Homer Laughlin was the maker of American ceramics& porcelain. Beginning in the late 19th century. Laughlin made very popular dinnerware. New management ran the company until it closed in 1973. Up for auction is a white Ironstone Pitcher from New Jersey Pottery Co. It measures 6 1/2 inches tall. This pitcher has an elaborate handle with an upturn thumb rest. I see no chips or cracks but there is staining around the inside and outside of the pitcher by the mouth. It is a beautiful piece that has stood the test of time. Beautiful pitcher about 50-100 years old-has wonderful detail around the top and on the handle. The body is smooth with floral and fern pattern coming from the top of handle. There is a berry pattern under the spout. The pitcher is 12 inches tall and about 7 inches in diameter on the bottom. Bottom has a very intricate logo design with the words Mellor& Co. The pitcher is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. There is one crazing but nothing that would prevent from using it as it was designed.

Here is a white ironstone pitcher that measures 13 inches tall and is marked with the Wheeling Pottery Company ink mark from the late 1800's to the early 1900's on the bottom. It is free of chips. Vintage White Ironstone syrup pitcher with pewter lid by John Wyllie & Sons
This great 19th century white ironstone syrup pitcher has a pewter lid and stands 8.75" tall. It has a leaflike decoration around the base of the pewter lid. The lid tilts back and. When closed, doesn't exactly close flush. This rare syrup pitcher was produced by John Wyllie& Sons at the Great Western Pottery Company in East Liverpool, Ohio. They only produced wares in the mid 1870's which makes this rare pitcher about 140 years old. It is signed"G W P Co. Trademark Stone China. There are no flakes, chips, or cracks. There is crazing and some very subtle discoloration which is not very obvious. The mold marking inside the lid is Pat. July 16, 72 C&W. It will make a great addition to your ironstone collection. Vintage white pitcher with embossed grapes& grape leaves. Grape leaf and grapes adorn the handle as well. Approx 13" tall and 24" in diameter at its widest point. The trademark on this piece is from 1864-1891 time period. No crazing. Chips or cracks noted, minor imperfections original to the piece. Condition is very good for something this old. The W&E Corn Earthenworks was by William and Edward Corn from 1850 when they took over from their father Edward upon his retirement in 1850. The brothers continued to manufacture pottery at their Burslem pottery works until 1890 when they moved into larger facilities at Top Bridge Works. Longport.

This is a beautiful ironstone white pitcher made by H. Burgess. Research says that it was produced in Burslem. England toward the end of the 1800's. It has a knotted rope design on the handle and down the sides. It is 9 1/2 in. tall and about 9 in. wide including the handle. There are no cracks in this pitcher. A bit of the glaze has come off the very end of the spout which I have shown in the picture. It is in great condition. All items come from a smoke free home. I have saved the best for last. Beautiful Matching Vintage White Ironstone China Bowl and Pitcher. It is probably 100 years old and is in wonderful shape except for some very light crazing on the bowl-the pitcher has no crazing. The detail on the handle and all over the pitcher is wonderful. The floral portion of the pattern appears to be bleeding heart. This is a very large pitcher at almost 13 inches tall and about 7 x 8 inches on the bottom. The logo on the bottom says Warranted Stone China. Mellor, Taylor& Co. England. The matching bowl is 15 inches in diameter x 5 inches high and has the same logo as the pitcher. The bowl has the same pattern on the inside and is smooth on the outside.

Up for auction is a vintage antique English made stone china J. W. Pankhurst& Co. white ironstone pitcher and bowl set recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. They were in use before sinks and indoor plumbing was common. People would do daily washing in such pieces. This set is found in good used condition. The only real condition issue to discuss is a small hairline near the base of the pitcher, best seen in photo#6. There are three marks on the edge of the bowl, where it was set in a kiln, often found on such pieces. An example of this mark is best seen in photo#7. Both pitcher and bowl are marked. This set has a nice, but subtle decorated handle. Please see photo#11 for details. Solid White Vintage Ironstone "Ice Water" Pitcher
Heavy old ice water pitcher with"Ice Water" on both sides. It measures almost 6 1/2 inches tall& has a base diameter of 4 3/4 inches. From spout to handle it's about 7 inches. No modern issues whatsoever. No chips. No cracks, no fleabites, etc. There's not even any crazing. This pitcher is clean& shiny with no discoloration or toning. Some of the covering glaze"pooled" in places. Something that occurred during manufacturing. You won't be disappointed. Of course we accept returns should this gem not be as described. Vintage Walley White Ironstone Leaf Pitcher & Bowl
The pitcher measures 11 inches tall.Base is 5-1/2, from handle to spout it is 7-3/4 inches. The front of pitcher has a leaf under the spout and on sides rounded panels with a defur design between them. There is a crack that measures 5 inches it is on the bottom rounded area of pitcher. The bowl has the deflu design around rim. There are a few cracks and crazing on bowl. with 2 paint drips that can be removed.

Lg. antique/vintage signed ironstone pitcher & bowl in brown/white spatterware-G
For your consideration: A large pitcher& bowl set. Ironstone In a brown/ white spatter pattern. This set is signed on the bottom of both pieces, by a maker I don't recognize. I have included photo's of the mark, but they may not be positioned correctly; i.e. they may be upside down. If you would like additional photo's, or from a different angle, just e-mail us. This set is in great condition. We have had it for about 15 years, as we collected pitcher& bowl sets; we are now preparing to downsize to a smaller home/ condo, are selling a lot of our" stuff" My husband bought this set in an antique shop as a gift for me, the dealer told him the name of the maker, but he could not remember it when he gave it to me, the shop was in New Hampshire, we are in MA. so we were not able to find out more, although we originally ... moreplanned to at some point, but never did. The dealer also told him that it was a late 1800's piece, but we have no way of verifying that. We aren't experts at all, but do believe it to be an older set( early 1900's) We also loved the spatter coloring, usually seen on tin ware. The measurements for the bowl/basin are 12.75" diameter. the depth is approx. 5" The base( on the bottom of the bowl) is 5" diameter. The pitcher measure 11.5" tall from the highest point. It measures 7.5" from handle top to edge of ice lip in width, the base( the flat surface) is 5.5" There is a flaw that I did not know it had until I started the listing. at the top of the pitcher is an area shaped something like a triangle that has what looks like a hairline crack, as I said, this surprised me since I did not know it was there) in any case as I examined it further I could feel, then see that it extended to the outside of the pitcher as well. I believe it was broken& repaired, not just a hairline like I thought at first. Also there is a small" chip" or" ding" near the top of the pitcher opposite the area described above. There is another

Maybe late 1800's to early 1900's( my guess) I'm no expert but do collect items of this era. no chips.Cracks or crazing. some discoloration, browning. interior is browned. Vintage White Ironstone Pitcher Jug and Bowl Alfred Meakin Ewer Tunstall England Fresh from an estate here in Maine is Super Rare Aflred J G Meakin White Stoneware Bowl and Pitcher. This came from an early Victorian house here in Maine with there was high end antiques and this being no exception. Expecially this one you can find the pitcher but never the bowl that matches it. The pitcher has a very tight hairline near the handle nothing to really worry about. The pitcher measures 12 inches tall 7 inches in diameter and is all marked with Black Ironstone mark. The bowl has tiny chip on it's rim and brown water mark in the bowl where pitcher set for years. It measures 5 inches tall and 11 1/2 inches in diameter and also marked with meakin mark. This is amazing rare find. And I am selling it an amazing price delivered to your door so don't ... moremiss out. You may never see this complete set again.
