Striking 5-Piece Sky Blue Victorian Porcelain Wash Bowl & Pitcher Set France
This auction is for a Fabulous Victorian 5-Piece Wash Bowl and Pitcher Set. The set Displays Wonderfully. It will add a burst of color and will instantly become the focal point of any room. Each piece is marked"France" on the bottom. I am not certain of the maker but by the form and feel and style the set is clearly Victorian and likely dates to the late 1800s. The set is decorated with a beautiful sky blue color against a white porcelain and gold edging. The pieces are molded with a relief leaf and scroll designs. A name of a genus of flowers. The pattern is a lovely yellow and brown floral design throughout, including the inside of the spout, against white semi-porcelain and gold accents. The pitcher has a Dunn Bennett& Co. Burslem backstamp as well as a British registration number that is stamped and an impressed registration number. Which dates the production of the piece to 1895. Small Fancy Porcelain China Victorian Pitcher that could be utilized for water. Or gravy. Very lovely and is dated on base to what looks like 69, in flow blue, along with a symbol that looks like it could be crossed swords, but there are also many more markings scratched into the clay. To me it looks as if it says Ga 152 done by hand and glazed over. There is a very small 30 stamped into the base, as well. There is a very small minor slit from when it was made, as it was glazed over on the side that shows. Was this made in 1830 or 1869? who knows, one look at it and you can see that it is extremely old. There is gold decoration on the floral pattern and around the rim, but some has worn off over time. This is a beautiful hand painted antique victorian pitcher that is signed twice and dated. This beautiful hand painted pitcher belonged to my mother who bought it at a second hand shop in Philadelphia in the 1950s when first married. It was ALWAYS on a doily in the extra bedroom of our home when I was growing up. After selling their home and downsizing. I kept the pitcher for a while, now we are downsizing and one can only keep a limited number of things. As you can see in the photos.it is in beautiful condition with NO CHIPS OR CRACKS. It is signed under the handle and underneath on the base MILLS 68, which is 1868 because my mother already owned it second hand in the 1950s. The paint and gilding are still beautiful! This was one of a handful of antique/Victorian pitchers/vases that my mother purchased and held dear all of her life. She passed last year. And I am selling some of her antiques to offset my father's medical expenses. This piece was most likely purchased in or near Savannah, GA where she was born or Jacksonville, FL where she lived when first married in the early 50s. There are no cracks. Chips, etc. but, like any similar pitcher of this age, there are areas of the gold trim on handle and base that are faded or missing. Also the top/rim shows age(see last photo) Please note that I have not cleaned nor washed it in any way. A gentle soap bath may well brighten that part of the porcelain. Unusual Mid-Victorian Porcelain Pitcher
This is a very nice and most unusual water or milk pitcher. It stands 6 1/2" tall and measures 8 1/2" from spout to handle. As shown in the pictures. The handle has an unusual"scrunched" handle and the top rim of the pitcher is sharply ruffled. The multicolored flowers decorate the front, back and under the spout. The piece has no markings of any kind but the quality of the porcelain and the styling indicate to me that the piece is of European origin. In excellent condition with no issues. TVM728

This auction is for a Lovely 6-Piece Antique Victorian Porcelain Pitcher and Washbowl Chamber Set made by F. Winkle& Co. of England in the late 1800s. The set is Beautifully decorated in a Blue Floral Transferware Pattern against a White Porcelain background. The set consists of: A Large Pitcher. 11 1/2 inches tall. A Large Wash Bowl or Basin. 14 3/4 inches across. A Small Pitcher. 6 inches tall. A Mug. 3 1/2 inches tall. A Toothbrush Holder. 4 1/2 inches tall. A 3-piece Soap Dish with a bottom. A unique drainage insert and a lid. The Set Displays Wonderfully. It was a recent estate sale purchase from an avid Chamber Set collector in Central Pennsylvania and is fresh to market. The set is in Good condition. Especially for its age. The small pitcher has a firing line separation in the upper. Inside part of the handle(photo 9) that does ... morenot go all the way through and was done in the manufacturing process. The pitcher has a very small firing line in its spout(see photo 10) The bowl has on its inside two faint hairlines(photo 11& 12) and a small faint spot of discoloration, none of which go through or can be seen from the outside. There are no chips in any of the pieces. The set has crazing as is expected from porcelain of this era and it adds character and authenticity. Each piece has the FW& Co. backstamp used by F. There are no cracks or chips to be found on it. It has some staining on the inside bottom of the pitcher. But the outside is in great condition, still having a glossy and smooth glaze finish. There is slight wear to the painted edge of the upper rim, and some very tiny specks on the outside. Other than these very minor imperfections and the to be expected scuff marks on the bottom where the porcelain has touched a hard surface, this old pitcher is still in remarkably good condition. The only makers mark on the bottom is the number 980. This attractive piece features a hand-painted floral motif as well as green accents around the top and bottom rims. This pitcher is English and dates to about the mid-1800's(during the Victorian era) There is a firing line that has become stained inside the pitcher near the handle that happened during the making of the piece- the glaze does go over this line. It's entirely hand-painted with lavender flowers and green foliage, then accented with gilt trims(also by hand) Piece is unmarked, and believed as being made in Austria or Bavaria. Pitcher stands 7-1/4" height, by about 5" width; sitting on three