The bowl has been repaired, and the cracks are visible, however, the break and repair ... moreis in one area at the top rim, and could be placed at the back so that it is not visible. The pitcher is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks at all. There is no stamp on the pitcher, but the bowl has a printed backstamp that reads Ironstone, and England. I am unsure of the age of the set. They have a beautiful transfer pattern of violets tied with a pretty bow. There is a good amount of crazing in the glaze of the bowl. The bowl is about 4.5” tall, 3.75” deep, 15” in diameter at the top rim, and 7” in diameter at the base ring. The pitcher is 10.5” tall at the spout, 11.5” tall at the handle, about 9.5” deep, 9” in diameter at most, 5.

Rare Antique Vintage Lewis H Meakin Ironstone China Pitcher
In about 1853. At age 28, Lewis Henry Meakin left a successful plumbing business to embark upon a china manufacturing business venture with John Farrall. The pottery and china industry was very competitive and their business on Cannon Street, Shelton, Stoke-upon-Trent, England, was short lived. They declared bankruptcy and closed their doors on August 3, 1855. It is not known how many pieces of china Lewis H. Meakin and John Farrall produced. But surviving pieces are extremely rare. Soon after the china business failure Lewis Henry Meakin moved his family to America, and lived out his remaining years in Ohio. His son, also Lewis Henry Meakin, born in 1850, was a fairly well-known US landscape painter. John Farrall went on to work at another china manufacturer in Stoke-upon-Trent, England. Lewis H Meakin Ironstone China is extremely rare. ... moreAnd to find a piece in good condition is rare indeed. This pitcher is one of the very few remaining pieces produced by Lewis H Meakin at the Ironstone China Company between 1853 and 1855, in Stoke-upon-Trent, England. The pitcher is approximately 9 inches tall. And 8 inches from the end of the spout to the end of the handle. The pitcher is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. The glaze is crazed on both the inside and the outside of the pitcher, which would be normal for a ceramic pitcher approaching 160 years old. A close up of the crazing is shown in the photo of the bottom of the pitcher. The pitcher is slightly stained on both the inside and the outside. The inside is more heavily stained, but not quite as dark as it appears in the photo of the inside. The best illustration of the true color of the pitcher is represented in the first picture. From the lack of wear on the base and the staining it would be easy to assume that this pitcher has spent most of its life on a shelf with dust laying on the inside for a long period of time.

I can remember my Grandmother having it set on a washstand. It is a very large and heavy Ironstone set. It is old and has been used, passed down and it does have flaws, and wear. It has 1 fairly large chip on the edge of the bowl. It has several small flake size chips on the top edge of bowl. It has small flake chips on the edge of pitcher. Beautiful pitcher about 50-100 years old-has wonderful detail around the top and on the handle. The body is smooth with floral and fern pattern coming from the top of handle. There is a berry pattern under the spout. The pitcher is 12 inches tall and about 7 inches in diameter on the bottom. Bottom has a very intricate logo design with the words Mellor& Co. The pitcher is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. There is one crazing but nothing that would prevent from using it as it was designed.

Made in England-1900's The pitcher is Signed Stamped on the base, A banner ribbon with the name Barrington Ironstone Made in England* Condition The pitcher is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, repairs or stains. It does have a crackle finish throughout because of it's age. History White Ironstone is named for it's extremely high salt content. Potter Charles James Mason of Staffordshire. England patented the process in the 1900's- 1914 the patent ended and at that time many other Potters continued using the process for their fine pieces. Wood & Sons Ltd. Ironstone Water Pitcher 12 1/2 inch Gold Trim True Vintage
I am offering for sale this very beautiful Wood& Sons. Ltd. England, Ironstone Ware, TALL Pitcher. This Pitcher measures a nice 12 1/2 inches tall! The circumference of the center is 26 inches around and it weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces. This Pitcher has a sweet embossed Fleur de lis pattern just under the top of the handle on each side and there is a Gold Pansy flower in the center of the Pitcher on each side. The gold trim on this is in good condition with the exception of the top of the handle on the sides. It is a bit worn off. There are no chips or cracks on this piece but there is crazing. All in all this is a beautiful vintage piece that would look nice with most decor or holding a large bunch of flowers. I am a good packer and shipper so I will use the utmost care. I will be shipping economy but if you prefer Priority for less time ... morein transition, please let me know and we can work out the cost. Attractive ironstone pitcher and bowl set in pink and cream with lovely florals on pitcher. This a large set. With the bowl measuring 15-3/4" and 6-1/2" deep. The pitcher measures 11" from spout to base, and 12-1/4" from handle top to base, pitcher opening is 4-1/2" wide, and 6-1/4" long.The diameter of the pitcher base is 9-1/4" and the flat part of the base is 4-1/2" The pitcher circumference at the widest section is 26-3/4"The bowl rim is pink; the inside and outside of the bowl is a nice cream color. The bowl has a slightly raised relief design That is very nice. The pitcher color varies between pink and cream. The spout portion is pinkThe neck of the pitcher narrows, then flares below to a bulbous shape, and these areas alternate(and blend) at the edges between pink and white.
