The width is approximately 4" from the tip of the spout ... moreto the outer edge of the handle. The green handle has striated lines that resemble those found in corn leaves. On each side of the handle, there are three corn leaves extending upward into the body of the corn kernels. Each leaf is striated. On the spout side. There is one long leaf that extends from the base to the tip of the sport. It is also striated. The pitcher has a semi-bulbous shape that gentle slopes to the narrow footed base. The bottom of the base has 3 stilt marks. There is a 9 or 6 under glaze that was written by hand. There are no cracks or crazing. There is a very small chip on the underside edge of the base( approximately 3/8" long by approximately 1/4" deep) that does not affect the stability of the pitcher. I have not been able to identify the maker of this piece. If you are a majolica collector this is a very nice piece to add to your collection. If you like pitchers. This would be a fun addition. I don't know the exact age but it has heavy crazing all over it. It is in excellent used condition with no chips or cracks, little dirty. I was afraid to wash it. Approximately 8” x 4” From my great-grandmother’s house in Boston. Massachusetts where I grew up, this lovely piece now needs another home. I have seen it in a glass display cabinet ever since I was little, and I am now 60 years old! It was lovingly kept out of the light and moisture. The handle must have been repaired a long. Long time ago, because I had never noticed the two small cracks until now. They actually blend in with the gold painted decoration. The handle is strong and functional. The lid is attached with original rivets and the hinge is tight and straight. It has not been cleaned or polished in over 60 years. Only dusted! I am not sure of the metal. ... moreBut it is very similar to old pewter. There is one small chip on the base that is barely noticeable. It also fits in with the decoration. Absolutely stunning. Extra Large Floral Pitcher and Wash Basin Bowl. This set is such an eye-catcher! Beautiful floral pattern with gold trim accents. It is extra large in size and quite heavy. Very MINOR wear in a few spots to the gold accents. No chips or cracks found on either. Floral pattern is found on bottom of pitcher as well as the basin/bowl. Age and maker unknown. Set is unmarked. Pitcher measures 10 3/4" from the bottom to the top of the handle. This beautiful basin made in 1890 in England. By"Ironstone" is in very good condition, the paint is nice and not chipped. It is a charming cream color, trimmed in beige/tan and has a colorful floral design. Please see pictures as it has a minor flaw. Its a crack/scratch, its hard to tell its close to top of the pitcher and you see can see it but its not deep( doesn't go through to other side or anything) could be fine crack or a deep scratch.A minor flaw does not dismiss the elegance of this pitcher, it is a beautiful piece of art work. Measures 11 1/2" tall including handle. Measures 25" around the body of pitcher. Measures 5" at spout opening. The exterior glaze has a very smooth finish. However. There is a"crazing" on the bottom glaze and to the interior due to age only. Which only adds to the age and character of the pitcher- see photos. There is light to moderate crazing on the pitcher that did not show up due to the flash. There is heavy crazing on the bottom as seen in the pictures. It is a black floral transfer ware pattern- and presents beautifully. The bottom of the pitcher is hallmarked Montreal Cliff and the set is in overall good condition. It shows some wear for its age which can be seen in the pictures. There are no repairs to either of the pieces- and only a small hairline crack on the top surface of the tray which can be seen in the picture. It measures 15.87 x 23.49 x 16.51 cm(6 1/4 x 9 1/4 x 6 1/2 in.
