love this set. It displays so well. Here is what the Antique Road Show apprassier wrote ... moreregarding a similar set to mine. APPRAISER: As you may know. Pitcher and bowl sets were an essential part of every home all through the 19th century until we started getting indoor plumbing. Most bedrooms in most homes would have a pitcher and bowl set so people could wash up. It would sit on the nightstand or on a washstand and they used it every day. Tell me how you got hold of this washbowl. APPRAISER: If we take out the pitcher and set it aside. We can turn up the bowl so that we can get a closer look at the design. This has a really elaborate cobalt blue under glaze design of iris. On top of that is a really elaborate gold work. The gold is actually raised up, which is a more expensive process than flat gold. On the bottom, we can turn it over and take a look at the mark. It is made by the Royal Doulton Company. This is before it was Royal. This mark was used from about 1891 to about 1902. Pitcher-and-bowl sets are not a very popular collectible. If you had collected 20 pitcher-and-bowl sets, where would you put them? They take up so much space. And most pitcher-and-bowl sets are very utilitarian-looking. They were not expensive because people used them all the time

Magnificent W.H. Grindley Syrian 11½” Flow Blue Pitcher
W.H. Grindley was one of England’s 19 th century flow blue masters. Of special note is Grindley’s flow blue Syrian design. A very sought-after pattern by collectors. Syrian is considered one of the ten most desirable patterns of the flow blue floral category. Which is led by another of Grindley’s patterns. Argyle, and includes Alcock’s Touraine and Meakin’s Kelvin. On offer is this very large. Late 1800s W.H. Grindley Syrian water pitcher, which features a beautiful integrated base expanding upwards to wonderful curved and embossed scrolls, a scalloped rim, and a beautifully applied handle. Please read the following descriptive passages closely. Examine the photos carefully, and do not hesitate to ask questions or to request more detailed photos. Marks: On the bottom appears the W.H. Grindley& Co. England Syrian trademark topped by the ... morenumber‘10’ in cobalt blue. Below the Syrian icon. An‘Rd No’ Registration Number) space has been left blank. The handwritten number‘72’ has been incised into the raw base before firing and white glazing. Date: This pitcher appears to have been produced slightly before 1900. Somewhat confirmed by the pattern registration issued in 1897. Condition: I find no flaws– no chips. Cracks, hairlines, stains, scuffs, detectable crazing, or any other condition issues. This example appears to be as perfect as can be. Despite its 115 or so years of life. Viewing the item very critically. One would not believe the pitcher had ever been used. Dimensions and weight: The pitcher measures approximately 10 ½“ from handle to spout. About 8” from side to side, and just shy of 11 ½“ tall. The weight is a shade over 3 lbs 10 oz. Please note that the shipping cost includes insurance to the amount of the purchase. This is an impor
