This is a delightful size. Just 5-1/2' high. A fine looking small size antique cream pitcher with high relief decoration of two figures. A mother and child on one side of the pitcher. This charming pattern of the molded figures of the mother and child is often found in a larger size, typically 8" high or larger. Unusual to find this delightful small size cream pitcher. The lustre is still bright and beautiful. A deep coppery coloring and quite reflective so it is difficult to see the relief work. Holding it in your own hands you can both see and feel the lovely molded designs and painted leaf decoration to the jug. There is also polychrome decoration on the mothers dress and the child clothing. The entire pitcher in fact has a relieft molded design of a tree. Even the handle is fashioned to appear like gnarled wood. The interior is copper lustre. This is circa 1880's. A Staffordshire England lustreware pitcher and shows good expected wear to the base and along the handle and spout rim. Still a Beauty! Antique Copper Luster Cream Pitcher and Bowl Blue band w/flower design 1850-1920
Hi. this pitcher stands 3" tall and is about 3.25" across. The little bowl or it might have been a tea cup. Is 2.1/8" tall and 3.25" across. There are places that the shine is gone but for as old they are- they really are in good condition! The little cream pitcher does have a chip on the spout lip. Copper Luster Staffordshire Pitcher Victorian Cream Bands Beaded Rim
Up for bid is an antique Copper Luster Staffordshire Pitcher from the Victorian age. The pitcher has a bottom cream band with vine design. The top cream band is narrow with a line in it. The pitcher has an embossed beaded rim. The pitcher measures 5-1/8" tall and 5-1/2" handle to spout. Nearly all copper luster produced was from the Staffordshire district throughout the 1800's. This piece is unmarked and more than likely was produced from 1840's to the 1880's. It is in very good condition for its age. It has a crack at the upper part of the handle where it meets the pitcher. There is also a manufacturing flaw in the spout. The bands have some minor crazing. I could not find any other flaws. But there could be other very tiny flaws in this because it was made with a reddish-brown clay and is nearly the same color as the ... morecopper. Message us if you need more information. C93) 19 th Century Staffordshire Orange Luster Cream Pitcher. Chinese Scenes This lovely 19 th century Staffordshire cream pitcher measures 5 ¼” tall by 4” wide by 3 ¼” deep. Unmarked. It is pristine as its white is very bright, the color transfer is generally placed carefully, and only a few odd brown marks show below the handle. A ¾” border of flowers. Leaves, and tendrils in shades of brown is repeated all the way around the rim. Where the transfers join under the handle and at the spout they are slightly misaligned. The two related scenes join at the front of the pitcher perfectly. The more detailed scene features a father. Grandfather, and grandson with his pet dog in the courtyard of their estate; they are dressed simply, but the courtyard is surrounded by an elaborate architectural fence with hedges beyond it. A domed ... morestructure is seen at one side while beyond the hedges, we see the river, and beyond that, a cluster of four or five small buildings. The transfer of a boatman on the river joins perfectly under the spout; the same is true for the intricate fence. The second scene depicts the father and grandfather in the courtyard. While off to one side is a stone structure with a vase and small plant on it. The other side of the courtyard shows their home. The hedges are not seen on this side but the river is still there, and beyond it, the hills. There seems to be is a slight misalignment of the fence, but I think it was deliberate to indicate a corner. The grandfather watches his son as he appears to be releasing a falcon into the air. C94) Early 19 th Century Brown w Orange Luster Cream Pitcher. Fans& Birds This simple but unmarked elegant pitcher. Measuring 5 ¾” tall by 4 ¼” wide by 3 ½” deep, features a simple ¼” border on the inside and outside of the top rim. Inside the rim is a continuous frieze of intricate brown transfer designs. The outside rim has random portions of the leaf, vine, and fan brown transfers used on the lower outside. The top outside of the handle has a less than 2” copy of the inside rim’s design. The bottom design begins with three patches of orange luster applied with the brown transfer placed over it. Its design consists of fans on either side of the pitcher facing towards the middle front. The fans have some aesthetic designs in them with a different bird in each fan; the birds face each other. In the middle of the pitcher(between ... morethe fans) is a larger bird with a long beak and even longer legs. Surrounding these three orange luster sections are simple brown vines and leaves. The bottom of the pitcher has a couple of orange luster marks and a short hairline that does not go through. The top of the handle appears to be weakened by a vertical crack on one side. Century. Dark tan color band around the upper side with the luster floral sprig pattern that may have a slightly flesh/pink tint in some lighting. Overall copper luster except for the creamy white interior. It is not marked by the maker. Very nice clean condition with no chips. Cracks, stains, or repairs. It has some wear rubs and scratches on the bulbous side that really do not hurt the appearance very much, and it will still display nicely in your collection. There is also a 1/4 inch size glaze miss on the side to the right of the base of the handle, and ... moreI see no visible crazing. Measures 4 3/8 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide from the tip of the spout to the outside edge of the handle. Please email questions before you bid. The pattern features a stylized house or barn, abstract trees and decorative designs mostly in copper luster with pink luster accents. The pitcher is 4" wide including the handle, about 3¼" in diameter at the widest part of the bowl and stands 3¼" tall.
