This is a vintage china chamber basin and jug in a lovely flow blue design. Then trimmed in gold. Pink flower decorate both sides of the pitcher. The bowl is especially lovely with its raised design and gentle shading. It is hallmarked"RS Prussia" on the bottom of the pitcher, there is no hallmark on the bowl. Both the large bowl and the pitcher are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Just a small bit of crazing. The pitcher measures about 11" high. The bowl is 16" in diameter x 4-1/2" high. This is a antique wash basin and bowl. It has been in my family for the past twenty years. All I know about it is that my mother bought it at an farm auction in Michigan in 1992. There are no markings on it so I don't know if it is a reproduction or not. It is beautiful and brightened our living room for years. My mother would put roses in it. I have priced it as a reproduction. It has a cracked pitcher handle(see photos) and was glued back together. This is a vintage Renate ceramic wash bowl/basin& pitcher set. It has very ornate mold details& both have lots of roses. This is a large heavy set. Especially the bowl. It is in excellent condition, no cracks or crazing, but there is a small chip on the underside rim of the bowl(see last photo) I had this on a washstand where it sat in a recessed hole& you couldn't see this at all, even standing alone you cannot see this.The bowl is 15 3/8" wide& 4 1/2" tall. Antique BROWNFIELD & SONS 4 PC Set Wash Basin Pitcher & Bowl with soap dish
Very rare Brownfield& Sons wash basin set. Bowl is approximately 5" tall and 15-1/2" diameter. The pitcher is 13-1/4" tall. I believe the other piece is a soap dish but I haven't seen one like it before. The top has 21 holes in it so the water can drain into the bowl underneath. This small dish is 2-1/4" tall and 5-3/4" diameter(This is the measurement with the lid on) Each piece has a very beautiful floral design. The only piece not stamped with the Brownfield& Sons hallmark is the lid to the small dish but it is obviously original to the set. No chips or cracks which is very rare for a set this old. The pitcher has embossed designs in the middle part and by the top. See images. It has a muted bouquet of flowers that I cannot determine. The pitcher also has some crazing but no cracks that I can see. There's also a muted bouquet inside the snout. The basin looks like it was used and there are some water marks inside the ... morebasin. It is also embossed on top and it is not marked. The floral design cloub be cherry blossom. I cannot determine if the florals on both pieces are decals of handpainted since they are both muted. The basin also has cracks inside, by the lip and outside(I found 2) but its not a cvrack the goes through the ceramic. The basin is a very thick ceramic almost like an Ironstone piece. It measures 17" in diameter and about 5.25" high. The Pitcher measures 11.875" High, 10" by 8.5" NOTE: If you purchase this item. The bowl is made by Maddocks, Lamberton. MEASUREMENTS: The bowl is 4.5" high and 16.5" diameter. The pitcher is 13.5" high and about 9" wide at the handle. CONDITION:The pitcher is in near perfect condition. There are two tiny openings top of the pitcher. In the spout(picture) not a chip, but an opening(like chapped lips) from the time of manufacture. The bowl has a raised piece of pottery along the top edge. Again this is from the time of manufacture. Antique Wash Basin & Pitcher Ironstone Ironware Set Bowl Marked Flo Blue
This antique. Authentic wash basin and pitcher are made of ironstone, probably in the 1800's. The impressed makers mark is on the basin only. Two animals facing each other in between a shield. It could be a dragon or a lion facing a bird. It's hard to tell. Underneath it says Flo Blue 1850. The pitcher only has 1850. I realize this does not look like anything the term is used with today. I have not been able to find any information on this mark. My great aunt was a huge antique collector and this set came from her. She passed in 1968. The basin or bowl is 5" tall and 15 3/4" across. Both pieces have been glazed completely. The colors are cream and shades of brown mostly. With a reddish undertone in the center of the pitcher. The pitcher handle is 12" high and the