Offered for auction is a beautiful antique wash/bath set with a blue& white floral design;it was purchased as a set.The larger pieces are marked,the smaller ones are not marked,which to my knowledge, is not uncommon.The mark on the underside reads" Maddocks Works-Lamberton-Royal Porcelain"a company out of Trenton New Jersey which existed from 1893-1915. This set consists of a large bowl with a pitcher,a chamber pot,a handled slop bucket with a lid,a tumbler,and a soap dish with a lid. Here is a wonderful antique early 1880's ceramic MADDOCK'S WORKS LAMBERTON Royal Porcelain PITCHER that would be perfect in big wash bowl that goes to a chamber set. It has been in my family for generations. And was part of my grandmothers estate. It stands 11" tall an as the aesthetic movement style pink and light rose color large flower displays on both sides of the pitcher. And inside the lip. The gold trim is about 80% there around the rim. One of the wonderful things about the pitcher is that it has survived 125 years with NO chips. Or hairlines, or cracks. Maddock's Works Lamberton Royal Porcelain Basin and Arner's Water Pitcher
MADDOCKS WORKS LAMBERTON ROYAL PORCELAIN AND ARNER'S WATER PITCHER The two items are not the same brand. But look nice together, so you get two for one! The pitcher is by Arner's, there is an inscription that says Thelma Xmas 1989 on the bottom. The pitcher is about 12 inches tall and about 9 inches in diameter. It is in great condition and super fancy. The basin is by Maddocks Works, Lamberton Style and made of Royal Porcelain. The basin has hairline fractures under the clear coat, see photo of the bottom to understand what I am referring to, otherwise, it is in great condition. The basin has some imperfections under the paint, maybe some dirt or dust under the paint when they were painting it? I don't know. Royal Porcelain, USA, as seen below. This is an original matching set from the late 19th century. There are no chips to either piece, with the exception of the base pedestal of the basin and there are stress cracks to both the pitcher and the basin and age craze to the glazing on both pieces, also shown in the multiple photos below. Both pieces are in strong, usable condition regardless of these issues and are quite attractive with a nice gloss glaze. Beautiful old pitcher and dish with lid and insert. Stamped Lamberton Maddock Works Royal porcelain. Pitcher is a little more than 7 inches tall and about 5 inches wide through the middle. The dish has matching lid. Also stamped the same and some sort of round insert that can be removed plus matching lid all with nice heavy gold trim. Close to 100 years old. These pieces are elegant and quite expensive. I'm putting them out together at a lower than average price so that they can have a good home soon. I will also add a handling fee to have them professionally packed since they are delicate china and old and we don't want to take any chances with the post office.

Gorgeous example of Lamberton Porcelain. Made by Maddocks. A very early piece, this was made in the USA. It features a spray of pink roses with light green/yellow foliage and yellow base. This might be an antique, but these colors are trending for 2015 and this piece is perfectly on trend for up-cycling! The pitcher. Which would have originally been used for water with a wash basin,stands about 7" tall x 8 3/4" wide from spout to handle. There is a scrolling repoussé pattern around the rim and base that mimics the scrolled applied handle. Gold highlighting on the rim and handle makes this piece really shine! Just lovely for a floral display, or to use functionally with water or beverages. No chips or cracks. Crazing can be seen in bright light. But no discoloration.
