This Antique White Ironstone Milk Pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. The pattern is CINQUEFOIL and it was made in ca. 1860. The lustre pattern is in very good condition. Clearly defined. There are two CINQUEFOIL transfer patterns on the pitcher; both are shown in the photographs. The pitcher is 6 5/8" tall. An antique brown transfer ware ironstone milk or cream pitcher with aesthetic period brown transfer ware designs. Look closely at the glaze coloring and the handle. Very primitive look to them. Measures just over 4" tall and a hair over 4" in diameter not including the handle. There are some tiny blue specs in glaze on spout side toward bottom half(in the glaze) No makers mark found. I do not see any lines though that match up from one side to the other, so I would say that structurally this piece is perfect. Stands at 7" Tall and is 6" at its widest. Beautiful Transfer Patter of foliage. Butterfly, bee or moth and lots of leaves and branches. I've tried showing each and every side and detail to this piece so that you're able to see the condition. Just a pretty pitcher in classic white ironstone. Beautiful line to it. Great for the country kitchen, shelf piece, wildflower arrangement, milk pitcher, keeps things nice and cold. it is just a simple fluted column but has a grape leaf at the top of the handle. I see no issues with it. it is of that gray/blue color, not the stark white. Antique 1800's Mason's Ironstone 6" Staffordshire Transferware Milk Pitcher 28oz
This is a Mason's mid 19th century milk pitcher produced in Staffordshire England. This pitcher is from the estate of an affluent New York farm family who had worked and lived on this property since the 1850's. The pitcher has an eight sided or octagon shape with a deep blue transferware pattern over opaque white ironstone. The bottom of this pitcher is entirely flat with no rims. The pitcher is completely covered inside and out with a glossy finish including the entire bottom. The glossy finish appears to have been brushed on the base as opposed to the rest of the pitcher. The solid handle was applied to the pitcher at some point in the making. The pitcher has a rural scenic design along with very attractive leaves and flowers surrounding the top rim. The leaf pattern around the top is identical to the one used on their Vista pattern. ... moreThe rest of the pattern is absolutely gorgeous. I have not found another pitcher like it. The handle is in the form of a snake. This pitcher has an early. Simple mark on it's base. This under glaze deep blue inky makers mark reads"MASON'S" over a crown, and underneath reads"PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA" in a banner. Variations of this mark were used from the 1820's up until it became law in 1890 to identify the country of origin at which time England was added. This appears to be a very early mark. I have taken several pictures for your better understanding. I will be very happy to answer any questions you might have. As to the condition; This piece is in outstanding condition. It was only owned by one family and was well cared for. There are no chips. Cracks or damage of any kind. There is a slight yellowing on the bottom of the base. It measures just over 6" high. From front to back with the handle it measures 5 1/4" Without the handle it measures about 5" across. The pitcher holds 28 ounces comfortably. We pack everything very carefully. Brown & White Antique Ironstone Brown Milk Pitcher ~c.1860-1890 raised design
This is an exceptional example of a c.1800s ironstone milk pitcher. It has a thick glossy glazed raised design of a boy-girl surrounded by a border of oak-like leaves framing the scene on each side. It is very well decorated and attractive. I believe that it is probably English in origin. Outside is a thick chocolate brown glaze and inside is a thick white glaze. Where the clay shows through on the top rim(where the glaze did not completely flow) it looks like a yellow ware. The pitcher is about 6.5" tall and about 5" in diameter across the top-plus the spout and handle. It has a unique squared off handle that fits a large hand. The entire vase is in excellent condition without chips or cracks or repairs. The is a very small production pock mark on one side and the handle has a tiny flake or glaze miss on one corner. I cannot tell ... morewhich. The spout is in excellent condition also without a chip or nick. It may have a little wear on one edge or it may by dull glaze in the making. In either case it is almost not visible. The pitcher is heavy weighing 3 lbs. before packing.

T his Antique 19thC English White Ironstone Milk Pitcher with Wheat Sheath stands 7" high. It measures 5 1/2" approximately from the end of handle to the opposite end of the spout. It's a perfect pitcher for serving milk and cream in and a great addition for your collection. It's early. I can't make our the maker's mark in a raised circle on the bottom. It's definately English. Condition is very good considering how old it is. There is crazing throughout, a crack on the bottom foot of the pitcher that goes half way around the piece. It is not a threat to the piece and you don't evensee it unless you hold the pitcher on a tilt. There is another fine line coming down from it. 1880-1900c. Antique Trilby Pottery Hand Painted Ironstone Milk Pitcher
This Trilby maker mark is a mystery to me. I've done extensive research and can find neither an American company nor English company with this name. Based on the design of the ironstone pattern and handpainting I am judging this to be a late 1800s piece. It does lack crazing which is either a sign of very good care or it could have been made in England. The pitcher is in very good condition no chips. No cracks, and no discoloration. The handpainted floral motif is also in very good condition. There is a very small spot of light wear towards the bottom(see photos) There is also some wear to the gilding from use. If anybody has any knowledge of the Trilby maker mark and the approximate time or country of manufacture for this pitcher I would appreciate an email so I can update this listing with more detailed information.
