Also, the top monkey is holding a peach leaf horizontal; in which a brush may rest on its side. The darker stone base piece is presumably affixed to the sculpture. There may be a Maker's mark. The carving has unknown etched marks on the underside base; please see photos. The condition is mostly good with minor age-related wear. There are minimal scratches/ flaking on the piece; some of which would have occured in crafting. We don't see any damage cracks. Chips, breaks or repairs. There is a patch of discoloration on the back side of the pot, which may or may not come off with a proper cleaning. The statue has not been cleaned; as found. Please see photos. This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. There are some scratches on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher sits but again consistent with age. Considering this is around 100 years old it is in very good condition. Victorian Floral Design Antique Pitcher and Wash Bowl Set Adamantine China
This a Victorian Adamantine wash bowl and pitcher from around the late 1800's to early 1900's It has gold sponge accents and polychrome flowers This antique is in excellent condition for its age There is normal fine even crazing and 2 cracks inside the bowl and 3 small chips on the sides of the pitcher(see pic) The pitcher measures 12 inches tall. The bowl is 14 1/2 inches across and is Very thick and heavy. Both pieces have the Adamantine China ribbon backstamp in Black.

Antique 2 pitcher wash bowl set - China - 6 pcs.
This is a set of 6 pieces. The large bowl measures: 15 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" tall. The blue glaze has crazing as you would expect from a piece this old. There is a crack that goes in a J shape in from the edge and has not broken off a piece. Looks like it is no danger of breaking off. The large pitcher stands 11 1/4" tall x 9" from pour spout to handle. Glaze has some crazing but a lot less than the bowl. No chips or cracks. The small pitcher stands almost 8" tall x 6 1/2" wide at spout to handle. No chips or cracks. Just some crazing like the others. The last piece is a round soap holder. There is a flat piece inside with a whole to put the soap so water drains under this piece away from the soap. It measures 5" round x 4" to the top of the small handle. There is a chip out from the side of the edge of ... morethe bowl and another tiny one also on the top edge. The piece can be turned with the chip to the back for display purposes. The lid and inside drain are intact. The drain insert has some small chips around the edge-does not detract or harm its function. Glaze: On all pieces there is a colonial blue glaze with a gold/olive green and darker blue sponged on style of color. There is an embossed leaf pattern on the side of the pitcher and soap dish. The outside of the bowl is plain other than the glaze design. There is also gold accents throughout-sponged on and around the edge of the bowl. The handle on the 2 pitchers and lid of the soap dish are a darker greenish brown and more ornate. Other uses for these pieces could be flower vases or containers. The small pitcher I have used for Sangria. The large bowl makes a great large salad bowl at a party. The small soap dish can be used as a container for anything. Minus the inside drain for the soap. There is a fine 11-1/2" tall wash pitcher, a fine 5" tall by 16" diameter wash bowl, a fine 5-1/4" tall by 9" diameter slop jar, a 1-3/4" tall by 5" diameter soap dish- with chips to side glued back, and a 2-3/4" tall by 7-1/2" diameter wash cloth bowl? with crack to side. All are nicely transfer decorated with stylized florals, gilt rimmed. All have fine crazing, any staining to the very underbellies or bottoms. The set is for one price.

Wash Stand Basin Bowl Pitcher Smith Ford Jones Parisian Stone China England
For auction from a local midwestern estate is an antique wash stand bowl and pitcher set original to the era in which these items were used. The pitcher is 11 1/4 inches tall and 9 inches wide and weighs 3 lbs. 7 1/4 ounces. The pitcher is not signed or marked. Is molded and during the firing process in the kiln acquired a few small silt bumps. The dark pinkish is still vibrant but has a spot on the rim of the pitcher where the paint has worn away as noted in the pictures. Note the remarks above re the one inch by one inch surface scratch. The pitcher is simple in design, but elegant and beautiful. The bowl to this set is marked on the bottom and signed Parisian Stone China, Smith Ford& Jones, Burslem England, has nice age crazing, and ivory white with deep pinkish to maroon color appliqués of an English garden. The rim of the bottom ... moreof the bowl has nice age wear. There is a nice raised or 3-D dental molding along the top edge of the bowl on the outside coupled with leaf raised molding around the bottom of the bowl above the rim. There is a 4 cm indent in the china along the rim which is either a kiln occurrence or actual chip. If I had to guess, I would say it happened during firing of the glaze, BUT I AM NO EXPERT in pottery and can only describe to you what I see. The bowl measures 15 inches in circumfrence from rim to rim, and 5 1/2 inches from top of the bowl to bottom of the rim making the bowl depth 5 inches. Weight of the bowl is 5 lbs. 5 1/2 ounces. This is a nice set of a wash basin and water pitcher from a nostalgic time most likely, because the wear on the set is minor, used for the guest room for visitors. This one is a dandy for collectors. The blue transferware“Mikado” pattern features Chinese lanterns decorated with animals. Birds& fish intertwined with planters of flowers& foliage. It has an accent border of rectangles. The set is marked with the“MINTONS” globe logo without the crown or“England” which were added to the mark after 1891) It is marked RN4175 which identifies the English registry number of the“Mikado” pattern which was registered in 1884. Very large and heavy wash basin from Harvard China! The purplish color is beautiful but a lot of the paint is wearing off. Also has some scratches see pics. The scalloped edges have a gold and white design. It is marked Harvard on the back. There is a very small chip on the underside rim, not noticeable. Marked Revere China with the logo for the Akron China company of Akron. Ohio. Made between 1894 and 1908. They made ironstone and transfer ware utilitarian and heavy use china and porcelain pieces for hotels, restaurants, and large dinner sets for private use, etc. This set is a very pretty ornate mold. Look at that handle and the decoration around the underside of the bowl matches the decoration around the neck of the pitcher. It has a simple floral transfer decoration. It retains at least 98% of all the gold trim on both pieces. These authentic old sets are getting hard to find in this condition and with two original MATCHING pieces. This is a very large. Antique pitcher or jug made by Onondaga Pottery Co. the same makers of Syracuse China. It is in very nice condition. There is a very faint spider crack in the glaze on the very bottom, but it does not go through to the inside. There is also some handling wear to the gold trim, but no other chips, cracks or crazing. Very clean and shiny. I believe this was the pitcher to a wash set, and probably had a matching bowl, chamber pot and other pieces. It is approx. 11 1/2in. tall. this is a beautiful wash bowl and pitcher set. mintons genevese ENGLAND. i was told this is from around 1865 but i do not know for sure. the pitcher measures approx 9" tall.The handle is large and it holds approx. four quarts of water. the bowl measures 15" across and is a little over 5" tall i have taken pictures of all markings. on the bottom of pitcher is an imperfection and on the side rim of the bowl as well. these are 3, all very minimal and i believe these are imperfections,NOT CHIPS. please look it over for yourself. i have taken many pictures. RARE Revere China Antique Vintage Wash Bowl Basin Pitcher Set Vintage- from the early 1900s Made by Akron China Co. Akron Ohio. Akron China was in business from 1894 to 1908. This is one on the few surviving sets. Ceramic wash basin and pitcher with lavender and pink flower design. Pitcher measures 12" high and 9-1/2" wide at widest point. Basin is 15-1/2" diameter and 4-1/2" deep. Pitcher has a small scuff on the side. Bowl has small spider crack on its underside. Some of the gold trim on the bowl rim is worn. But all wear is totally appropriate for the age of the set. See pictures for further clarification. EXCELLENT overall condition considering the set is over 100 years old!