rounded, scrolled feet. The feet and'rope-twist' handle are rendered in thick, solid gold(gilt) color. This auction is for a nice pair of antique Victorian pieces. They are both is a pretty pink and look great together. I would say the larger one is a milk pitcher or creamer and the smaller one is an individual creamer. The larger one has a mark on the bottom that I can't make out. The larger one is 4 inches tall. Up for auction is an antique victorian cottage chic white porcelain pitcher& bowl wash set. It is clean and bright. There is a small chip at the bottom of the pitcher and there is some crazing from use on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher set. Overall. It is in very good vintage condition. The pitcher measures 10.5" tall and 25" around the widest point. The top is 9.5" from the spout to the handle. The bowl is 15.5" across the top and 4 3/4" tall. There are no marking on either peice. Limoges Porcelain Hand Painted Pitcher Roses Gold Trim Green Victorian
Up for NO RESERVE AUCTION is this fantastic Victorian era hand-painted Limoges Porcelain Pitcher. Pitcher stands a little over 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide(approximately) As you can see the pitcher or jug is decorated in beautiful colors with roses on each side and one on the interior of the spout. Has a very nice fancy handle. The green Limoges Porcelain mark is under glaze. There are initials(artists? above this mark that appear to be U.G.W. However I am not certain of the first initial, but the G& W are definite. There is mild crazing to the entire piece, not very noticeable unless examined closely. The peak of the Limoges production was during Queen Victoria's reign(1837-1901) and the Victorian Era(1850-1900) when decoration with ostentation and embellishment were commonplace. Obsessed with the rose. Victorians used Limoges ... moreblanks as a means of combining their passion for china painting with their love of the rose. This came from the estate of a US ARMY Colonel who was stationed in the Far East and Europe for much of this tenure. As well as the US and he and his wife collected extensively. RARE Victorian Hulme & Christie porcelain pitcher metal lid 1893 - 1902 England
This listing is for a rare antique Victorian pitcher with a metal lid. Made in England by Hulme& Christie, between 1893 and 1902. The backstamp on the bottom of the pitcher is of a dove, with the word Elsie above, and H&C below, with F below that. My research on this backstamp has established that this was made at the Sutherland Pottery in Fenton, England by a firm called Hulme& Christie, which was only in business between 1893 and 1902. A rare find for your Victorian collection! The pitcher is made of porcelain. And it has a silver tone or pewter colored metal lid that uses gravity to tilt open when pouring. The lid can come out for cleaning. It fits into two holes drilled in the sides of the pitcher. There is also a groove in the pottery on one side of the pitcher's mouth, to make it easy to remove and replace the lid. Victorian Porcelain Water Pitcher Royal Purple Water Lilies Gold Moriage 1890's
This Victorian Era Water Pitcher is probably an unmarked piece of Nippon Porcelain produced around 1890. It has the characteristic use of the Gold Moriage decorations and the beautifully hand painted Royal Purple Water Lilies on a green background. This Pitcher has the appearance of being used a great deal. As there is considerable loss of the gilding on the handle. Other than that, there only 1 small chip to the paint. Please see the pictures of this The gold appears a little pink in the pictures, but it is the same gold that is always seen on these types of vases. Old pitcher. No markings of any kind as to maker, may have been made in Austria or Germany. Heavy crazing, all of the flowers, gold gilt accents and green paint show a lot of wear. Handle has some teeny fleabites toward middle on right side. Extra porcelain very sharp piece on tip of handle and near bottom base on top side. A couple of tiny fleabites around both top and bottom rims. Bottom rim is dirty and isn't glazed for the most part. Usual imperfections such as dark pinpricks, extra glaze, etc. all over pitcher. I have not tried to clean inside-I'll leave that up to you-so I don't know if the light brown staining that is in places will wash off. This stands about 7" high, about 5 1/4" from end of spout to end of handle, about 4 1/4 at widest-not counting handle and base is about 3 1/2" We can only accept PAYPAL! Antique Victorian black porcelain enamelled pitcher European?
I don't know much about this pitcher. It was purchased from an estate along with a collection of mid 19th century relief molded pitchers. I don't think its quite that old, I would estimate it to be late 19th or early 20th century. It looks European, but I can't make out the impressed name on the bottom. It is in decent condition, obviously missing the original metal lid. There is significant wear to the decoration. Please judge by the photos. Thank you

It is marked K& G Luneville. There is crazing as can be expected of an older piece like this. Sadly this pitcher sustained a minor blemish can be seen in photos a very small fracture the reason I say sadly is because I accidently did this prior to listing it buy bumping it with a piece of cast iron. This is probably the prettiest Pitcher& Bowl set I have ever seen! A nice off(soft) white with a hint of Powdered Baby Blue and a thick gold trim on the rim. Bowl is in pedestal style which is unusual and makes it more charming. Pour spout. Pitcher bottom& bowl top edges are scalloped. The flower accents are delicate and refine. There seems to be a marking of maker on the bottom, but I cannot make it out. This was purchased at a really nice Estate Auction recently. So I will call it used, although it is in near perfect condition. Use the pictures also as part of description for details. Sets like this one usually go for much more, so I think this is a VERY fair price. Approx measurements are: Highest point of handle to bottom of pitcher 9" This is NOT a miniature set. Fully usable.
