Top opening is 4 3/4 inches wide. I found this very rare porcelain pitcher made in the early 20th century by Law Akron. O. I have only found a couple of things anywhere made by Law after extensive research. This is a special piece not only for its rarity but for its beauty. The pitcher is accented with gold paint(I do not know if actual gold) and stunning floral design. It stands 8 1/2" tall and about 7" at is widest. It is just such a gorgeous piece and there are probably few if any out there like it. Believed to be m ade by Union Potteries commemorating Captain Sigsbee of the Battleship Maine. The off white pitcher features some great raised detailing and light blue rose details. Early 1900's water. Milk or cream pitcher. Measures almost 6" in overall height and almost 6" fromom handle width to pitcher spout. Condition shows minor gilding loss. Minor crazing and one small chip on base(see pics) Marked on base Pope-Gosser china. Made in USA H-21 Great for country or shabby chic decorating. I used them for fresh floral arrangements for the table. I have listed several pitchers of different sizes. Makes a beautiful table with each pitcher holding a different variety of fresh flower. Last photo shows the group of pitchers that I am selling and are listed individually. We are downsizing so now is the time for someone else to enjoy. Antique Haynes Balt Porcelain Art Nouveau Iris Milk Cream Pitcher Marked 20 MB
This is a beautifully colored and styled antique milk pitcher with red irises and green leaves all the way around. The colors are bold and the pattern is in a wonderful art nouveau style. The condition is very good. But there are a couple spots of light crazing in the glaze(on the bottom surface by the markings, visible in the photos and a couple spots on the inside, none of which go through the porcelain) and there is a tiny flake on the top edge of the spout. There is also a small splash of what looks like paint or extra glaze on the side, and a few small scuffs in the glaze, all shown in the photos. It measures 8" H at the handle and 9" across the top from spout to handle. It will be packed securely and insured during shipping.
