There is a gold trim around the rim of the pitcher. Ornate handle. Heavy pitcher weighs 4 pounds. It is in very good vintage condition except for a crack down the handle which appears to be a manufacturing defect. There are no chips or crazing. Displays nicely. This was purchased at an estate sale of someone who lived to be 100 years old. The age of the item is uncertain and it carries no makers marks. It needs a good cleaning. As when I looked at the photos I small some white spots that I could remove with my fingernail. No obvious repairs, other than what looks like a repair 1/2 way down below the spout-but this"repair" does not go through to the inside, so it may have just been a flaw. Holds water, no leaks. Antique Salt Glaze Stoneware Colbalt Blue Water/ Milk Pitcher !
This is from my grandmother who was a little old German lady that collected many things. The picture has been in storage since the 1960’s in my dad.S attic. I am not sure as to the artist or manufacture but I can assure you that it is authentic and not a reproduction. Measures 8"x7"x5"Condition is very good no cracks or chips that I can see. The figure on the picture is playing some sort of instrument on his lap. If you like this one then bid cause I don't have 2 of this. I am guessing as to the age being between 1900 and 1940 as that was when my grandmother bought most of her things. If anyone knows more about this please email me and I'll post the information.

Antique Victorian Spongeware Water Milk Pitcher Stoneware Yellow Ware
Offered is a vintage 19th century spongeware water or milk pitcher. It has a serpentine top rim with a raised floral decoration. Heavily crazed. sponged with blue and rust. It has one 1/2" chip on the inside rim near the spout, a 3" hairline from the top rim down, and a spider along the bottom. When tapped on the side, the pitcher has a nice ring, is as solid as the day it was made! I've provided as many photos as possible. It measures 7 1/4"T x 4 3/4" at the base, 6"Wide at the handle. This piece is a genuine antique, unlike most of that modern reproduction blue& white spongeware seen on eBay. It has been in my family for at least 3 generations. I am very pleased to offer this Antique Stoneware Water Pitcher- 9” Tall X 6 1/2” Diameter- Beautiful Piece! I have owned this pitcher for the last 20 years and it is now time to scale back. THis is a very heavy piece. It appears that the finish is worn in a couple of areas along the top rim and there is some minor chip on the bottom as shown in the photo. This really looks like a very old piece but there are no marks identifying the maker.

Large Stoneware Water Pitcher w/ Sprigged Horses, People, & Dogs SALE
About the Item This large sprigged water pitcher has a tan body with a golden brown drip glaze. It is decorated with white molded sprig decorations of horses. People, trees, a fence, and dogs. It is made of heavy stoneware. It measures 9" tall to the top of the finial and approximately 8" from handle to spout. The sprig decoration goes two thirds of the way around and features a country scene of horses behind a fence. A man unlatching a gate, a child seated on the fence, running dogs, and trees. There is also a floral molded decoration along the rim on two sides. The sprig decoration shows numerous splits from the heat when the piece was fired. There are two small chips on the spout(shown) and one on the edge of the base(also shown) Unmarked. It is very heavy, weighing nearly 5 pounds. This lovely pitcher is a type of stoneware with a brown glaze. It stands 8 1/2 inches tall and holds 2 plus a little more quarts. It is in very good condition. No cracks or chips found. There are some spots where the brown missed in the glazing process, original to the manufacture. The bottom has an impressed 5 pointed star which you can see in the pictures.
