The bowl has been repaired, and the cracks are visible, however, the break and repair ... moreis in one area at the top rim, and could be placed at the back so that it is not visible. The pitcher is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks at all. There is no stamp on the pitcher, but the bowl has a printed backstamp that reads Ironstone, and England. I am unsure of the age of the set. They have a beautiful transfer pattern of violets tied with a pretty bow. There is a good amount of crazing in the glaze of the bowl. The bowl is about 4.5” tall, 3.75” deep, 15” in diameter at the top rim, and 7” in diameter at the base ring. The pitcher is 10.5” tall at the spout, 11.5” tall at the handle, about 9.5” deep, 9” in diameter at most, 5.

Antique White Ironstone Pitcher & Bowl - Niagara Shape - Copper Lustre - c.1856
Offered is a gorgeous. Matching, White Ironstone Bowl& Pitcher in the Niagara Shape. This shape features wonderful embossing below the spout of the pitcher, and a series of fan shapes around the base of the pitcher and inner rim of the bowl. Both are beautifully outlined with copper lustre. They were produced by Edward Walley in Cobridge, England, and registered in November, 1856. Both pieces retain his impressed mark with the shape name. The bowl has a small chip on the underside rim and a tight hairline on the side of the bowl. The pitcher has spider lines on the bottom; one that goes a very short way up from the base. The pitcher also has a couple of pinpoint marks on the body from production. This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. There are some scratches on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher sits but again consistent with age. Considering this is around 100 years old it is in very good condition. Other than a few scrapings on the bottom of the wash basin itself due to age(as seen in photos) it is in great condition with authentic brand on bottoms. Lovely antique white ironstone pitcher and bowl. Mark on the bottom identifies it as by Edwin Bennett Pottery Co. of Baltimore MD. Both pieces are marked. Although the mark on the pitcher is very light at this point in time. Both bowl and pitcher have staining and mild crazing(please see photos) There is a hairline crack near the top of the bowl(I have provided two views of the crack- one from the interior of the bowl and one from the exterior) There are also three small marks/ dots on the interior of the bowl. I believe that these are from the way in which the bowl was set to dry following the glazing process. There are also a few scratches in the bottom of the bowl simply from use. This is Wm. Brunt whose Family Association made pottery from 1847 to 1902. The mark is an Eagle or Phoenix which is a trademark that they used on their Ironstone China. The pitcher is about 12 inches tall and the bowl measures about 14 1/2 inches in diameter at the top. Both pitcher and bowl are in good used condition I have pictured the flaws please see pictures also handle feels like it may be cracked in center but still in tack. There is an embossed flower on the top of the pitcher handle. There is some light crazing that is normal for pottery of this age.

This is an outstanding Antique Ironstone Wash bowl and Pitcher. Purple and White with very detailed flowers and oak leafs on it. the transfer is so beautiful. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Its in truly mint shape! This is a larger set. The bowl measures 16 inches diameter and stands 4.5 inches. The pitcher measures 9 x 9 x 12 inches. up for auction is a really nice colorful and beautiful porcelain LARGE(EYE CATCHING) PITCHER AND BOWL SET. so pretty. bowl is 16' wide and 4 1/2' deep. and the pitcher is 11 1/2' tall by 9 1/2' wide in the middle and 8 1/2' from the end of the spout to the end of the handle. creamy antique white with a pretty bluish green color.pitche has flowers on one side. pitcher and bowl are both embossed.see the pictures. i see nothing wrong with it. there are a few little flaws in the glaze on the bottom of the pitcher.but they aren't noticible.really heavy and large. shipping is a flat $24.50 to the lower 48 united states.
