Antique Brown Transferware Pitcher Staffordshire Ironstone Aesthetic Movement 18
This auction is for an antique brown transferware pitcher. Its design is Aesthetic Movement style- so popular in the 1880's which is when I believe this piece was made. It is almost 8 inches tall and in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Does have some all over age crazing which is expected in a piece this age. Has some gold accents. It is unmarked. But certainly appears like a Staffordshire, England pottery piece. This pitcher was probably a part of a set. A great transferware piece for your collection! Email with any questions. Warranted Bone China Pitcher Brown/White Transferware Marked Maker Unknown Mint
I believe that this is a older piece. More antique than vintage! It is marked, although I found the markings impossible to read, I actually gave myself a headache! What I was able to make out is: WARRANTED BONE CHINA? BROS&CO. What I do know, is that it is a extremely handsome pitcher, measures approximately 8 inches tall. Front and back are both covered with brown and white transferware scenes. Slight pedestal base and a beautiful handle and spout. There is a fair amount of gold detail and if I had to guess, I would say that this was English in origin.

Brown Westhead & Moore Transferware Aesthetic Movement Victorian Pitcher Ewer
Part of a wash basin set originally. Found all by itself at one of my usual haunts. I've never come across a piece of transferware using a white transfer. Measuring 10-1/2" high. The pitcher has a 1-1/2 gallon capacity, and is faintly impressed on the underside with the Brown, Westhead& Moore stamp. I can't make out anything in the impressed registry mark with any degree of certainty other than the IV indicating the material. The date mark may be W which would date it to the early part of the Aesthetic Movement in 1865. There is also a white stamped mark D over 3484. This piece is in excellent condition with some minor cuts. Scuffs on the body consistent with age but NO chips, NO cracks, NO staining. The design shows a bare minimum of wear on the edges. I can see some clear crazing where the handle meets the top but none ... moreelsewhere. Very clean inside and out, no mineral deposits or residue on the interior that I can see. The transfer on one side depicts a very realistic section of grape vine with leaves and tendrils. The design continues to the front with an overlay of a decidedly Japanese-looking scroll scene. Very few pieces of transferware in this"reverse" color scheme can be found. According to my contact at Skinner. It is considered to be"far more uncommon" I AL WAYS pack with care to assure the safe arrival of your treasures. Check my 100% positive feedback over thirteen years on eBay and bid with confidence! Payment is expected within three days… If you need more time please get in touch with me before bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck! Antique Brown & White Transferware Pitcher by T. & J. Mayer
Charming old pitcher manufactured in the mid-1800s by Thomas and John Mayer. Of Longport. The pattern is"Non-Pareil" often seen in blue and white, or mulberry and white, but in this case we have a lovely dark brown on creamy ceramic. Non-Pareil" has several variations, and in this case, the river scene includes two fishermen with mountains and castles in the distance. the other embellishments include flower and fern designs. All the transfers are clear and finely executed. The pitcher shows use and although there is wear along the edges. There aren't any chips or cracks or crazing. Upon close inspection, it appears to me that the bottom tip of the handle has been replaced. It's well done and appears old(see last picture) The pitcher measures 4 1/2" at its tallest point. Near the spout, by 6" long, from outside ... moreedge of the handle to the end of the spout, by 3 1/8" deep, at the widest part of the bowl. It has a wonderful manufacturer's mark on the bottom of the pitcher, that includes the English lion and a young Victoria, as well as the pattern name and manufacturer's name and location I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures. And to describe the piece as completely as possible, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Please note that any errors or missing information is unintentional. I accept PayPal only. Please provide payment within 3 days unless we agree to other arrangements. Once payment clears. I will ship within 3 business days. The shipping fee might seem a bit high, but I package antique china in a box within a box to best protect your investment. No returns. If something is amiss. Booths Victorian Transferware Pitcher "America" Brown c.1883-1891
This beautiful original piece was manufactured between 1883 and 1891 by the Booth brothers of Tunstall. Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, BEFORE the formation of Booths Ltd. The pattern, America" seems to be rare aesthetic transferware, a real historical treasure for a collector of Victorian dinnerware. There is one notable chip on the spout, browning spots on one side, inside the pitcher, and on the back under the handle, normal for a piece 130 years old. It is about 7" tall.
