Large Staffordshire Copper Lustre Jug ~'FANCY' PAINTED DECORATION ~ c1840 NR
A Large English Pottery Staffordshire Copper Lustre Baluster Jug c1840 ~'Fancy' Five Color Folk Art Type Painted Decoration ~ 7 1/2" high ~ 9 1/2" across from handle to spout I can't help thinking this jug should have been used in Sumpter T. Priddy's book'American Fancy: Exuberance in the Arts. 1790-1840 because it has all the characteristics of'exuberant' decoration. It has the same spirit of painting that much mochaware was decorated with and this shape and size pitcher was also used on much mocha. I'm not sure the pink used here for the dots around the center was a sort of dusty rose pink or brighter; if it was brighter, the pigment has faded, which is sad as it doesn't stand out as much as the other colors. In excellent display condition; there is wear to the lustre and decoration and some ... moreminor enamel flaking. There is also fine surface wear especially around the belly. See the pics for closeups of that, but there is no major damage or restoration; the inside bottom may have been repainted a long time ago as it is matte and not smooth but there is no damage to the base. Despite the points of surface wear this has fantastic presence and color. Thanks for looking! No Reserve! Please see the other English/ Historical Staffordshire/ porcelain/ pottery/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed. On Aug-04-14 at 11:05:08 PDT. Seller added the following information: Adding one more photo that may show the size of the jug better.

Lovely Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink & Copper Lustre Pitcher ~ GRAPE ~ c1840 NR
A Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink& Copper Lustre Pitcher/ Jug c1840 ~ Gaudy Welsh Grape Pattern Molded Pitcher ~ 6 1/2" high ~ 6 1/2" across from handle to spout First Note on this jug: Ignore all the minor imperfections in the enamel and white glaze you see in these pics; this is another of those times I have a piece I love so much and photograph to be horrified by how many little dings show up. That's the good and bad part about very large photos; they will accurately show you what's there but they don't give you a sense of the physical presence of the piece. This small jug looks fantastic on display. It is full of color and lustre, and although it is not a rare Gaudy Welsh variety it is one of the nicest I've owned. The pink lustre frond background is very vivid as well as the copper lustre detail overlay on ... morethe cobalt. As you can see in the pics, the jug is molded in six panels with leafy details on the handle and top rim. There is a tiny bit of discoloration at the very rim of the spout. And there is random flaking to the white pottery; mostly seen on the handle but I wouldn't call any of it disfiguring. There is also wear or flaking to the red enamels on the most protruding parts of the jug, probably caused by bumping into other pieces or rubbing. Overall. This jug is beautiful to look at and wonderful to hold. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English/ Historical Staffordshire/ porcelain/ pottery/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed.

Antique Staffordshire Copper Lustre Pitcher With Mustard And Rose Decorations
On offer I have an antique copper lustre pitcher. It has two decorative bands of mustard with rose leaves. There is also a beaded band around the top and above the chubby middle. This pitcher measures 4 1/2" tall to the top of the handle. 5 1/8" wide from handle to spout and 3 1/2" across the middle. It weighs 10.3 ounces. My antique dealer tells me this is mid 19th century Staffordshire. During the 1820-1860 periods there were a number of Staffordshire factories producing these luster pieces. Attribution to specific potters was not really possible since most luster ware pieces of this vintage were unmarked. This is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. I have found a tiny flea bite inside the spout. There are some surface scratches. Please view my photographs for more description. Any white area you ... moresee are reflections on the glaze. I am not an expert on antiques. But will be happy to answer any questions and combine your shipping whenever possible.

Antique England Copper Luster Art Nouveau ceramic Pitcher STAFFORDSHIRE? 7"
This piece is very interesting the glaze is more of a pinkish than copper don't know if this is because fading over the years it has chips on the bottom which show a base of a white clay then a bit of a bluish glaze with the copper pink overtop. On the inside is a white shiny glaze with blue undertones. There is a design on the pitcher it's unique to this style of pitcher it's an abstract squiggly type of pattern it has a very Art Nouveau look with this bohemian type pattern on the pinkish copper. Vase does have chips on bottom and inside part of handle there is some where on the glaze on the handle slight chip slight chip on the poor spout refer to photos this is a very unique piece of pottery still beautiful. It looks to be English in origin. Measures at 7 inches in total height and is 19 1/2 inches at its widest circumference. ... morePhotos of item to show Color variants with inside and outside lighting
