There would have been a large bowl to hold the water for the washing of the face and hands. There might have been a soap dish. It was made by the Maddocks Lamberton Works out of Trenton. New Jersey. It was called Royal Porcelain. Based on the back stamp on the base. The Pitcher possibly would have been made between 1892 and 1924. Based on the nature of its usage, it was mostly on the earlier side. This pitcher is huge. At least as pitchers go. The approximate circumference of the body is 25 inches. Its tallest point is 11 inches at the spout. It weighs in at over 4 pounds. It is embellished with grey blue and white detailing. My guess is of a charming Dutch village and sailing vessels. Certainly it has slightly faded with time and use. But there are no surface type chips on the base. There is normal wear to the base. I have not cleaned the pitcher and it is dirty inside, but I have left that for

EXQUISITE c1840-1860 GOTHIC ENGLISH SALT GLAZED PORCELAIN PITCHER/EWER Presented is a very fine English salt glazed porcelain pitcher. This piece dates to circa 1840-1860. The pitcher is very ornate and very Gothic in style. The exterior features figures of saints or clerics standing in arched alcoves. The top of the handle has two faces of stately bearded men. One facing in either direction. The whole piece is very reminiscent of a cathedral, and may even be modeled on the design a specific cathedral. The overall effect is as though a cathedral had been wrapped around the exterior of the pitcher. The interior of the piece is done in a high glaze, and is completely clean and useable. This piece is in near perfect condition. As one of the photos shows. There is a slight discoloration on one of the faces on the handle. This is not to be considered ... morea flaw, as this is original to the manufacture of the piece, a result of slight impurities reacting when fired in a kiln. After military service. He rented a porcelain decorating workshop in the Faubourg Montjovis(Limoges) in 1836, doing export. About 1872 Guerin took over the porcelain workshop of Lebron& Cie. Then in 1877 he bought the porcelain factory that had been established by Jouhanneaud and Dubois in Rue du Petit-Tour(Limoges) And which had been bought in 1867 by the Utzschneider Company of Saurregemines and run by Leopold Dubois. This enlarged company produced a wide range of wares, selling a lot of whiteware and also continuing decoration. Guerin's sons William and Andre joined the company in 1903. In 1911 W. Guerin& Cie merged with the nearby Pouyat factory. Buying 3/4 of Pouyat; the new firm became Guerin& Cie. Possibly both company marks were continued. WWI greatly decreased output. Vintage, Dragon handle Porcelain Glazed Ewer Pitcher
Hand painted under glaze a floral design with two butterflies. In deep blue, dusty rose, light green. The dragon or Griffon is walnut brown with yellow ochre coloring. This ewer is marked with an incised number of 817 with 28 under it. And in black a# 1622? the 16,the third# I think is 2(see pictures} something illegible below that that is like a couple letters and a gold curved line(see pic 9) This is in good c ondition no cracks or crazing there are a few chips around th e spout and the cold tri m is worn off around spout. It is almost 8" tall& 6" across bottom the base tapper s to 4 1/8" If you have any question please ask. Please look carefully at all photos and ask questions before you bid. This is a n antique porcelain dragon handled hand painted pitcher ewer made in Austria. The pitcher stands 8" tall and has no flakes or repairs. The tip of the Dragons tail is broke off and I still have the piece as shown. The pitcher does have a hairline on the bottom edge as shown. On the bottom are the numbers. 23 47V" I am unclear of the last three. I acquired this form an estate in Wisconsin. A nice item for a collection. I do combine items to save on shipping costs. This auction is for a Superb Antique Porcelain Flow Blue Pitcher or Ewer made by Adderley of England circa 1912. It is Beautifully decorated with Flow Blue images of a Windmill lake scene on each side and hand applied sponge gilt accents and gold trim work. The piece is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The piece has fine. Even crazing throughout, which is expected from porcelain of this era and adds character and authenticity. It has age-appropriate wear of the gold trim, mostly on the handle. Some might consider the piece a pitcher; others a ewer. Either way it is Lovely and Rare. I haven't been able to find another like it from Adderley with the Windmill design anywhere online. It measures 10 1/2 inches tall and is about 7 inches at its widest point. Type a title for your page here) Beautiful and elegant! This can only describe this Richard Klemm Dresden. Germany Porcelain floral pitcher/ewer, circa 1900. Up for bidding is a Pitcher/Ewer that measures approximately 14 inches from the top of the handle to the bottom and is approximately 8 inches wide. It is white and a creamy yellow with multicolor floral. Vines, and butterfly decorations. There is a dimensional grouping on the front of three porcelain flowers, one edged in blue, one in pink, and one in lavender. Also, there are two pink buds and leaves. The pitcher has stunning gold highlights and detail throughout, as well as along the rim, handle and bottom. The marking on the bottom is in gold- it is a crown with"RK" underneath and Dresden Germany- please refer to the photograph. There are a few condition issues which I have ... moretried to document in the photographs. All are on the grouping of flowers on the front of the pitcher. There are a couple of chips on the blue flower. A two small chips on the pink flower, and a piece of a leaf missing. There are no cracks, crazing or visable signs of wear. Information on Richard Klemm: He founded a porcelain decorating studio in Striesen. Germany in 1869. The decorating style