1850s Antique Staffordshire England Copper Luster Individual 3" Creamer Pitcher
Here is a lovely little antique creamer glazed in copper luster and made in the Staffordshire area of England from the 1840s to the 1860s. Copper luster was popular during the period because it reflected the gas lights that brightened each home in the evening hours. This creamer is an early piece with no manufacturer's mark and is made from ironstone dipped in copper luster. The individual creamer measures 3 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches in diameter from the spout to the handle. The copper glaze is in beautiful condition. With no stains. This is a lovely antique copper luster(lustre) milk or cream pitcher from the late 1800's.found in a local estate sale and fresh to the market. Clean and simple lines and wonderful deep blue in the colored band. Pitcher is 3-1/2 inches tall and 4-1/2 inches from spout to handle. Mouth is 2-3/8 inches in diameter and base is 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall in very good condition.base shows wear and small white area that appears to be leftover from a sticky tag. Antique Copper Luster Cream Pitcher and Bowl Blue band w/flower design 1850-1920
Hi. this pitcher stands 3" tall and is about 3.25" across. The little bowl or it might have been a tea cup. Is 2.1/8" tall and 3.25" across. There are places that the shine is gone but for as old they are- they really are in good condition! The little cream pitcher does have a chip on the spout lip. Hi. this pitcher stands 5.25" tall and is about 6.25" across. Needless to say-over the years it has lost some of it's lustre! There are places that the shine is gone but for as old as it is- I thought it was in pretty good condition. Until I looked at the bottom. It has been repaired. The bottom is not the original but has been covered in clay. I would say by the looks of the repair that it was broken when it wasn't very old. Antique Copper Luster 1qt Pitcher w/Hand Painted Blue& Pink Grape Panels Up for auction is a very nice old antique or vintage copper luster pitcher. This particular one has no manufacturer markings that I can see anywhere. It stands about 7-3/8" at its tallest and looks to be about a one quart capacity. The midsection of the pitcher has been hand-decorated with six scenes of blue. Pink and green bunches of grapes. It really is quite bright and colorful. The copper luster finish is generally in very good to excellent condition, only showing some light touches of wear at the normal handling spots and in the high-points all around. The only damage is one 1/4" finish flake chip off the left side of the spout, shown in one of the photos- due to the redware clay body, barely noticeable as it sets. Any other questions, just ask. Three Antique Copper Luster Items
This trio of Copper Luster has been in my collection for over 25 years. Each one is lovely and worthy of a look.The first item is a 3" pitcher with a transfer view of a woman. Anchor, and ship at sea. The word HOPE is written on the side under the view. There is a slight chip on the base that is hard to notice. The second item a lovely 3" mug with a raised laurel garland encircling the piece. In wonderful condition! The third item is a 5 3/4" pitcher with a beautiful blue floral garland on the throat of the piece. All is in tact, even the lovely handle. The spout, however, has been broken. 2 piece antique copper luster cream pitcher and bowl. Small pitcher has beaded bands and a ribbed bottom. Raised motif on a deep blue teal band. Same design on 3 sides. It stands 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" round at the widest portion. 5 1/4" spout to handle. This piece has crazing and a rough spot on the spout. A few manufacturing flaws of glaze or paint chips on the raised motif in a few spots. The bowl has the same raised floral motif but reversed. It is painted in bright colors on a lighter blue teal band. Bowl has a pedestal and flares out at the rim. This piece has lots of scratches on the inside of the bowl and I found no cracks or chips. Lovely antique copper luster pitcher. This one has a colorful transfer scene. Perhaps a mother with her 2 children gattering flowers. It has a triple beaded band around the top. Larger beads around the center. It stands 6 1/2" tall x 5 3/4" round at the widest portion. From spout to handle 8 1/2" long. In very nice condition. There is a 1" long narrow chip right above the beaded portion of the body on one side right above the children which doesn't go through. There is also a similar long narrow chip on the other side by this one is at one of the bottom rims. Its about 3/8" long. Under the 2 children. Maybe these are manufacturing flaws I don't know. Antique Copper Luster Pitcher This is a medium sized copper luster pitcher. Probably early 1800's and decorated with blue overlaid on the copper luster finish. The main design is two children playing or sitting at a campfire with additional palm fronds and a scrolling handle. old old old pretty pitcher sauce or cream. there is wear on the enamels as you can see in photos but not deep chipping. there is a very shallow sliver flake just under the shoulder rim of pitcher you can see in darkened photo with pitcher handle on left side. it is very shallow not into the rim design but just below could be touched up I believe with some of the new copper nail polish that is available. this item comes from the same estate as the old historical blue items we just sold.

There was a handwritten tag and story that goes with this set when it was sold to us that reads~Luster Pitchers Given by Mrs Underhill born in 1790-whose father was our cousin to Noah Webster owned by Lizzie Wager. Made in England around the 1800's This really is a stunning set and should stay together. That is why we are selling them as a set. There are no markings to tell where they were made and who made them. The tallest one with the floral design is 7 1/2" tall. The next one with three band design is 7" tall and a very nice pink inside the last and smallest one with the picture of a house is 5 1/2" tall. There are no visible cracks or chips ... morein any of te pieces. On the floral design one there is some paint missing on part of the rose. But does not take anything away from the piece at all.