body is 8" wide. It has a beautiful shape and the ... morepattern really accents the shape. Some photos are with a flash. It has been sitting in a garage apartment for almost 50 years untouched. I repaired a chip on the base of the pitcher. There are a few spots where the color is gone. Just flea bites and one place on the upper edge of the bowl. The bottom rims both show some signs of wear. The Flo Blue mark is something I personally have not seen. I believe this piece was made in England. I also believe the term flow blue has been used to describe a look and now is known as a process. To me. This set is evidence of a company or a manufacturer of that name. Some always cry forgery if they aren't familiar, but I don't believe a forger wouldn't use Flo Blue on a brown piece. It feels like this could be a piece of history that we have lost. If anyone knows anything about the mark and the Flo Blue name. I would love to know! Large Antique Wash Pitcher& Basin Bowl Set England 1860’s Floral& Gold Gilt See more/larger photos below DESCRIPTION: This gorgeous antique 1860’s wash basin and matching pitcher are embellished with white. Pink and burgundy flowers(poppies? on a lime green background and accented in gold gilt. It was purchased from an antique dealer in California in 1980 for $215. There are no cracks that I can see but there is crazing throughout both pieces. Both pieces have two dots of pink nail polish on the bottoms which owner used to identify pieces. Bowl Condition: Crazing throughout. The bowl has about 4 areas around the edges that look worn and/or have a bit of ceramic missing. There are several small black spots on inside of bowl. Antique T. Furnival& Sons Pitcher Description: Gallon size pitcher holds 1.6 gallons of water. 200 ounces. 25 cups of liquid) Both pieces are from British potter located in Staffordshire. T. Furnival& Sons. 1851-1890) Pitcher is stamped with pottery mark and also has hand painted numbers on the base. Decor pattern with lustre is called MESSINA. Pitcher has moulded Acanthus leaves on the handle. Transferware print is a stylized"Italian Renaissance" decor pattern. Lustre finish is done in a golden colour with nice iridescent hues. Up for offer is a very pretty vintage large porcelain pitcher and bowl set in excellent vintage condition! No cracks. Chips, breaks, damage or repairs. This set is unmarked and maker is unknown. The design is blue roses with green foliage and wheat sprigs against off white- very cottage chic! I am unsure of the design is hand painted or transfer ware- it is stunning none the less. The pieces are finished in a glossy glaze and there is some decorative relief work to the porcelain. English Art Nouveau Doulton Burslem KELMSCOT Wash Basin Bowl and Pitcher Set Description c.1901 Doulton Burslem wash basin and pitcher in the elegant English Art Nouveau Kelmscot pattern. Off white background with dark green decor. SIZE: Measurements are approximate. Basin: 14 1/2" in diameter. 4 5/8" tall. Pitcher: 10 1/2" to top of handle, 10" total width. RARE Revere China Antique Vintage Wash Bowl Basin Pitcher Set Vintage- from the early 1900s Made by Akron China Co. Akron Ohio. Akron China was in business from 1894 to 1908. This is one on the few surviving sets. Ceramic wash basin and pitcher with lavender and pink flower design. Pitcher measures 12" high and 9-1/2" wide at widest point. Basin is 15-1/2" diameter and 4-1/2" deep. Pitcher has a small scuff on the side. Bowl has small spider crack on its underside. Some of the gold trim on the bowl rim is worn. But all wear is totally appropriate for the age of the set. See pictures for further clarification. EXCELLENT overall condition considering the set is over 100 years old! Beautiful antique white porcelain pitcher and wash bowl/basin set - 14" diameter
Here's an old white porcelain pitcher and wash bowl/basin set with no maker's mark that I can find. The basin has a 14-inch diameter. And the pitcher stands about 10 1/2 inches high. Both pieces have fine(quite beautiful, really) crazing, but they're in good shape for their vintage, otherwise showing only minor wear. I don't know exactly how old it is, but I remember it from the 1960s at my grandmother's house, and it was already an antique then!
