The pitcher is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks at all. There is no stamp on the pitcher, but the bowl has a printed backstamp that reads Ironstone, and England. I am unsure of the age of the set. They have a beautiful transfer pattern of violets tied with a pretty bow. There is a good amount of crazing in the glaze of the bowl. The bowl is about 4.5” tall, 3.75” deep, 15” in diameter at the top rim, and 7” in diameter at the base ring. The pitcher is 10.5” tall at the spout, 11.5” tall at the handle, about 9.5” deep, 9” in diameter at most, 5.

In very good antique/vintage condition( not sure of the year, ELP made dinnerware for railroad dining cars) This stands approx 6 1/2" at the highest point, 7" spout to handle. Back stamp on bottom also shows wear and might scrub or bleach out, found one tiny hard to find hairline on the inside rim and some rust marks on the handle. Inside is very clean. Rare Antique Vintage Lewis H Meakin Ironstone China Pitcher
In about 1853. At age 28, Lewis Henry Meakin left a successful plumbing business to embark upon a china manufacturing business venture with John Farrall. The pottery and china industry was very competitive and their business on Cannon Street, Shelton, Stoke-upon-Trent, England, was short lived. They declared bankruptcy and closed their doors on August 3, 1855. It is not known how many pieces of china Lewis H. Meakin and John Farrall produced. But surviving pieces are extremely rare. Soon after the china business failure Lewis Henry Meakin moved his family to America, and lived out his remaining years in Ohio. His son, also Lewis Henry Meakin, born in 1850, was a fairly well-known US landscape painter. John Farrall went on to work at another china manufacturer in Stoke-upon-Trent, England. Lewis H Meakin Ironstone China is extremely rare. ... moreAnd to find a piece in good condition is rare indeed. This pitcher is one of the very few remaining pieces produced by Lewis H Meakin at the Ironstone China Company between 1853 and 1855, in Stoke-upon-Trent, England. The pitcher is approximately 9 inches tall. And 8 inches from the end of the spout to the end of the handle. The pitcher is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. The glaze is crazed on both the inside and the outside of the pitcher, which would be normal for a ceramic pitcher approaching 160 years old. A close up of the crazing is shown in the photo of the bottom of the pitcher. The pitcher is slightly stained on both the inside and the outside. The inside is more heavily stained, but not quite as dark as it appears in the photo of the inside. The best illustration of the true color of the pitcher is represented in the first picture. From the lack of wear on the base and the staining it would be easy to assume that this pitcher has spent most of its life on a shelf with dust laying on the inside for a long period of time.

This is a beautiful ironstone white pitcher made by H. Burgess. Research says that it was produced in Burslem. England toward the end of the 1800's. It has a knotted rope design on the handle and down the sides. It is 9 1/2 in. tall and about 9 in. wide including the handle. There are no cracks in this pitcher. A bit of the glaze has come off the very end of the spout which I have shown in the picture. It is in great condition. All items come from a smoke free home. Up for auction is a vintage antique English made stone china J. W. Pankhurst& Co. white ironstone pitcher and bowl set recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. They were in use before sinks and indoor plumbing was common. People would do daily washing in such pieces. This set is found in good used condition. The only real condition issue to discuss is a small hairline near the base of the pitcher, best seen in photo#6. There are three marks on the edge of the bowl, where it was set in a kiln, often found on such pieces. An example of this mark is best seen in photo#7. Both pitcher and bowl are marked. This set has a nice, but subtle decorated handle. Please see photo#11 for details. The pitcher is the huge size in white ironstone and is embossed with detail. It is in great condition for it's age. There are no chips or cracks present, just some crazing that is to be expected. The bottom of this is marked with the green crown hallmark. The wash bowl is white ironstone pottery with lovely roses on the interior. The color of the roses is a green with a bluish tint. The bottom carries the Homer Laughlin hallmark. There are no chips or crack to the bowl either just some crazing and a few age spots. Handmade Pottery Jug Pitcher Large Vintage/antique Ironstone Style
In the ironstone style an old piece of handmade pottery this pitcher is large and could be used for flowers. It has a charming country look. The size is 8" tall and 8" wide when you include the handle. Without the handle it is 6" wide. The base is 5" in diameter I have had this over 20 years and I am downsizing. Perfect as a decor piece for a mantle. Kitchen, or any place in your home no makers mark. It has a light gray glaze but seems to be a reddish clay.

Lg. antique/vintage signed ironstone pitcher & bowl in brown/white spatterware-G
For your consideration: A large pitcher& bowl set. Ironstone In a brown/ white spatter pattern. This set is signed on the bottom of both pieces, by a maker I don't recognize. I have included photo's of the mark, but they may not be positioned correctly; i.e. they may be upside down. If you would like additional photo's, or from a different angle, just e-mail us. This set is in great condition. We have had it for about 15 years, as we collected pitcher& bowl sets; we are now preparing to downsize to a smaller home/ condo, are selling a lot of our" stuff" My husband bought this set in an antique shop as a gift for me, the dealer told him the name of the maker, but he could not remember it when he gave it to me, the shop was in New Hampshire, we are in MA. so we were not able to find out more, although we originally ... moreplanned to at some point, but never did. The dealer also told him that it was a late 1800's piece, but we have no way of verifying that. We aren't experts at all, but do believe it to be an older set( early 1900's) We also loved the spatter coloring, usually seen on tin ware. The measurements for the bowl/basin are 12.75" diameter. the depth is approx. 5" The base( on the bottom of the bowl) is 5" diameter. The pitcher measure 11.5" tall from the highest point. It measures 7.5" from handle top to edge of ice lip in width, the base( the flat surface) is 5.5" There is a flaw that I did not know it had until I started the listing. at the top of the pitcher is an area shaped something like a triangle that has what looks like a hairline crack, as I said, this surprised me since I did not know it was there) in any case as I examined it further I could feel, then see that it extended to the outside of the pitcher as well. I believe it was broken& repaired, not just a hairline like I thought at first. Also there is a small" chip" or" ding" near the top of the pitcher opposite the area described above. There is another

Maybe late 1800's to early 1900's( my guess) I'm no expert but do collect items of this era. no chips.Cracks or crazing. some discoloration, browning. interior is browned.