of Richard Klemm closely matched that of the Meissen factories at that time. He often used a heavily applied style that focused on florals. In many instances, the porcelain pieces of Richard Klemm are emblazoned with a gold leaf at the base. I have tried to put the pieces together to show how it can be repaired. The fit will be much better once it is glued as the pieces do fit perfectly but it was difficult to assemble for photos. This is gorgeous! Very old. Very tall, very ornate design pitcher with beautiful fruit design on both sides. Stands 13 1/2 inches tall at tip of lip. This is hand numbered in gold 8069 on bottom but I am unsure of origin. This does have crazing on inside and on bottom, has small nick on lip edge and has light hairline at very top seen from inside- otherwise in great condition- damage is very minor for age- still displays just beautiful or very useful if desired. Here we have a beautiful Antique Royal Vienna Ewer Vase. This is a portrait Vase that is signed on the side of the portrait by the artist T. Muller. The vase is hand painted and has a wonderful Burgandy luster with heavy gold trim. Marked on the bottom with the underglaze blue beehive mark. The vase measures 7 1/4" tall by 3 3/4" across. There is a crack to one side of the spout at the top. It has to be looked to be seen on the top. Underneath it is easier to see the crack. A good restoration could fix it invisibly. The rest of the vase is pristine and have not chips. Cracks nor restorations. The paint has very little wear. Please check out our 12 pictures for more visual condition discription. Up for auction or"Buy It Now" is a Marked and Signed"Roy" Weissman Company, Incorporated of East Palestine, Ohio and New York City, New York(Circa 1941 to Closed in 1957) Weisley China(WC) Brand, American Art Pottery, Hand Painted-Handcrafted, American Painted Porcelain" Small Porcelain Artware Ewer Pitcher which can best be Attributed as Being Manufactured and Decorated by the Dwight Morris China Company also of East Palestine, Ohio(1939 to 1982) in"Excellent" Used Condition and Made Between Circa 1941 to 1957. This little ewer has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind. It's only post factory issue is that some gold trim has worn away and picture 12 is a close up of the most worn area. This isn't uncommon to see when gold trim is applied either. It can be fired ... moreon or underglaze and it usually is when it's part of the main pattern, but many times it's a final production step and it's applied cold. It has real gold in it and ceramic decorators use 22, 23 or 24 karat gold. It's always been an acceptable practice of cold painting the gold trim as a last step so it shouldn't be considered poor quality work by potteries and decorating firms. Immersed washing and dusting with a heavy hand are two main ways wear happens and most consumers aren't aware that the gold trim areas need some special care. This piece is about 6 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/8 inches at the most bulbous point near the bottom. The next biggest measurement is the from the outward pour lip across to the handle at about 2 3/4 inches and the top opening is an oval of about 5/8 inches by 3/4 inches across. Being true porcelain means this piece will be strong. But light weighing about 5 ounces. There's a beautiful hand painted floral pattern which I'm fairly sure is representative of the pansy flower. This pitcher is 6 1/4 inches high at the top of the handle. It is a"pelican jug" shape. The decoration is blue on a cream color body. But the handle is dark green with some traces of gold. It is in great condition. In the last picture I tried to show one area where the glaze is bumpy, but I believe it was in the making, not damage as it is smooth. There is no mark of a maker.

Body of pitcher curves outward towards the spout. Raised relief swirls under the spout. Unknown(to me) age. Maker or origin. It is signed on bottom, unfortunately I havn't been able to identify it. Looks to read"LR" but I'm not sure. Stands approximately 9 1/4" high. Base is 3 1/2-3 3/4" Unpackaged weight is 1 pound. Good condition with no cracks. Has 1 small chip on the bottom rim. As shown. The Ewer/Pitcher is so gorgeous. It has embossed designs on the mold and Neptune's head by the snout trimmed in gold. The floral is I think a Blue Cherry Blossom and it is handpainted(I have close-ups of the floral on both side, please take a look see) The Pitcher measures 9.5" by 8.5" by 11.75" ... morehigh(measuring at the widest portion of the ewer) It is unmarked. Antique Vintage Henry Alcock & Co White Parisian Porcelain Pitcher Ewer
Offered for sale is a small white pitcher by Henry Alcock& Co. I beleive it's called a milk pitcher. It is simply elegant and would look beautiful with a bouquet of flowers. It measures about 7” inches tall and about 6 1/4” across from spout to handle. The maker's mark on the bottom reads: Parisian Porcelain Henry Alcock& Co. England. This dates the piece between 1861 and 1910. The piece shows normal wear for one its age. There is a tiny chip(~1/8" on the spout and some tiny glaze pops. Please view all of the photos. Henry Alcock& Co. started in 1861. They produced earthenware including white graniteware using the names Ironstone China and Parisian Porcelain for the American market. GORGEOUS GERMAN MOLD BLOWN OUT TALL EWER WITH RAISED GRAPE AND VINE DECORATION This is a spectacular blown out mold ceramic tall ewer or pitcher with a shaded deep salmon color ground and raised grapes on the vine decoration with a twig handle. The ewer is 12" tall and measures about 7-1/2" from handle to spout. The decoration is truly quite extraordinary on this beautiful piece. It is marked only Made in Germany. Which allows us to date it to after the 1891 McKinley Tariff Act was revised to require imports to be stamped Made In with the country of origin name. The ewer has no damage.
