This jug has a pink lustre decorated exterior, with a black transfer that has been colored. The transfer shows the crossed flags of England and France, with clasped hands below the flags. There is a banner above the flags that reads, "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN, MAY THEY EVER BE UNITED VIVE L'EMPEREUR." This transfer was done to commemorate the hoped union between France and England post Crimean War. The pitcher has a second black transfer on the other side made to commemorate the building of the Iron Bridge in Sunderland. This dates to the beginning of the 19th Century.

Historic Pottery, War of 1812, or Maritime Related Collection Details Description: This is a nice size old glazed pottery(32 fluid ounce) pitcher made in the USA. The piece has a classic antique shape of milk pitchers and is decorated with a black transfer on cream colored background. The decoration depicts a maritime battle scene on one side captioned"The American Sloop of War WASP Capturing the English Sloop of War Frolic Oct. 18. 1812. The other side has the United States Arm consisting of a spread eagle with a shield at its chest and a banner in his beak proclaiming"E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the words"Arms of the United States" above it and the words"Under ... morethis we Prosper" under it. On the front of the pitcher, right under the spout, is the image of lady liberty standing with the word"Liberty" under it. The piece has a round base with curved sides rising in bulbous fashion to a plain rim. The rim has a spout and there is an applied handle on the side of the piece. Staffordshire creamware 19th century pitcher. This pitcher is decorated in a polychrome glaze with a floral pattern. There is a raised banner on the bottom with hand painted numbers#8899 9. I can't make out the name on the banner. There is staining inside the creamer and a pit where the handle joins the inside of the piece(see picture) There is faint staining on the outside and some glaze loss(see picture) There are no cracks. Hello: For sale is an early 19th Century English creamware pitcher with an Asian scene on it. The pitcher is 5.5" tall. And 3.75" with at the mouth, and 3.2" wide at the base. It is white creamware with red, orange, brown, and yellow. The scene shows an asian man, woman and 2 children. The overall condition is so-so. No repairs, or significant damage, but there are a number of small hairline cracks on the bottom and around the base. The finish also has a number of small worn spots. Reeded handles with elaborate flower and leaf terminals. It is painted in black crosshatch style with Elijah sitting by a tree with two ravens bringing him food. Historical Liverpool Creamware Pitcher Jug War of 1812 & Franklin Mug pottery
This pitcher and mug are in great condition but do have some enamel cracks due to aging. No unnatural cracks or chip to speak of. I have not seen the mug advertised. There is no stamp on the bottom like the colonial drummer on the pitcher however they appear to be from the same maker and both have the USA stamp on the bottom.

We think it was most likely made in England in the late 19th or early 20th century, possibly as a commemorative or collectible piece for the State of Iowa? Creamware or ironstone. Darkened over time to a rich ecru- Both sides are decorated with scenes of an old mill on a stream. Framed by wildflowers in dark red/sienna on an ecru background- Glaze of ribbed collar has darkened in an alternating pattern that has produced a lovely patina and depth- On underside.
